There was not a single place to sit in the entire airport, it was so crowded it was even hard to walk. I would recommend avoiding flying out of this airport if possible.

It's a small airport with little shopping, but that's why it takes little time to pass the security…read morecheck. And it's easy to be reached, especially if you travel from Doncaster centre by public transport. In the waiting room, there's even a billiard table. It is not too good though, but it might help you kill the time if needed. :) I really like the statue of Robin Hood inside the Airport. My favourite spot there! :)

Had a great morning we treated my dad to a helicopter ride for father's day and he loved it…read more We arrived 30 minutes early so we had a drink in the cafe it was really nice the hot chocolate. I took my drink outside and looked at the planes while I waited for my dad's turn. We then got called to the area to wait and it was nice as it was a dry day as it's all outside no shelter but there was plenty of picnic benches. The only downside was they normally take pictures as they get on the helicopter and you can purchase them but they was running behind so didn't have time to do them on my dad's ride, which was a little disappointing as we would have got him one as it was something he has always wanted to do.

I love the entryway ... it's easy to make your way in without the usual bustle around an airport. Liverpool does a much better job selling its favorite sons (The Beatles) than back the first time I was here in the 80s, and LPL is no exception. While the wife was buying booze in Duty Free, I spent just as much time and money in the "With Love from Liverpool", Beatles gift shop. Don't forget to check out the statue of John Lennon in the airport (called "Above Us Only Sky" on the Lower Level), as well as the Yellow Submarine out front (like you can miss it!). So, back to eating. Our first time at LPL, we're starving. We see a sign for Frankie and Benny's. Being American, we've never heard of it, looks like a great family restaurant. Well, cut to an hour later, and the worst Caesar Salads ever in our recent past, we get past the Duty Free, go down an escalator, and see (for the first time), The Estuary Bar & Grill, The Kissing Gate, Caffè Ritazza, The Beer House, a Starbucks, and even a Subway. Our last 2 requests have not been honoured, when we rang to enquire we were told that the cab was on its way and only minutes away, and on further enquiry when asking for an update was given a lecture on how not to speak to the operator before the phone was put down. I have left a message that I would like the owner to ring back to discuss these issues before the customer base is completely lost, particularly in today's Uber climate which I used last night and the previous night with complete predictability and satisfaction, but no one has returned my call. Unreliable to non-existent service, unaccountable and downright rude. It is difficult to see how this service will survive.
