This is a fantastic pub, full of regulars and locals! Bill & Sheila the original Landlords and now allowing the new blood of their son Steve to handle most of the day to day runnings. Although most evenings you shall see Bill the landlord (an ex coppa) by the bar telling silly rude jokes, which are always welcome!
It is a special place, yes it may need a little freshen up upstairs in the hotel rooms, but the downstairs has seen many a happy evening, whether relaxing gently with some IPA or on a busier evening where all ages enjoy this establishment. This is a locals hotspot, for the allotment society Tudor Cricket Club and , people who want to enjoy the true English spirit and listen to some working mans comical banter.
I grew up around the corner from this pub, and frequented the beer garden for years and now when i come back to England, its the first place i head to make me feel like im home.
Go in and see Steve, and tell him Jo Baker recommended this place to you online!
He will take care of you!
