After my last visit here, was not too happy at a friend for saying to go back. I was WRONG! I went here for lunch on a Sunday and it was an all round good experience and great food. I got served immediately, but I was waiting for a friend and I didn't know what he wanted, but no drama, she gave me my wine and let me just stand there chilling until he arrived, then served him immediately. We went outside, what an amazing back of pub area to have. Copious seating and areas to sit in! We sat under a heater as there was a TV on with the football in the background. They also had outdoor toilets too. I was thinking these were going to be grim, but they are better than some pubs indoor toilets! We went inside to order our lunch and our order was taken straight away by a cheerful waitress. It didn't take long for our Sunday roasts to arrive. There were blinking good, I can say that! A really great homemade standard and I nearly licked the plate clean. Yumyum! They bought over mustard and horseradish, asked if we wanted extra drinks, even though it's not the sort of place with that table service. We could have easily stayed the afternoon there and drunk the night away, but it was a school night! Definitely going back here and soonest too. Top staff, great food and easy environment!

Spacious, a slightly industrial look, large, rectangular open space, and brewing equipment in the back. There's an additional space in the basement, which I wouldn't recommend. It's a little lackluster and unfinished looking, not much atmosphere. Stick to the upstairs, and especially the comfy leather couches. There's a photo booth for entertainment (warning: they and the photobooth company retain copies of all photos for promotional use). As far as dining options go, they've got a good pub menu, with beer can chicken, sandwiches, cheddar-ale soup, sausage rolls, and wings. I was here very late at night, so I didn't get a chance to try the food, but we did have a nice bowl of nuts that tasted like it was home-roasted with sugar and spices.

I visited at 7pm on a Sunday and it was relatively quiet though most tables were occupied. There is a downstairs area with table tennis and additional seating however it lacks atmosphere as it is essentially in a basement with no windows. For drinks, my friend and I had wine as we are not big beer drinkers which were reasonably priced. As we were peckish we shared a large portion of spicy chicken wings which were to die for!! They were well presented and came with a garlic dip. The staff were friendly and came over to check if everything was alright. Had a nice, relaxing evening and will definitely be coming back

I went in to this pub on a late saturday afternoon because it was raining. I am a big ale fan so I…read morewas delighted to find they had a special promotion called 'The International Real-Ale Festival'. This runs through to 16th November and offers a wide selection of ales all at very reduced prices. I chose an ale called Mumbo Jumbo (brewed in Manchester) which was one of six ales on tap. You will never guess the price ... only 85p for half pint! I took my seat and looked around. I could see 3 chairs carved into the shape of an elephant, lots of older men who all seemed to know each other. There was no music playing which gave a rather crap atmosphere. The pub also seemed a little run down. I glanced at the food menu which consisted of cheap typical pub food. There was however a small courtyard which would be nice if the weather was better. Although as it was also a smoking area I probably would not have used it. The ale was good - a bit like a beer version of guinness. As I was not too impressed by the decor and atmosphere, I drank up rather quickly and left to continue my shopping in the rain.

OK, the place is run down a little its an old man's pub and they like it that way! And yeah sure…read moreunless your with a mate or group of people you wont get much conversation out of them old geezers bar a grunt about the weather, football, politics or the "back in their day" speech. But who cares, there's an unwritten rule in this pub, the old folk sit by the bar on the left of the pub and the younger crowd sit by the big ass plasma screen outputting lots and lots of Sky Sports News. Then there's the courtyard area used by mostly the smokers or the MUCH younger adults who for some reason, "forgot their I.D. again" This is a popular starting point for a lot of people of Friday night, there's music nothing chart challenging or Brit award nominated but mostly good listenable music! Oh where was I running to with all this did I mention £2.50 a pint or £2 mixer, ale, cider, whatever its dirt cheap in here!! I'm not saying that you should sacrifice class for drink prices I'm just asking you to remember where you are Tally Ho corner, North Finchley mate, what was you expecting? Don't make this bulk of your night cause you will be considerably let down by what you were hoping to call the highlight of your night! If it's Friday/Saturday and your not already geared up to take the train west side or east, or a bus to Muswell Hill at the very least get drunk in here on cheap yeast!!
