First, the office staff is…read moreaware that GPS systems can't quite get anyone there, yet fails to mention it to new patients. It'll send you across the street. But instead of warning your patients you just let them drive around, baffled, until they call you and you direct them to the proper building. Second, I found Dr. Cheema specifically because he is one of the only doctors in the area that handles substance abuse patients specifically on a Suboxone treatment plan, and ADHD issues. I knew it was starting off strange because the "receptionist "didnt care if I took a urine screen, standard for substance abuse patients, or even had any idea I should be taking one. Dr. Cheema himself he tells me he rarely takes Suboxone patients, only has about 5. I would have to immediatly cut my dose in half (that I have been on sucessfully for several years) and come in every two weeks for refills. $171 every appointment for him to even think about taking me for that treatment. So, not happening. The first appointment was $271 for Dr. Cheema to tell me he is only helping with half the issues I'm coming to him for. So why did I still have to pay full price for half the treatment? Not only that, but when I told the front office worker, she remarked someone should of told me his dosage regulations when I initially called. No one did. Third, Dr. Cheema tells me I obviously have ADHD. He prescribes me an ADHD treatment, Strattera. This is a non-stimulant treatment. Says he would like to try this first, because of my substance abuse background. Very understandable and I don't argue. I'm not there pill-seeking, I want help. These pills give me unwanted side effects. Dizziness, drowsiness and confusion. So much so they send me home from work and I don't remember driving home. I miss two days from work and have to file short-term disability so I don't get fired. (That will be complaint number 4.) I had thought I had expressed to him that my night factory job is very strenuous and fast paced and requires full attention at all times, lest someone or myself get hurt or production backs up. I spoke to him again in regards to the medication he prescribed and it's side effects being detrimental to my employment. Another $171 for a 10 minute video call. He asks if I knew much about a medication called Wellbutrin. I said I did not. He tells me it's an ADHD treatment medication. Nonstimulant again. Cool. I get home, look it up. IT IS NOT APPROVED BY THE FDA FOR ADHD TREATMENT. This man flat out lied to me. This "Doctor" lied to me. It's mainly prescribed for antidepressant and smoking cessation aid. He had also given me Trazadone to help with my sleeping, which I cannot take because it makes me too groggy, even at the half dose he recommended. Which, if you look it up, can also be misused by addicts. So why be so concerned with giving me one non misusable pill yet give me another? Makes no sense. Fourth, the handling of my short term disability. Absolutely a disgrace. Not only did I get denied because he did not fill out the paperwork thoroughly enough, but the woman at the front desk, Sandy, could not handle even handing me back the correct pieces of paper. She tried to give me a copy of what they had initially sent in. After several attempts of handing pages back and forth, I left with two copies of the second page and the fax cover sheet. I tried to be understanding because everyone has bad days, but then this woman herself lied to me as well! I spoke to her on the 15th and asked to have the short term disability paperwork filled out again, in detail. I needed it back by the 20th. (I had to turn in it by the 21st.) She said Dr. Cheema was out until the 22nd but she would get it done. It did not get done, and I am now going to miss my deadline. Sandy just told me (I was just in the office for an appointment that shouldn't of existed) she remembered speaking to me on the 15th, saying Dr. Cheema was out of office, but apparently doesn't remember her reassurances to me that it'll still get done. Why would you give me a reasurrance for my deadline and then be baffled when I ask if it's done? A deadline is a deadline. Having just been in the office (which is complaint number five.) and requesting my paperwork, Sandy appeared she did not understand why I was upset. Just completely baffled. So in my opinion they owe me $179. That would of been the amount I would of received back from the short-term disability.
(I ran out of room, I have more, I'll try and post another one.)
I did send all of this to them, too.
