Laid back, friendly and great food! We really enjoyed our meal there, staff were helpful, friendly and accommodating.

Solid British pub off Bond Street. Outside seating is available on the sidewalk. The bar/pub is inside in the first floor and upstairs is a room with tables for sitting or dining. The ambiance is classic pub. The steak and ale pie was a solid choice and included a choice of peas (mushy/garden) and potatoes (mashed/crisps). It was flavorful and filling. First evening in London and we were wanting some pub food. Lamb and Flagged looked interesting and it was close to the hotel. We headed up to the first floor dining room, away from the noisy bar and outdoor seating. One can order from the bar or order through their app! After downloading and registering thru app, it was clear that L&F was part of a larger dining group. Some of the local charm wore off at that moment. I ordered the fish and chips with the mushy peas. Overall, dinner was good. The fish fillet was a healthy portion of cod. I could have wanted more chips but what I got was decent. The mush peas were a little bland. My hubby got the steak and ale pie. I asked what he would rate his meal-- he said a solid 8 out of 10 (best ever). It did look good. Service was quick. They bring the food after you order and pay (either at the bar or through the app). I find the app approach to be very efficient. Good first meal! read more

We decided to come here for Sunday roast since it was so close to where we were staying in Marylebone. This was my first time in London, so I was totally new as to the process of ordering / dining in / how pubs work in general. I wandered in off the street and sat down at the table like a lost dog, waiting for the waitstaff. Note - this is not how things are done in the UK, but a sure fire way to look like a tourist, if that's what you're going for. After figuring out that you order everything at the bar, I elected for the beef roast and the Green King IPA. This beer could definitely use some work. Almost no flavor to it, and it felt very flat, almost like a Guiness. I don't think that IPAs are their specialties, but I definitely was getting a different beer from that point on. The beef roast was delivered to our table pretty quickly, and came with a plethora of other sides. This was a hearty meal, just like momma would have made, complete with potatoes, Yorkshire pudding, and veggies. Of course, no other British meal is complete unless it is covered in gravy. They did a great job cooking the roast, but I think the potatoes could have really used some extra loving. The consistency just wasn't right at all, and I couldn't tell if they were going for more of a roasted or boiled feel. My mouth is still confused from biting into those strange spuds. I didn't know this going in, but this is a part of the Green King Brewery chain of pubs which have EXACTLY the same menu all across London. I came into many of these pubs that all have different names expecting something different, and was surprised to find that they are carbon copies in terms of things that they serve. I ended up eating at a few of these over my stay, and they were all pretty good. I just feel that it should be known that these are sort of like the London version of 99 in the US. Sneak down an alley off of Oxford Street and enter St. Christopher's Place. It's a pleasant shopping area including an outside court and plenty of people watching. My advice, before coming in here, is to repeat three times... "I love potatoes" Then, when greeted by a bewildering selection of chips, mash, jacket, etc... You can't go wrong! AVOID THIS HORRIBLE PLACE BY ALL MEANS!! 1. Their food is hoooooorible. We had their "famous" fish and chips. The fish was bland to an extreme (I don't even think it is cod as they claim) as it must have been frozen cod or whatever the lump it was. The batter was hard as a rock. I had many fish and chips but this was most impressively disastrous. 2. The service was also terrible. We asked for water and without clarifying, he just brought a bottled water that is 2.40 pounds and opened it without asking. 3. The price was sooo expensive for how crappy everything was. It already included service charge but on the card machine, it asks for a tip again. HOW DECEITFUL!!! read more

There are some really good pubs around this way. Just walk two of three streets down, go around the corner, places like the Pontefract Castle - much nicer. Not that The Lamb is terrible, it's not but I don't really see great arguments for bothering with this one. Sure, it's in quite a good location, if you have been on Oxford Street shopping or in Selfridges wishing you were shopping. There is a pretty comprehensive food menu here, pie, fish and chips plus quite a few thoughtful sort of snack type offerings available for the more unconventionally timed hunger pangs. Also quite bizarrely, low fat frozen yogurt is a desert option. The crowd are pretty mixed so I guess they are catering for everything but they just don't seem to have got much an edge in a fiercely competitive local area. read more

This is one of the two pubs buried in the splendor that is St. Christopher's Place. This is the more central one as the other is on the northern end of James Street and Wigmore. The pub itself isn't very big, but has several booths and places to sit. What makes this big is the outside court yard and additional tables along James Street. They have your typical pub fare and do a pretty good job of it. The burgers are legit and have a good serving of onions cooked in, so daters or people without toothbrushes in their back pocket beware! read more

I love this charming little place. It is in such a perfect location right next to Oxford Street and Bond Street Station. It is located in St. Christopher's place and there are lots of restaurants nearby, but if you just want a pint, then this place is perfect. It always has a lively after-work crowd and people like to mingle outside in the courtyard. In the summer bands sometimes play out there. It gets a good mix of people so it is a little more fun than just your average pub. read more

Nope nope nope nope Rude staff About 130pm on Monday 9th Nov 2015, went upstairs for more seating since there were no indication if we should be waiting to be seated or seat by ourselves. We went upstairs, one more table left (for 4 ppl) but there was one waiter that's going around kinda busy. So we asked if we can have the table, he looked at us then not replying us then he ignored us as he started talking to another waiter.. Then we asked again, he's like "I'm busy I'm busy, can't you see" This is the rudest waitress I've seen. The only answer he could give us was yes or no. We went away. Busy and loud. I spent my time saying 'I can't hear you' or just sitting in silence. I also sat at a table with a stranger whilst my friends where on another table because it was so cramped. Not much to say about drinks. Your standard bar. Maybe I'm snobby for not wanting to be in the touristy areas of London, but if you go just 1 minute further down the road on the right there a few puns which are lot quieter and sell the same drink. read more

Very standard Oxford streety-pub. Brewery owned, and CAMRA friendly -- they did have some sort of ale festival on and 10% off and all of that, but really only a place to go if you're out on the town and gagging for a drink. Do not, repeat, do not go out of your way for this place. They run out of beer on a fairly regular basis. They're nice, though, and do decent food. And eventually you'll be tired of shopping or meeting someone shopping, and it's on St. Christopher's place, so pop in then. read more

Tiny bar with a decent sized outside area that attracts a mixed clientele. Drink selection wasn't the best but the guys behind the bar were friendly enough - unfortunately in St Christophers Place there is such a huge choice of venues, the 'ok-ness' of the L&F means that it's fairly low down the list in terms of places I'd return to visit, but as a standard, run of the mill boozer, there is little to complain about, it could all just be better. read more

I went here on recommendation from my British friend and I was super pleased! Seemed to be a really authentic British pub. I ordered a Guinness (boring, I know) and some tomato soup and just enjoyed hanging out. I'd love to go back and order some more of the food...though English food isn't exactly stellar in general :) This pub is located in a lovely neighborhood which is so nice to walk around and take pictures of. Fairly bog-standard central London brewery-owned pub. Not much character but a nice pub that has all the usual stuff you'd expect. Fine if you are right next to it and gasping for a drink but venture a little down the road and there are many nice, more characterful, less-chainey pubs. read more

Very nice pub to have lunch. We had excellent roast beef on an early Subday afternoon. Downstairs were crowded but upstairs had plenty of room and quiet athmosphere. read more

What can I say. I met friends here last night for a drink, and got the worse service i have experienced in London after living here for eleven years. I stood at the bar for over 20 minutes while all around got served, and when I dared complain the barman said he would get to me when he could and then served the guy next to me! My friend, who's birthday it happened to be, then asked why he served that guy and we were informed that it was only a guiness, and wouldn't take him a minute to serve. I am still wondering how he used his powers of telepathy to know what we wanted to drink..........which incidentally was only two pints, and I was paying with cash (not the dreaded cash machine, that also seemed to take forever). We were then asked if we wanted to sit down and talk about it, and if not what was it that we wanted. To which my friend replied 'to be served'. We were still given the 'when I get to you' treatment, so left for another establishment. Would recommend buying cans from the off licence and sitting in the park before frequenting this place........... read more

My suit, jumper and shirt were totally damaged by wet paint on the bathroom door. Although it was recognized by the pub manager "the paint had not dried enough and signage warning was not easily picked up by our guests" they have finally advised that "they are not prepared to offer any compensation regarding this incident". I was left with damage worth 500 GBP !!! Stay away from this pub and te whole Taylor Walker chain! read more
