this store is horrible! EVERYONE is rude ( besides the security guard and the thick asian woman) the black woman with the Jamaican accent is disgusting, disrespectful and rude, i grabbed a few items and was extremely sure of the price she rings them up and it's dollars away from what i was sure of. No problem, so i put something back and she says "you couldn't afford it anyway" like girl you work at a hair store scanning MY items, who do you think you are???? then it's not her first time having an attitude she needs to find a new job because this one clearly isn't for her ignorant ass read more

I hate this stores much. I went in there to buy Bigen hair dye, nothing else paid $5.16 for proceeds to walk out and I start beeping. Sis at the door needs to go through my bag talking about lip gloss. Im pissed and I'm suing. We as a black community spends so much money there and they won't even give out bag. Im done i hope not another black person buy anything from them again. read more

CUSTOMER SERVICE: You have to watch the prices when they ring up your items! I paid for the items, then I checked the receipt, it was incorrect. I pulled the item out of the bag, still standing at the counter, and showed the clerk that I was being charged extra. So I asked for a reimbursement or for her to ring up my order again with the correct price on the sticker..., she refused and told me all sales were final. How are all sales final? I haven't even left the store...ma'am you rang up the wrong price! It turned into me having to ask her to get the manager! She refused for a good 10 minutes, then finally pointed to where the manager was and told me to go myself. I felt that was so unfair and I wanted to cancel my whole purchase which was almost $40.I stood my ground, refusing to move, and she finally went to the manager who instructed her to give me my money back for that item ...Jeez ! I have mobility issues. and I am almost 70 years old, very difficult people to deal within this store Every time I go in there, there is a problem I could tell you another story but that's for another day. The store is well-stocked though read more

I was at hair buzz near united buffet called home depot mall. I had the most awful experience at that store. This location there was a very racist rude and condescending woman who was Chinese harassing me. I could nor believe it. It was like I was thrown back into the 60s with racist store owner and classis. The hairbuzz at or near Roosevelt mall is so full of wonderful kind and respectful customer service folks. When I walked into this location I was shocked by the lack of professionalism and rudeness. With that woman's behavior there is no way her store will be as success as the hair buzz near Roosevelt mall. if you have a choice go to hair buzz at or near Roosevelt mall. Love this beauty supply store. Not only is it for me nearby, but the variety of products they carry. This beauty supply store carries so many brands and good quality products. Highly recommend this beauty supply store if you are looking for a large selection and quality. read more

Silly bag check in policy. I came in for one bar of soap and the process--going through my bag, checking it at the front in a cart, a shopping cart, and giving me a tag--was so ridiculous and frustrating that I just ended up leaving. If anyone was so inclined I have no doubt they'd be able to bypass the aging security guy at the front and steal all the stuff that people left checked at the front of the store. All of this because the owners are worried about you stealing 3 dollar hair products. Don't shop here. Don't give these people your money. read more

Customer service is trash. Most of the staff is unhelpful and the language barriers aren't an incentive to patronize here either. The two stars are for the selection of goods available but that's about it. read more

I beeped walking into the store and I told the security officer my purse sometimes beeps, I'm not sure why. He proceeds to ask me what's in my purse and goes to reach for it. I said excuse you, you have no right to reach for my bag, I was walking INTO the store, how could I have stolen anything?! I turned around and walked right back out. This isn't the 1st incident at this store but it's the last, because I won't be back. read more

Today I called the store to ask about a wig, the woman answered the phone, angrily, asking Am I the one who just cussed her out"? and when I said, No! She then says aggressively, "How can I help you? I called for a Manager and of course no one answered. I'm never spending my money here again. I understand being cussed out in customer service, but you have to maintain professionalism regardless of your roll in the establishment. read more

This supply store has a wide variety of products which is great but just know that they overcharge on all of them. I spoke to the store manager and asked why his products were more than what the manufacturer charged (especially since he's buying wholesale), but Buzz's mark-up is extreme. He had no answer and walked away., They cater to a majority Black clientele and know they are making a killing off of us so just be mindful and know that there are other beauty supply stores that charge the true value, and I would suggest ordering from the manufacturer directly, the shipping can be expensive but sometimes manufacturers offer free shipping. One thing for sure I won't be shopping at Hair Buzz. read more

Man at the front wouldn't let me in with 10 minutes left open of the store. So rude especially since I spend a decent amount of money here all the time. Need to put correct times written on the website. read more

Went into this store to get clips and mousse. The sign on the shelf said the clips were $2.49. When the woman rung up my order, the clips came to $3.99. I told her the price was wrong and what the shelf price said. After snapping a picture and showing the woman at the register, she came with me to the location and saw for herself that the price indeed said $2.49. Soo she tells me I have to talk to the manager and tells me to go find him. I told her, no, you need him to come here to change this. The manager then looks for himself at the shelf price, and then says, "the price is wrong", and snatches the wrong sign off of the clips. I told the manager that he has to honor the original sign because that is what he marketed the sign for the clips. He was adamant about trying to explain, and when I realized that the manager/owner of this store was not going to honor the original price, I left. Any store greedy enough to not admit their faults, or honor the price listed does not deserve my business. Here is the pic of the price of the clips. I will not be going back to this store--there are more honest and less greedy places, than this! read more

Never again. I've been here years before and wasn't thrilled by the rude people at the counter. Nevertheless I went to the store because it was on my way. Tonight I walk in and the alarm at the door goes off. A guy approaches me and says he needs to verify I caused the alarm. I go back to the door and it alarms. Guy then states he needs to check my purse. Of course I'm upset as I just walked inside the store from outside and stated this out loud. The other employees say he's going to desensitize my purse. I reluctantly allow him to handle my bag. The guy says he won't go through it and sits it on a black pad. Then he waves it at the alarm. Nothing happens. He gives me my purse and says I should walk pass the alarm because it might be my coat. I grab my purse and walked out. Yes, the guy apologized for the inconvenience but SERIOUSLY. I felt the situation to be highly problematic, harassing, and insulting. Nothing in that store is worthy me having to walk back and forth pass the alarm as if I'm a criminal...... especially when they all watched me walk into the store. And now that I think about it. I hope this guy didn't "desensitize" my work badge. The only thing in my bag was paper, my license, and my badge. I've never had an issue alarming at any other store. read more

This store has a lot of products in stock but horrible customer service. I called around 11am on a weekday to ask about a certain product that I know they have in stock, just to find out if they had a certain color. The staff person said they don't have anything in that brand, which I knew was not true. I said I know you carry that brand so maybe you're not looking in the right place. The staff person became indignant and said "well you can come in and look yourself!" I called again and the same person answered. Since I knew that dealing with her was a dead end, I asked to speak to a manager or someone with a better customer service attitude. The salesperson shouted "No, they're busy!" So I went to the store, arriving about 30 minutes after my call. There were hardly any customers in the store and there were about 6 staff people, 4 of whom were doing nothing. 2 were at cash registers (with no customers), 2 were walking along in the aisles, and 2 were unpacking boxes. I went to the area where my desired product is usually located, and there it was: Numerous packages of my product in the brand I like. See photos. I asked to speak to the store manager. He was polite and apologized but didn't say much more than that. I'm not sure that he knew which salesperson took my call and provided the rude customer disservice and not sure that he cared! My suggestion is to go elsewhere or buy online. When you have sales people who are too lazy and ignorant to look for a product when there are virtually no customers in the store, it's hopeless! Retailers who want their brick & mortar stores to survive should pay a little more and hire some decent help. As for me, I'll buy online! Good riddance to poor customer service and businesses who really don't appreciate your business. read more

Attention Family and Friends; do not under any circumstances buy from this store. I was just accused of stealing and harassed by four employees. I was surrounded by two male employees and two female employees who physically attempted to grab my purse. I remained calm and even toned during the entire confrontation. When it was confirmed I didn't steal anything, I asked for the proprietors contacted information and my request was denied. It was not until I called the police did the employees comply. I will make it my business not to shop there and I strongly suggest you do too. This started after I made my purchase; where I paid with a major credit card and had to verify I was the card holder by showing my ID. Why would I take anything if I willingly spent my money? read more

.I came back to return a product I purchased. It seemed the product was already used and opened. The manager was very rude to me saying "No NO....NO" You can't do the return. EVEN after showing him my receipt. The sales associates(women walking around) are NOT professional they're rude. Making ignorant comments in my face. They chimed in saying "My Business won't make them any difference". It's NOT professional in there at all. Management was not at all helpful. read more

This hair store has everything but Horrible customer service! These people are beyond rude and disrespectful!

Not a review of the actual salon, I have never been here, this area, or even heard of this place. However, my (stolen) card was used here by one of their clients so I am wondering what kind of security they have. read more

Normally I would go to hairtown but the last couple of times I have been here it's been ok but not a WOW. This particular time I just wanted to get in and get out. I figured since they have signs up that it should be fine. Well I was so wrong. I walked in and no one greeted me, everyone was on their phones or having side conversations. It had to be about 5 people up front. I got to the section and was thinking this section makes no sense, so I go and asked someone that worked there for help. Even he was lost but Still told me which sign went with which one. (so I thought) I get up to the register and waited 3 minutes because both cashier's was on their phones and wouldn't look up just to have her ask someone else for a price and they still tried to give me the wrong price. I had another girl show me where she found that price and they tried to argue me up and down about the price. When I explain to them that they had 3 different prices up there they tried to tell me which one went with which one. The one with the price I wanted to pay wasn't even in the section where the sign was. At this point they were making me late for my appointment on how unorganized they are. I just pick something. Honestly I never been to a place that not to long ago open and is so unorganized, unprofessional and disrespectful, in my life. I would just go to Hair town down the road. I really should knew it was gonna be a shit show when the workers tell me the manager put the sign up this way and they are willing to go back and forth with a paying customer. If you want to go to a place where they are like this they this is your place!!!! read more
