Recently, patronize this store, never again!!!!!!!! Manager was rude, and condescending!!!!! I got a cart to lean on. Manager regulated me by silently letting me know that was unacceptable, by stalking and staring, then has I'm about to check out, and an employee came over to where I was at, "dusting" Quote unquote. And sprayed dust all in my face with a compressed 13000 RPM DUSTER!!!! Then thought it was funny!!!¡!!!! Had to go to eye emergency room! When confronted with their wrong doing they play dumb, these business owners know they won't be held accountable that's why their so comfortable disrespecting certain customers such as myself. Hair Town is the place to go for anything hair! I've never seen another store like it for wigs, extension, hair products, etc. If you are looking for a blow dryer, curling irons, hair color, conditioners whatever........Hair Town has it. They even carry some clothing, jewelry, and house products. I feel the prices are competitive. The reason they get 3 stars is because you are under surveillance the whole time you're there. They try to hide it, but you know they are watching. They have very poor customer service as well, when you need help finding a product. They have a great (enormous) wig selection! But.....you are only allowed to try on 3 wigs, and you must buy a wig cap for $1. I can understand to a point because people do play and try on wigs for no reason and don't plan on buying anything. If you are a serious buyer and plan on buying a few, this is a problem. I do understand shoplifting is a real problem as well, but very offensive to a person like me. I have been to this Hair Town many times and know what to expect, I go in, get what I need, and I'm out! My advice would be to upgrade your customer service, and you would have a great store. read more

I employ black Americans to not shop this store, these people do not respect your $$, they sell faulty products and refuse to take them back. yea I opened the crochet locs to use and that's when I found out they were faulty the other pack I didn't open. I wanted an exchange for the faulty product and they would not take their product back nor give me exchange for the product that was open( how do you know a product is defective until you try to use, the workers always look miserable and the owners have a smug attitude and treat you like trash like it's your fault they selling a product that is defective. if you respect yourself and your money you won't support this business. it is unethical to sell someone a product that is defective and not offer resolution these people look down on you and only want your $$$ read more

More like a hair museum lol, but my first time stopping in and I was pleasantly overwhelmed. There were rows and rows and rows...and then some more rows of hair! I didn't know where to start or end but I winded up looking at closures and bundled hair which was decently priced for the length I was looking for. When I got back to the front there were all kinds of doo-dads that I couldn't help but searching through...Cleaning stuff, soap, accessories, etc. Staff was also decent. I would recommend taking a trip to see this museum (store) yourself. read more

Not sure that this business upholds the same values of providing quality customer service as other stores do. There is no value in the consumer/customer. Here there is no "thank you for shopping with us, please come again," there is no customer appreciation day, coupons or a "hi, can I help you find anything?" There is no "satisfaction guarantee." I looked at their merchandise policy, and it is geared toward their interest, not the customers. One example: exchange only!! That's problematic. The prices aren't competitive either. There is a lack of respect for it's shoppers and they've been at this location for years. Why have they not given back community that they are in, in some way? What's even more disappointing is that they (those operating the store) are not consumers of almost all of the products that they sell. This review is of their relationships with its customers from my observation of my recent visit. Please be conscious to shop at reputable places that values your patronage. Ask yourself when you go in and leave out, if you feel like a valued customer. If you do not, then that's a problem. You deserve to shop somewhere else where you are valued! Yes, this little suburban girl is writing a review of Hair Town, which just happens to be one of my very favorite stores around. Why? First of all, it is called Hair Town (A WHOLE FRIGGIN TOWN OF HAIR!), and as Andrew M. pointed out, the name is fabulous. And as Kimberly P. said, it is like a supermarket of hair supplies. I could spend hours just roaming the aisles, which is a pretty darn good way to spend a cold, rainy day. Plus, I like wigs. A lot. So much that I think I'm gonna start wearing one just because it seems like fun. Yes, people might think that's strange, but I'm ok with that. There are much stranger things I could be doing, right? And besides, it's highly unlikely that I'm going to grow long, dark hair with perfect bangs (a la Jenny Schecter from The L Word) overnight. The staff is really friendly and helpful and they'll answer all your questions, from hair colors to styling tools, to yes, wigs. There's nothing bad I can say about Hair Town...I only wish I lived there. It sounds much cooler than Philadelphia. read more

COVID cleaning measures are pathetic. Baskets are only sprayed ever 30 minutes. Asked for a disinfectant cleaning wipe to wipe down the basket. I was escorted to the display of wipes to buy. Stores are supposed to clean the baskets, not require customers to buy the wipes in order to clean the store's baskets. With businesses not doing the bare minimum of CDC and state level recommendationsand requirements, then the store should not be open. This makes it difficult for all small businesses. Thank God I had cleaning wipes in my purse. read more

I was very disappointed to learn that they do not allow their customers to use their restrooms. The cashier told me to use the bathroom at Chipotle or Chic-Fil-A. I died and went to hair Valhalla! I just moved to the area (to the hick town of Red Hill) and I was seriously considering moving because I was suffering from acute beauty product separation anxiety. I couldn't find any of my "usual suspects" (i.e. hair products, wigs, weaves, etc.) and I was desperate. That is, until I stumbled upon Hair Town--rows and rows of the most amazing extensions, wigs, and hair supplies!!! I spent about 2 hours and $200! Ask me do I feel guilty. HELL NO! **Also, if lace fronts are your thing (if you have no idea what "lace front" means, stop reading...NOW), they have an entire section devoted to them and they have stylists who will do the taping and styling of your new hair for a mere $20! They do amazing (and quick) work. This place is defnitely a must if you're addicted to all things hair. read more

Hair Town is like a supermarket of hair supplies, tools and hair. Literally, you could spend hours in this place just looking at styling implements. When I was last there, I found a shampoo that I thought had been out of production for years. Every person who works there is a licensed stylist so they are really knowledgeable about what product should work for your hair. Now, if you are ever interested in getting a weave or buying a wig, this is also a great place for you. When I first saw their wall of hair and weave, I did not think that such a thing was even possible. They probably have almost every weave brand known to man. This is definitely the place to go before any hair styling. read more

Great place to get cheap plastic barrettes for my daughter, there is a fantastic selection! The back of the store that showcases wigs (ranging in price from $3.99 to $499.00) is well worth the trip. Overall a great selection of hair, products and adornments. read more

They've got hair, fake hair, things to put in or on your hair, machines to manipulate your hair, chemicals to remove, color or curl your hair...Hair Town probably has your hair needs covered. The shop isn't fancy, but the selection is large and parking is easy. I couldn't determine how good the prices are. This is usually my go to place when I buy my wigs until recently. The wigs were a bit out of date but yesterday I've seen they have stepped their game up with more recent styles. My only complaint is the customer service. I like when the Asian women work with you in the back, but these new stuck up black girls are no help at all. They never asked me did I need any help. They were too busy talking about what they were gonna do this weekend while they were brushing wigs. I will return when they leave. read more

At least they gave you a refund for your bad hair. I was just told that I have to bring my bank statement for proof of purchase and they they will complain to the hair company and If they feel I have a valid complaint, then MAYBE I can get a refund. Terrible customer service. Employees are racist even though black people keep the store running. As a stylist, I enjoy visiting different beauty supply stores whenever possible. Hairtown is one of the most disappointing. The staff is uninterested in retaining customers. Maybe because they provide an endless amount of supplies for those in need of beauty items, they have no need to be kind and provide professional courtesies to individuals. When inquiring about an item, they brushed me off and was uninterested in trying to accommodate me. In addition, many items are way overpriced. Will not be back. Ever. read more

So I called to see if they had the Outre Dominican Blow out lace front. The woman who answered the phone said they did. I drive all the way out there. Annnnnnnd guess what they don't have it!!! The customer service in this store is horrible. I recently purchased 2 bottles of fingernail polish along with other items from this store. Upon getting home, I noticed that the polish and the bottles were different from the one I had purchased before. I previously purchased a white polish with a frosty color; the two I purchased most recently were completely white (matte). I tried to exchange the polish for the correct one, along with my receipt, but was told by a very nasty women that she would not exchange the polish because the 7 days had expired on the receipt. I was only asking for an exchange, not a refund. I told her that I would never shop there again, and I will make sure that I keep that promise. read more
