I had been to therapy before, but not for such a prolonged amount of time. Dr. Brown has been an integral part of my emotional and spiritual recovery. She is warm, focused, and invested in her patients' healing. She uses EMDR which is necessary/helpful when dealing with trauma. It can be a frightening process, but helps get to the heart of what's causing the trauma. I always felt safe in her care, and would recommend her to anyone looking for some really deep therapy. A couple things to note: be sure to review her cancellation policy. And she did not accept my insurance, so treatment can hit your wallet pretty hard. But it's worth it.

She has very practical experience in life and that always builds my confidence when it comes to a therapist. She's experienced and provides real feedback and shows genuine interest. I think there is nothing's better than feeling like you can speak to someone and they help you make changes in your life instead of talking to someone who you feel like you're just updating every week. In therapy, you want to make progress not a life long commitment to attending therapy and I believe she understands that and her motivation is in making people feel good and productive.

All of our sessions were over Zoom (thanks to Covid), but nonetheless she made the environment feel safe, open, and connected, as if she were right there with you. Talking to her is like talking to an unbiased trusted friend. She makes all parties involved feel respected and heard. She doesn't take sides, but finds a way to make everyone feel like they have valid concerns and gives communication strategies to help navigate through tough conversations or hot buttons in a relationship. She's the first therapist I've ever worked with who has given actionable tools to use in everyday situations, instead of just listening and saying she'll see me next week. If you show up open and ready to work to see results, I have no doubt you'll be thrilled with your experience. I HIGHLY recommend her!

She intentionally integrated herself into what was already a NASTY divorce between my ex-spouse and myself. We took our 2 year old son to see her because he was acting out in preschool. Instead of focusing on my son, she inserted herself between my ex and I and went as far as to tell me that I "needed to stay with him". She definitely crossed professional lines and acted WAY out of her scope. She is a nightmare and did much more damage than good. The situation continued as she began to converse with my ex-spouse for months during and AFTER the divorce. It was horrible! Please seek other means of counseling, she is very unprofessional and the opposite of therapeutic. I should have reported her but the divorce was traumatizing enough. PLEASE AVOID!

This week, we walked in after a stressful trip to Disneyland (with two little kids, no less), and what could've turned into another argument actually became one of our most productive conversations. Sheena helped us slow down, name what was really going on under the surface, and find common ground instead of staying stuck in our usual dynamic of resentment or shutdown. We leave sessions feeling more like a team, even when we're dealing with big parenting challenges or feeling triggered. We've had therapists before who just gave advice or stayed too neutral, but Sheena actually gets in there with you and helps you work through the tough stuff. If you're a couple that loves each other but keeps hitting the same walls, Sheena is the real deal. We're so grateful for her.

We joke about it all these years later, but coming back for those follow up sessions would be exactly what I needed and truthfully, what I was lacking in my life. Whitney embodies compassion, care, empathy, and love and provides the safety of allowing me to show up as I am on any given day ready to help me unpack whatever I bring her. I came to her at a point in my life when I had shattered as a person. She has been by my side through some incredibly challenging times and there isn't anyone else that I would want in my corner when life happens. Whitney is an incredible therapist. I tried one avenue, but it just didn't work. So I went on a search for a different therapist. And that search went on day after day, hour after hour. I spoke to some, but nothing ever felt like it was the right fit. Until one day, when I was feeling defeated, I stumbled upon Whitney. I took a look at her website and read her reviews and felt hopeful for the first time in days. From the moment I first spoke to Whitney, I knew she was the one to help me. Two years later, and I can say with absolute certainty that choosing Whitney to be my therapist was one of the best decisions I have ever made. Whitney is compassionate, thoughtful, and incredibly knowledgeable.
