Service Plazas that are built between both directions of the expressway make so much more sense than having a rest area on each side...but that's not what this is about. This Hucks is huge! It's spacious and well lit, and has just about everything you need from a service plaza. The entryways are clean and well maintained. It was a rainy day and staff was frequently checking the lobby and mopping up water that had been tracked in. I love the barn wood décor. It's homey and feels rustic and outdoorsy. There is no end to the stuff you can buy here. Sandwiches. Snacks. Soft drinks (both bottle/can and fountain). Donuts. Fresh sandwiches. Rotisserie chicken. Dippin' Dots!®. There's also non-food related stuff like Baseball caps. Apparel. Basic car/truck supplies. A lot more stuff than I would normally imagine. All of the racks and shelves and displays are well-spaced so you don't feel crowded. The only staff member we interacted with was a cashier and she pretty unenthusiastic about the whole ordeal (we about a donut, some beef jerky, and two bottles of water) and I got the impression she'd rather be somewhere else. I later learned that it's a Shell gas station IGA grocery store hybrid. It looks very unassuming from the outside, but it's almost bordering on a gourmet grocery (or gourmet for the area). I visited mostly for the restrooms, which they don't have many of (only two stalls), but it's fine. Walking around, they have aisles of groceries -- almost everything you could need. They also have a frozen section, a "beer cave," lots of snacks for the road, coffee and other stuff. There's also a chicken restaurant inside, with lots of tables to sit and eat there. The store was clean and very organized, and it was a pleasant experience to visit.

Found the recent review of Webb Mart and called ahead. Popped by there it saved us time going farther to Brownsville and even better we were able to pickup a pound of pulled pork, with sauce, margarine, and canned spinach to make a decent semblance of dinner given crazy stormy weather that is typical of spring in the area. Saw also some homemade cookies on the counter as well but we were set with desserts. Pulled pork was $15 for the pound, rest totaled to $22 incl tax. Nice option if you need to pickup things at the end of the day before 7 p.m.

Awful Gas Station. Inserted my CC in the gas pump, readout said to select fuel and remove nozzle,…read morefilled up the tank, and then replaced nozzle. When finished the pump said to "go inside for reimbursement" -no receipt given? I went inside to get my receipt and was informed that the cashier funded my gas pump mistakenly instead of a different customer's that had paid cash in advance. I told the cashier I would pay with my card - no problem. She called her Manager to figure out how to fix the issue and the only way they new how to fix it was to have me pay cash. This all occurred loudly in front of all the customers in the store. In the end I was directed I had no other choice than to pay cash! I paid with the little cash I had left and informed the cashier I would never return. She informed the manager on the phone and I understood he/she was fine with this solution to the problem the gas station employees created. A Valero Gas station is across the street. We got the chili, double cheeseburger and large breakfast wrap with sausage (also comes in regular size and bacon is an alternative meat choice). Order at the counter and the great staff will bring it out to you in the dining room when ready.
