*Haines Packs a Big Punch* My mom likes it here. Yelp seems to like it here. Now you can add me & wifey to the list. Sometimes life gets in the way and unable to try new places. But Haines Packing Fish Market has been on my radar ever since they docked ship. Was everything we expected and more. The customer service too. Cute store with some other grocery items... Wifey mentioned it's the first time here...so one of the owners included a nice package of Wild King Salmon for FREE to go along with packages of Sand Dads and Sablefish. The Sand Dabs and Sablefish was Fantastico. Prices are very reasonable -- especially for the quality. Looking forward to the Salmon and Halibut...and return visits when back in the area. Also want to try their Crab Cakes, Lobster and Sable Fish...and some catches of the day. It'd also like to express: Not all flash-frozen pre packaged fish is the same. But Haines has perfected their game. I eat fish more than any other source of protein. Sometimes I prefer the flash-frozen variety because it packs in the fish oil & flavor...and has a much longer shelf-life in the freezer. As this will be my final Yelp review for 2025...I highly recommend Haines. {{{Big-High-Five}}} Happy New Year read more

Many types of wild caught fish all neatly arranged. Easy to find near Longhorn. Can't wait to go again. read more

We picked up lobsters and crab cakes for a Sunday diner. You can't get one pound lobster tails at the market. On line they were 75 each plus 85 dollars for shipping for three! These were only about 57 dollars each and I picked them right up in La Quinta next to Costco. Our dinner was delicious and the crab cakes were full of crab. The nice gentleman even gave mom and I a can of salmon as well. We'll be back. read more

We tried Haines for the first time last week. We wanted some cod for simple fish sandwiches..... the gentleman there steered us to some Pacific Cod that would fit our purpose and I picked up some sand dabs also. The Cod sandwiches I made were fabulous and I made the sand dabs last night for dinner and they were delicious as well. Will definitely go back and purchase more and expand our fish selection! Give them a try..... you won't be disappointed read more

I have spent years looking for good fish to grill/cook at home. Although there are several grocery stores that have good fish, the product is inconsistent. Then I found Haynes packing... What a difference. So far we've had the halibut, black cod, and salmon.... And I'm going back this week for more ..if you like fish, you must try packing. read more

Imagine finding this gem here in the desert. We are seafood lovers and have been disappointed since Covid as we used to order directly from Alaska, but the prices and availability have made it difficult. Then we find Haines Packing and all is well. The staff is knowledgeable and helpful. The selection is fantastic and we have enjoyed everything including Salmon, Scallops, and King Crab legs. It's a nice, clean store that's easy to navigate. We are and will continue to be weekly customers. read more

We heard a commercial about Haines Packing on TV and took a ride out to La Quinta, it was a beautiful well organized store, Marc the manager was very helpful. We enjoyed the Crab cakes which were delicious and filled with chunks of crab, we loved the Salmon filets. We have the Halibut and Shrimp in our freezer and we have a small can of Smoked Salmon to be mixed with Cream Cheese as Bagel spread. We are already talking about our next trip to Haines. Hope you try it and hope you enjoy it. read more

Great quality, fair prices and friendly people that know their products. Needs a 6th Star. I come here on vacation and stock up for months.

On a winter getaway to the area we discovered this gem of a store. It was hard to believe the incredible variety and fresh frozen quality of the fish and seafood offered in the middle of the desert. Considering everything has to be shipped in, prices are very reasonable - especially for the Alaskan offerings from the store's own processing facilities. During our stay we returned three different times for cod, different types of salmon, crab cakes, scallops, black cod, and swordfish. read more

Best crab legs ever. Also the crab cakes. Salmon and halibut too. Every we've tried has been wonderful. Plus people are so friendly and helpful read more

Fantastic quality salmon! Friendly, knowledgeable service. Highly recommend the Coho Salmon.

Excellent products & reasonable pricing & is readily available here. This is the same Rietze family run business here -- that also owns and operates the fresh fish facility in Haines Alaska. So is factory direct and a great find with a large inventory. A great asset for our community & we sure enjoy shopping there. read more

Really happy with the seafood from this spot. We tried it on a recommendation of my wife's coworker. Small shop, the store is nothing fancy, but everything it needs to be. Good selection of fish and shell fish. Everything is frozen. From what they said everything is dry packed in Alaska. The COD and scallops were both really great. I'll definitely hit this spot again and again. read more

The best seafood in the whole Coachella valley. This is not a restaurant, but the sole outlet of an Alaskan seafood packing company. The owner lives in La Quinta and saw the lack of quality seafood in the area. The void was definitely filled when this place opened! Their Alaskan fish is excellent quality. The customer service was excellent as well. I wasn't quite sure what type of salmon to get, but the gentleman who helped me put together an order for me based on what I described. The store was clean and inviting. They have a variety of fish, including salmon, halibut, tuna, cod, lobster, crab, and spices to go with the variety of fish. The fish is fresh frozen, which is the best to buy in a desert community. read more

We enjoyed (and LOVED ) your freshly caught crab. Packed on Nov 27th, enjoyed on Nov 29th. So sweet and delicious. Don't buy your crab at Costco. Get it here!! Great selection of fish and seasonings. They just added organic produce. It would be great if they also sold fresh baked crusty bread. read more

This is the BEST seafood in the desert! I've tried making seafood at home before using seafood from Costco, Ralph's and Fisherman's Market, but they don't compare to what you will find at Haines. I've tried their halibut, coho salmon and lingcod...all delicious...and even cooking them in a cast iron skillet on my cooktop, had no "fishy" smell in my house. Mark, the manager, helped me pick the filets, gave me preparation tips, pointed me to Desert Dust seasoning, and even gave me a free can of smoked salmon (also delicious) because it was my first time in the store. Going back today for more. Highly recommend!! read more

The best fish available in the desert. We are so lucky to have access to this and the cost is reasonable for what you are getting. My favorite so far has been the wild Alaskan halibut. I prepared it many ways and each way is better than the next. I've also enjoyed both types of salmon as well as their scallops and even the lobster tails. The staff is friendly, the location is convenient. As a local chef, this is my go-to place for seafood . read more

As someone who is picky with seafood, this has been the best thing to happen to the Coachella Valley. The quality surpasses places on the coast. The staff are always friendly and helpful.
