I have been getting my hair cut & colored at this salon for the past year and can't say enough good things. The salon is very trendy and everyone is so friendly, knowledgeable, and talented. Recently, I received a color service and left the appointment not completely satisfied and desiring more (the technique and application was perfect, but the color wasn't as blonde as I was hoping for). I am not one to complain (ever!), but I decided to complete a survey sent via email about my experience not really expecting anyone to read it, let alone contact me. To my surprise, the owners went out of their way to call me. They addressed the very minor issue and offered a color correction at no additional cost to me. Not only do they have great customer service, but they genuinely want their clients to be happy. What more could you want from a salon! Larysa completed my color correction service and she is absolutely phenomenal! The proof is in the picture! I spent a year with this salon. I was always relatively happy with my experience and only once came in for a correction. I worked with Aviana. After my last appointment she assured me I could call to schedule my next appointment when it was convenient. When I called I was told she was on vacation and to call back in a month. When I called back I was told she was "busy" and that she would call me back to help with scheduling my appointment. She never called me back but I received an INSTAGRAM message saying she no longer wanted me as a client. I asked her what went wrong and why she was dropping me as a client. I never received a response. It was so hurtful and embarrassing to know that the front desk was lying to me because for some reason they didn't want me as a customer anymore. I truly wish I knew why. I'm so happy I found this salon and met Otto!! I moved to the area in September and have tried two different hair salons and was unsatisfied with how my hair turned out, and then I discovered MT. Otto took the time to speak to me before my appointment and learn about my hair and what I wanted and explained how to care for it afterwards to maintain the results. Great stylists aiming at providing a great experience. You have options of experienced stylist which affects your price point. It can be a little confusing as to what that means. As one would think that all stylists should have the ability to provide any styling services with success and competency. I chose a level 2 stylist who pretty much butchered my hair requiring the owner to fix over the next 6 months. So, that's a concern. Honestly, this place was incredibly over priced! I came in with a balayage that had already been done by my previous hair stylist. I had faded color and just needed a refresh. They tried to rack up the cost by using 16 bowls of color when it was not necessary whatsoever. They kept packing the color on my hair until my head weighed as much as a bowling ball. I have long hair but not to the point of needing 16 bowls. At my usual hair salon, we'd use 2-3 bowls. A refresh/haircut at my hair salon cost $100-$200 (at most) where as I left this place spending almost $500 for a "refresh" and a "haircut". Are you kidding me?! Also, I have never had hair color transfer as much as this has. It's on my pillow case....after showers, It has splattered all over the bathroom door, wall, and floor like someone got murdered. It transfers on expensive white leather furniture. This is happening even after MANY washes. I never had this problem with my hair stylist. What is the issue? Low quality hair color? The haircut itself was horrible and I trusted this girl to listen to what I was saying but she insisted on doing what she thought would look "good". She gave me short choppy layers that are extremely blunt and now I look like I have a mullet. My hair is so short and choppy all over that I cannot curl without it laying weird nor can I put my hair in braids because all the short pieces stick out like a broomstick. I am VERY particular with my hair as I don't trust anyone other than my hair stylist back at home. I had major anxiety the entire time but I gave everyone the benefit of the doubt. The hair color looks amazing and is very vivid so I will give them that. If you don't mind spending a ton of money and you don't care about how your hair is cut then by all means go here but if you are very particular like I am just simply avoid this place at all costs. read more

Possibly the worst salon I've ever been to. Incompetent, inefficient, sloppy & unprofessional. I live half the year in New Jersey & use Lynne Franks at The Salon at Manalapan who is the absolute best colorist. If I need lowlights, she paints them in. If my hair looks too dark, she hairpaint a few highlights...all st no charge. Otto at Michael Thomas wants to believe he's a good colonist & hair stylist but unfortunately he's neither. One time when my hair looked too light, I asked if he could just pull my base color thru in a few places. When I went to check out I saw he had charged me $150 for balayage!! They also wouldn't allow me to dry my own hair after my appointment...said other customers complained. Strange since there was hardly anyone else EVER in the salon when I was there. The reason for this is that they want to CHARGE you for a blow dry. So one day I allowed Otto, who always says he knows how to do fine, wavy hair, which I have , to dry my hair. A disaster!! It was honestly embarrassing, what a horrendous job he did. And just for the record, I just got a haircut in Atlanta, Georgia by Pascal Bensimon, who is a fantastic hairstylist at the St. Regis Hotel & guess what???? I DRIED MY OWN HAIR!!! Bottom line...stay away from this salon. They want to think they're top notch but they're really the bottom of the barrel. read more

First appointments with a new stylist can be nerve wracking...will they get it right, will I like it, etc..especially for those of us who are Naples "transplants"... I am pleased to say that my first appointment with Otto, at the Michael Thomas Salon was a 10 on a scale of 1-10! We spent some time prior to the actual appointment, and Otto checked out my hair, asked what I wanted and made some suggestions.. On the day of the appointment, he was ready..my hair is exactly the way I wanted it and what we discussed..possibly better! He was able to interpret my former colorist's hair formula and even improved upon it. Otto is a hair artist who listens and creates a hairstyle that flatters..what more could a woman ask for? I spend the season here in Naples, so obviously I needed to find a hair salon. I've tried a few others that were quite expensive with mediocre results. So, I took a chance and scheduled with Otto. The first time I went, I was trying to let my hair grow out. Otto texturized and put on a conditioning treatment as my hair is very dry. A few weeks later, I decided to go back to short hair. I've been to two different people here for a color and cut, both were amazing. They both listened to exactly what I said and wanted and executed it perfectly. Also, everyone was extremely friendly and fun to talk to. They also don't over charge and you can select the level of stylist that you want based on experience or cost. I went with a mid level person and was extremely happy and impressed. Also I had my hair styled the first time I went with curls and they looked great for an event that night and I didn't even schedule it for a professional hair styling. I also had a consultation for taped in hair extensions and the person that met with me was very honest about the process and did not just try to sell me on the product which she realized was not what would have been the best thing for me given what I was looking for, which I really appreciated because I was going to get them for my destination wedding not realizing the commitment they wound have put me in. read more

The salon is gorgeous and well laid out. Very comfortable which was important since had to be there several hours to undo the damage I did. When I left you'd never know that it had been pretty frizzy/dry/damaged when I came it. It was exactly what I envisioned it looking like. A gorgeous hue of red and so silky and soft! Everyone there was super friendly and I can't wait for my next appointment! I was going to Michael Thomas when I was diagnosed with cancer. Sandy, Denise and Michael all knew this. They were always sweet, while they were pushing their products. You would believe they cared, but not. I should have known better given my age. Sandy's work was horrible. Michael helped Sandy who was just as horrible. They charged alot of $$ for subpar work. I paid $300 for a visit that yellowed and had tobe all cut away. Then as they were opening another spa, my granddaughter wanted smooth hair. I forget the process. They charged $600 , because they said she needed coloring etc. It lasted 2 weeks. I have not been there since then. It' s like a hair automated line. Want you in and out. They don't care about end product. I tried toget a call back from Denise. Nothing. Please don't waste your money!! It's all lights and smoking mirrors. read more

Recently relocated from NY, I have had to search for a salon who has a trained teamed not only in cutting, but their knowledge of product to meet my needs is above and beyond. Their knowledge on how hair must be cut while living in humid weather conditions was eye opening. The salons are updated, hair techs are sent to NY for education each year. The support staff are 200% customer oriented. Katie and team are outstanding! Highly recommend this salon. I started to go to Michael Thomas when I came down here for the season. I found the Salon online, read a little about each stylist, went on Facebook and read some reviews and decided to give it a chance. The Salon is trendy, and modern with an air of sophistication. I observed some of the other stylists and their "finished" product and was pleased. I chose to go to Gabe who patiently asked me what I liked and expected from my haircut. Well I have been going to someone in Chicago for many many years and hoped he could match her sense of excellence and skill! Gabe is outstanding - he is Excellent, Skilled, Innovative, and it was one of my best haircuts. The Salon has an amazing assortment of products and they are trained to try and pick what works best with your hair and what you are trying to achieve. How better to introduce and try a product with absolutely no pressure of purchasing it. To further enhance my experience I received a phone call the next day from Gabe asking me how I liked my haircut and how it was working out for me, Needless to say I have been going back ever since and each time I go in he genuinely asks how did my haircut work out for me.
