They are still doing the wine and cheese receptions and those are usually held the second Saturday of every month at 6pm. I look forward to attending the next one. Located in the magnificent Forest Hall building at the intersection of Harford and Broad streets in downtown Milford, the Pike county seat, this artist's collective is a wonderful place to browse textiles, scultpure, photgraphy, blown glass, jewelry and more. Randall Fitzgerald is a photographer who features local Pike county images in many of his pieces, with other sojurns to Nantucket, Utah and several other scenic wonderlands he captures magnificently on film. Many lovely things can be found here, at all price points. I recommend making Forest Hall a priority when you come to town, for the Black Bear Film Festival, the Pear Festival, an event at Grey Towers, to dine at the Fauchere, go to the Llama Appreciation Day, see the Lincoln flag at the Historical Society, or any other reason. It's conveniently located in the center of town, one half block from Fretta's and a block from the Milford Diner.

What matters is the wonderful collections. Hard to find books to impossible to find books, well almost impossibe... and some pretty amazing old prints in the back of the store are excellent buys as well. I think what holds me back from giving this place 5 stars is the fact that I've been going to this store for about 5 years, I go about once a month and often bring friends PLUS have made some rather pricy purchases (meaning between $50 and $295) and each time I walk in I expect the owner to know who I am and everytime I walk in she acts like she never saw me before. I think she should get to know her customers better, I mean, just because I'm not interested in her big white poodle doesn't mean I'm not interested in her book collection... The other gripe I would have would be I onced asked her for a book that I couldn't locate and she did an internet search and found it and turned to me and said that I should go to eBay. If I wanted to go to eBay I would have. What I wanted was for someone to get the book for me and have it delivered to the store so I wouldn't have to be home to receive it. She is an excellent teacher, pays close attention to each student, is very knowledgeable, and is fun to boot. She put a lot of care into making sure that I could do the projects I was interested in, in the time I needed them (including for some time bound gifts). I can't recommend Jackie and Craft Into Art enough - don't wait, take a class!

Crumb, full of wizards and warriors and adventurers. Lots of fun, out-of-this-world art in various media by members of his family too. Also lots of art with a biker vibe- apparently the store hosts a bike rally each year! We stopped in on our way out of town and wound up talking with John for nearly an hour about his life and art and writing while he showed us around. I wish we could have stayed even longer. Anyone who appreciates an active imagination and a sense of humor will be thrilled to step through the deceptively humble-looking doors into this delightful little wonderland.
