As of my updating this review, they no longer have the mask requirement and their hours are Fridays and Saturdays (10-6) and Thursdays, Sundays and Mondays (10-5). When I went there was a beautiful collaboration with the Milford Garden Club on display, please see some of my photos. They are still doing the wine and cheese receptions and those are usually held the second Saturday of every month at 6pm. I look forward to attending the next one. Current artists that are exhibited here are: Randall FitzGerald, Claude Larson, Marie Liu, Laura Dudes, Helen Hwang, Liza Smith Simpson, and Madeline Tully.

Located in the magnificent Forest Hall building at the intersection of Harford and Broad streets in downtown Milford, the Pike county seat, this artist's collective is a wonderful place to browse textiles, scultpure, photgraphy, blown glass, jewelry and more. Randall Fitzgerald is a photographer who features local Pike county images in many of his pieces, with other sojurns to Nantucket, Utah and several other scenic wonderlands he captures magnificently on film. Many lovely things can be found here, at all price points. I recommend making Forest Hall a priority when you come to town, for the Black Bear Film Festival, the Pear Festival, an event at Grey Towers, to dine at the Fauchere, go to the Llama Appreciation Day, see the Lincoln flag at the Historical Society, or any other reason. It's conveniently located in the center of town, one half block from Fretta's and a block from the Milford Diner.

Their most popular item is a stars-and-stripes bunting from the playhouse where Abraham Lincoln was shot--someone placed the bunting under Lincoln's head as he lay dying. My husband and I were staying in Milford for the weekend, and we thought it would be interesting to visit the Columns and see the Lincoln Flag. We entered the building, paid our $5 admission fee, and immediately after taking our money, the women behind the admission counter told us that the Lincoln Flag was en route to DC for a public showing! I thought that was highly unprossional--or at least, rather crafty. However, we didn't want to be the killjoys who asked for their money back from these eager ladies, so we consented to touring the premises anyway. After I got over my initial bitterness, I did find the women who toured the facility to be a total hoot, entertaining us with great stories both historical and personal. So: my rating's a wash. If you're interested in seeing the Lincoln Flag, be sure to ask about its whereabouts before paying admission. If you don't really care what you see, definitely be sure to ask one of the volunteers to show you around.

This disarming joke led to my transacting the works - a $100 "clairvoyant" reading by Rose, including tarot cards, work with a crystal, and a question/answer session about my life, love, future; sky's the limit. When Rose told me I had a mother figure - "not your mother, though I want to say mother, mother FIGURE" who was ill but making her way over the hump to wellness, who CONGRUENTLY had foot surgery - that's when it hit me; there's no possible way she could know such a detail without making a killer coincidental guess. Or to then tell me that "Frank loves you like a brother" and "Jay, he too loves you like a brother; you can trust him" (both of these fellas are close guy friends of mine who I indeed love and trust like family. She went on to tell me about my love life, professional life, and future, which thank god, look bright ahead according to Rose, who by the time admitted I'd pass on by my mid 80s, I was fully aboard with - this is the real deal, she is a real medium, she is a real intuitive, clairvoyant; Rose is the real deal. Long story short should the above be TLDNR, Rose is an absolute must. She's the real deal. And is well worth the cost, should you want to have a quality, satisfying reading, without the hassle, hustle, or BS you'll find with the high volume of phonies out there. Visiting Suffolk County on more than one occasion, I've seen what the bar music scene has to offer,…read moreand to be honest it all blends into one another after a while. One aspiring DJ plays a hit or miss mixtape, and the act becomes background music. No matter how numerous the $2 Miller lite specials, it usually results in obnoxious dance remixes of rock standards being punched into the side of my head. After the show, the conductors responsible for the auditory assault barely look at you when given a compliment. Enter Sharp Dressed Band. In a bar right across the street from the Ronkonkoma train station, I walked into a setting unlike any other. People were singing along to ZZ Top classics, couples were actually dancing, and the air was full of laughter. While I don't consider myself well-versed in the intricacies of classic rock, Sharp Dressed Band had my full attention the second I sat down. I was fully sold when, between the first and second acts the band took a break, and I actually got to talk with the members. Their bassist, Bobby Dee, was especially warm and welcoming, sharing a joke, and told me just how much music meant to him and the other members of the band. Long story short, there are plenty of bands out there that CLAIM to know classic rock, and CLAIM to know what the people want, and most importantly, CLAIM to know ZZ Top. But in my mind, Sharp Dressed Band is the only band that actually delivers. I have seen several of their shows, and I can say with confidence that they are the real deal. Look no further than here.
