The entire experience is so comfortable that before you know it, you've gone from chit chat to insightful advice to great conversation to a person you have complete trust in. So when my daughter said, that for her 15th birthday all she wants was to be "MORE BLONDE", I knew exactly where to go and who to call for help. The Battlefield location is super convenient and located near lots of great restaurants and things to do, not to mention right off of several major roads and highways. Sadly, I'm moving on for work, not too far, but luckily with the hair cuttery app I can always plan to book my appointments ahead of time for when I will be in town. Would highly recommend adding a few extra stars because Chandler is a one of a kind true "Master Stylist". Ps. Kari said her hair is "Epic" and will be back to see you for more appointments in the future. Thank you so much Chandler, best haircut I've ever had and somehow you make magic happen out of hat hair and bed head

Will definitely be back and request her services again. Thank you; such a sweet wholesome aura!! Very welcoming atmosphere, greeted soon as I walked in. I didn't have an appointment. The salon was very clean. All of the products used in my hair smelled absolutely amazing as well. None of the products felt heavy or super oily either and that's a plus. I just cut off my locs I had for the last six years and I came in to get my tiny afro shaped up so when my hair grows out my curls can be defined into a cute style. Thank you Hair Cuttery!!

Each appointment feels like a pleasant visit with an old friend that ends too soon. Michael has NEVER disappointed... not even a little bit. You walk in feeling like yourself and walk out wondering why there isn't a red carpet when you're feeling like a billion bucks. Yes, that's right, not a million, but a billion. Where are the paparazzi when you're looking this good? ;) Michael isn't scissor-happy unless you want him to be. He aims to please and honestly, you can tell he sets lofty standards for himself which is evident in the completed project. You won't get better color anywhere and the blow-out leaves you ready for the next photoshoot, but alas, you realize it's just a feeling you get and not reality. The final result just makes you feel that way. Why he isn't doing hair for the super-elite rich and famous is a mystery, but for now, I'm just glad that he's my hairstylist and plan to keep it that way. A secret like this is hard to keep, but seriously, he is the best-kept secret in the area. Hairstylist just doesn't seem fitting and hair artist... meh. He is the Michaelangelo of hair. If only my review could depict how good he really is, but this will have to suffice. I'm grateful to have found him.

Well, whoever booked my appointment and chose my stylist chose to ignore my request and book me with a stylist who is a new grad. That was the first mistake. I went in there, asking for highlights and to go back brunette because my hair was auburn. So I wanted a simple brunette with a partial highlight to add a bit of dimension. Long story short, my hair has so many different colors going on, some parts are overly processed, and then the top parts were not lifted for long enough and are still very copper because she was very slow at placing foils. I was there for over four hours, and this is the result? And at the bare minimum, nobody should walk out of a professional salon with color stains all over their face. * My hair stylist was Gena Day * When I called about my concerns, the manager offered to have me come in and fix it but only gave me 1 time slot availability which was not a time I was available for. So she ended up refunding me 50% of what I paid. The crazy part is she didn't even agree that my hair looked like crap and she defended the work. I think it's simple to say there were mistakes performed and apologize. But whatever.

Unfortunately it was canceled on me a week before I was supposed to leave, so I reached out to Coastal Roots. Thankfully they were able to schedule me at the last minute with H. I knew I would likely be getting a stylist with minimal experience as it was such short notice, but I was okay with that since I only needed a single process color treatment to address my grays (and they are minimal at that) and not anything especially skillful like a balayage. The staff were all very friendly and the salon itself was trendy, cute, and clean with a lot of product offerings. But overall I was very disappointed in the service...first, H had asked me if I'd wanted to do a darker color on my roots since "sometimes they look lighter than the rest of your hair so doing a darker root will give you a more natural look" (or something to that effect). I was very confused by this but agreed since I was trusting her professional opinion. After I had time to really consider this though, I genuinely believe that was her solution to the problem of roots lightening more than the rest of your hair color caused by the heat from your scalp as it processes instead of just applying to the roots last?? And, of course, this "necessary" darker color meant extra product, which in turn meant additional charges. Not necessarily a big deal, but the kicker was when she was fully done and she was taking my cape off and I leaned forward toward the mirror to stand up and I could see multiple grays all throughout my hair! I asked, "Am I still seeing grays?" (a.) because I genuinely thought it could possibly be the lighting, and if it wasn't, b.) this is about as "confrontational" as I'm capable of being), to which she replied, "Oh, hmm...yeah...only a few though." I was a little shocked at how cavalier she was, and I recognize I could have probably made a bigger stink about it and gotten it fixed. However, I'm beyond uncomfortable behaving like that, and in my mind it was my job to point it out to her and once she recognized it and didn't herself offer any sort of rectification or even think it was an issue, I wasn't going to press it. Not to mention I had already spent over THREE hours in her chair for what should have been a simple treatment, and I was leaving the next day to go overseas and simply didn't have the time. I'm sure there are much better experiences to be had at this salon with a more experienced stylist. But given that I spent more than $150 for the most entry level stylist on a treatment that I just did MYSELF at home last night using AGEbeautiful products for less than $20, I definitely don't think it's worth it.
