I gave her 4 stars because I had come in looking for a specific shade of red after seeing all the fun colors she has posted. I showed her a photo for reference and she suggested a dye that would still dye my dark brown hair red without having to bleach first. So we tried it but it didn't take very well and left some areas orange, brown and dark red. She was incredibly willing to fix it and we tried again. She added bleach(?) On a few spots around my head instead of the whole head which I had never seen before so I assumed it was some new way of making this work and then she washed it out and applied the dye onto wet hair (which again I thought was different) and let me sit at the sink for about 20 min. The end result appeared washed out/faded and not evenly colored at all and I would have been happy to live with it as it wasn't terrible but this color needed to be on point for my wedding. I do not want this to be a knock on Jenny what so ever, like I said she was awesome and the cut was perfect, unfortunately tho I had to make the decision to go to another salon to go over her color with the shade I needed. The lady that was cleaning (im sad i didnt catch her name) asked me to take a seat in the waiting area while she finished sweeping and I waited no more than 5 minutes before she asked me to sit in the salon chair. I showed her some inspiration pictures and she let me know she would start slow and make sure the length was right before we continued. I appreciate that type of approach. Overall im very happy with the cut and the price. Everyone there seemed friendly and by the time I left there were at least 4 people waiting for their turn. Would definately come back again.

On September 10, just four days after my haircut, I went back to your salon because I didn't like how it looked. You were completely freaking out, asking your receptionist who I was and why I was there instead of simply asking me. Only after I introduced myself ("Filomena, it's Carla from Chile") did your attitude change. Because my English is limited and your Spanish isn't good either, I made sure to write down and translate exactly what I wanted to say so I could explain it politely: "Hi Mena, I called you but you didn't answer. Since I left work early, I came because I had the time. It's not a big deal, I just don't like my haircut because it's flat and I want layers." At first, even though you only wanted to give me a lesson on how to style my hair, I said yes, I wanted your help. But when you started giving opinions about my face shape and telling me you had already done "many" layers, as if to say I didn't need more, that's when I decided to tell you no -- because it's not up to you to decide whether I like my own hair or not. I paid you over $500. And honestly, if after 30+ years in this business you still haven't figured out how to treat your clients with respect, maybe you should ask for a refund on that "experience" -- because clearly three decades haven't been enough for you to learn.
