How it came out. The back and sides are completely different and she had enough hair there

I have been a client of Brian's hair services since 2019. Although I had heard negative comments about his character from individuals I personally know who have worked with him, I did not take their concerns into consideration as they did not affect my experience with him. He had cut my hair on several occasions, and aside from the long wait times, I had never encountered any issues. Recently, I decided to take my daughter to him on August 7th. The day prior, I visited him to show him a video of her hair and a picture of the style and color he had done for someone else. He quoted me $220, but I asked if he would accept $180 considering I am a repeat customer, my daughter is a teenager, and I have referred numerous clients to him. He agreed. My daughter arrived at 10:00 am, but Brian was not yet present, which was the usual. At 12:00 pm, I took a break from work and drove 30 minutes to check on her progress. Everything seemed to be going well, although the color did not exactly match the picture. I was fine with that because I know it's a process and it won't be exact. I left and returned to work. At 2:30pm my daughter sent me a picture of the color and it's nothing like the picture. She stated she didn't like it. I told her it still looks good but I'll just call and ask what happen out of curiosity. I called Brian I said "hey it's me my daughter is there getting a cut." His first response was confrontational saying. "No she's not getting a cut, she's almost done." I disregarded that and asked about the difference in color. He says to me "you only had $180 and I worked with your budget. " He said "that style and color is $400!" I was so confused of so many things, the attitude, the defensiveness. So I said I showed you a picture you said $220, you should have said $400. So you're telling me it cost half more to color the rest of her hair? Doesn't make sense. I said "I'm not calling to confront I just like clarity. He says "I'm not going to have this conversation right now because I have a customer." and hung up Still trying to overstand what was all that disrespect for as if I'm not a paying customer as well for many years, and if you have a customer in front of you why are you acting out like that in front of another customer without controlling your demons. I asked my sister to go over there to see what's going on. He says to my sister very nice and calm he didn't want to color all of my daughter's hair so light to damage it. Which is totally understandable. That's all he had to say to me. I guess he wants to be more careful now after his lawsuit. I was taken back by his disrespect and lack of professionalism. Anywho, I had to visit the salon myself as my daughter's hair was not finished until 6:40 pm, and her phone was dead. Despite being a reasonable and easy-going person, I felt disrespected and unsatisfied with the service. The final result did not match the picture, and my daughter was unhappy with her hair. I have come to realize that the allegations I had heard about Brian's behavior were true. Every time I visited him, there were new workers and a new location, indicating a lack of consistency and stability. His unprofessional behavior was unacceptable, and my daughter did not attend her event because she hates it. It wasn't about the difference in color for me the back and sides were way too low.

My hair after trusting Brian to be a mentor

I was shocked to say the least when my scalp was still irritated days after the service, I wrote to B Andrew sent pictures and when he sent me a picture of Neosporin it was then that I knew I was not dealing with a professional I'm diagnosed with chemical burns and alopecia due to chemical burns I do not advise!

2 weeks after initial silk-press. I was pushin it, but the snow kinda caught me
Shanice W.

Jasmine is the best when it comes to natural hair. She did my first silk press back in 2015 and my bounce back was real (will include pics). She never overheats, cuts too much, or does too many passes with the flatiron. She also detangles prior to washing. I first met her randomly at a hair salon in Brooklyn, she was so amazing that I had to go back a second time. I found out that she did not work there anymore and received such an uneven trim that I decided to try another salon for a silk press. I went to H2 and actually received the worst heat damage in my natural hair history. Scarred and scared, I decided I didn't need heat if I couldn't find Jasmine. I went on a google spree with her first name and the salon where I met her, found an interview she did while working there, googled her full name with different salon terms and came across a phone number on a deactivated online account (I know that was kind of stalkerish, but all for a good cause lol). I reached out to the number via text and lo & behold, she replied. Since then, she has been my go-to stylist, and I will continue to go to her wherever she goes. You will not regret going to her. She is an honest and caring stylist; it doesn't get better than that. Will include pics of her silk presses in the past.

This is my hair 2 days after attempting to moisturize it. It turned straight instead of returning to it's curly 4B/C pattern.

This was my first time going here and I almost didn't go because of some of the comments. But that was not my experience at all. And the salon was clean!

I came in and showed her the reference picture for the balayage I wanted and instead she gave me bright single toned red highlights. I told her I wanted a balayage because I wanted it to be blended and didn't want any color starting from the roots and she did the complete opposite. Not only does she not listen to that clients request, but she was visibly upset because I asked to detangle my own hair after she tried to aggressively dry brush my curls out from the roots. Once the color was done and I told her I wasn't happy with how streaky and unblended it looked. I also told her I didn't like the color because it's much brighter than the reference picture I showed her. She said she would gladly fix it but didn't want to "over process" my hair so she asked me to come back in when I have time. This was on a Saturday and they are closed Mondays and Tuesdays. I called back on Wednesday to schedule an appointment, to which she responded with threats of charging me again if I didn't come in before Saturday because she has a policy of 1 week only. When I told her She never shared this policy with me before, she said " I'm not talking to this annoying girl" and hung up on me. I called back and she hung up on me again. She then texted me blaming me for the results. This was such a horrible experience and a waste of money. Please do not come to her. The only "okay" part of the experience was the lovely Spanish lady Natalia who jumped in to re-blow dry my hair after the owner Lidia almost burn my hair trying to blow dry it. How do you have 30yrs of experience but don't even know how to work on curly hair? Ridiculous.

I prefer to go to a hair salon because otherwise it seems everyone wants to give you a buzz cut. Being new to the area, I found Linda's salon on Yelp. Basic points about the salon: 1. It's big and well-established - They seem equipped to do a huge range of things for women, above and beyond the other places. They also were much cleaner, spiffier, and were twice the size of any other place I passed by. The salon's also been used for women on some of the makeover TV shows. 2. Great, helpful staff - Really friendly, and I liked them a lot. They gave me a lot of pointers about the area, which I really appreciated. 3. Fluent English speakers - I know it's the Bronx, but three places I'd visited nearby struggled to answer me when asking "can you give me a haircut?". Seemed like decent salons, but made me worried about how I'd further convey the "no buzz cut" concept :) 4. Surprisingly good price - $15 for a haircut. 5. Good haircut - My wife approved and liked it. They didn't scalp me or get scissor-happy or anything, I thought it was a good haircut too. I'd recommend this place to women to try out - seems like the best salon place within three miles of here. I'd recommend it to men too.
