We've visited a lot of Buc-ee's, and I've never been tempted to post a review of one before. This location was nicely quiet(ish) on a Monday morning. Otherwise, it was Just what you expect of Buc-ee's - lots of gas pumps, clean restrooms, friendly staff, and walls of Jerry and candy. But we were hankering to grab something for an early lunch. The breakfast tacos were still out, so we got several of the brisket tacos. 5 stars for epicly simple brisket tacos. Just fresh excellent quality flour tortillas and a healthy scoop of diced brisket. Enjoyed without salsa or any accomplishments. The tortillas were so moist and delicious, it was like they'd just been made. The brisket, simply plain, was surprisingly moist and flavorful. Ate a second one after it'd been cooling to room temperature for an hour or so of driving, and it was still very good. A step down from freshly hot, but still a simple taco I'd grab again and again. Sometimes we avoid Buc-ee's because of the crowds, but next time I see one, all I'll be thinking of is the brisket tacos. read more

I definitely had my doubts about getting off the highway to drive into this chaos but honestly........it's now my go to for stopping when traveling on the road. There's nothing better than being able to go to a gas station where you feel safe AND the bathrooms are actually clean. We usually tend to stop at truck stop gas stations while traveling the highways but now it's nice to have a more friendly family version to stop. This gas station truly has any and everything you can think of to have and you truly need to calm yourself down to not blow your travel money while stopping. It also makes very easy to stop with families and get food. There is something for everyone!!! My family can get picky on the road with figuring out what to eat but with Buc-ee's everyone is able to find something the want to eat. I personally enjoy the chopped brisket sandwich. I get the smaller one as I don't like a lot of meat and honestly the only thing that would make it better would be if I could put a sweet spicy BBQ sauce on the sandwich. The meat is soooooo tender which to me is hard to do. I even enjoyed the Buc-ee chips or something like that. They're neat the sandwiches and reminded me of potato chips but they're cut thicker. The access in and out of buc-ee's also set up beautifully so you're not just waiting around trying to get in and find a pump. I truly recommend getting off the highway and checking it out. Do not get overwhelmed with the amount of people that will be there or the amount of traffic. Just know it does flow smoothly and you will get in and out. Now you might spend some time inside of the store but it will be because you decided to shop.......not because of anything else. read more

The $8.95 brisket sandwich is absolutely delicious piled huge and goes for TWO meals. We also love the large $4.49 banana puddings which are decadent and eaten over 2 meals. Iced coffee $1.99 Icees $1 sumthing. Easy to park RVs. The restrooms are beautiful spacious luxurious and clean! There are registered complaints mainly on buying merchandise or their store gift cards and wanting returns and people should have a way to resolve easier either by reaching someone on the phone or better yet by the store mgr in person. Also room to improve on: Won't sell you fries unless you buy the chicken & fries combo box. Chicken is dry and nothing special. Tater tots are okay but nothing special, Also only sold morning hours. Um this is a travel center with people traveling all hours. Missing the boat on that one! Can't buy bacon unless on a breakfast sandwich. They didn't have banana pudding cups one time and we were told there was an issue with their supplier. Unique snacks like puffed corn. Country store things like jams, jellies, fresh fudge. Toys, Buc-ees plushies, clothing, toiletries, alcohol decently priced, Camping stuff, Hardware necessities. A lot of stuff!! Nothing over the prices anywhere else these days. This was definitely a fun place to stop. Tons of people coming in and out, but no issues getting a gas pump or a parking spot. The bathroom line was also really long, but might have moved faster than any bathroom line I've ever been in. They had someone in there, basically directing traffic, which made everything run really smoothly. The bathrooms were also really clean, which I really appreciate. The store itself is very cute with tons of food and snack options for everybody as well as lots of cute souvenir, clothing, toy, household, etc. options for everyone. The checkout lines initially looked long, but they moved so efficiently that it really wasn't an issue. Overall, I was definitely coming through as a tourist, but I enjoyed the recommendation. read more

This store was exceptionally busy when we went (around spring break time) so the fact everything was still clean and staff were friendly was more surprising. Store is clearly marked. Stopping at a Buc-ee's is fun. Each state has their own Buc-ee's shirt so that one of the first things my wife looks at buying. Great selection of jerky, who knew there were so many options. And then there's the brisket!!!!! I had a sliced brisket sandwich. It was amazing. And fas of course, I was told 100 pumps, I didn't verify, but I believe it. I've heard the lore and the myth that is Buc-ee's. While I was visiting family we decided to go to the nearest one which is in Smiths Grove. Here is what I got. Candied Pecans and Cashews - Amazing. If they're warm it's pretty much addicting. This might be the best items at Buc-ee's. $5 each I believe. Cheesesteak Burrito - Phenomenal. Keep in mind this is still a gas station... they make their own tortillas on site. The tortillas are great. I wouldn't say true authentic Mexican but for being made fresh they are great and pari well with the peppers and brisket inside. This was my favorite thing by far. This was $8 or 9. But it's a steal. The fudge - Lots of different options. They have a box where it has all of their flavors. I was not a fan. It was more sugary than any other flavor and the consistency was meh. Brisket Sandwich - I got two of em and I got the XXL. These are good. Very good. Not my favorite as the burrito was just a amazing. I think the bbq sauce is pretty plain and kind of becomes gelatinous with the brisket after while. When I go back ill ask for the bbq sauce on the side if thats possible cause I think that would make it better. The brisket alone is great. $13 or 14 for the XXL Fresh Beef Jerky - I tried a few at the fresh counter. They aren heavily flavored. Which depending on your preferance could be good or bad. The best one was the bohemia garlic. It's not too haevy on the garlic and it's dry but not overly dry while the beef is manageable. Pricey coming in at $30/lb that goes for the pre-packed and fresh. Soda Wall - A lot of flavors. I'm a cream soda fan so this stood out and I was excited. They have a blue cream soda that was amazing. Beaver Chips - Ehh okay good. Fresh yes. Nothing amazing. Jalapeno and cream cheese dip - Pass. Its not spicy. Cream cheese is iunno not cream cheese? Tastes more like cream cheese with a jalapeno pepper jelly. Wasn't a fan. Fresh Fruit - Good and definitely get this if you feel like something natural. Buc-ees merch - Lots and lots of different swag from Buc-ee's. I got a lot of t-shirts which are good quality and only $13 each. Buc-ee's is great and a force to be reckoned with when it comes to gas stations. I couldn't keep count of all the gas pumps. It was packed inside but if you know what you want it'll be quick. Must gets is definitely the cheesesteak burrito, a soda from the plethora of flavors and the candied nuts. My first Buc-ee's experience. We needed gas & something to eat as we started our travel very early in the morning. It's a gas station/truck stop/ food court on Hyper-drive! I mean enormous! The number of gas pumps is impressive! And gas was cheaper for premium than area stations were selling regular! My SO bought us breakfast: Bacon, egg, cheese biscuits The biscuit was dry and yet oily. Not great flavor. She also got us an orange cranberry walnut muffin and a blueberry muffin. Both were more like cake than a muffin. Again, not a fan. The gas price was great and no waiting. Food prices were ok but we were not impressed with the quality. For a quick stop, it works! We were in and out in about 10 minutes. So I'll likely do that again! read more

This Buc-ee's location is massive. We stopped for gas and grub on our way back from Nashville on Friday, 14 November 2025. There has to be over a 100 gas pumps! The gas pumps seems to stretch an entire block. It was very convenient and there was no waiting for a pump although it was seemingly full!! There was also ample parking near the entrance and behind the gas pumps. There was an employee working on a golf cart, driving around checking for cleanliness and I even noticed that she checked that a wet spot om the ground was not fuel. We walked inside and saw an expansive interior. It was crowded but because it was so big and the registers fully manned, there was hardly a wait for anything. The bathroom was also massive. Obviously, I went into the womens bathroom. There were a ton of stalls equipped with hand sanitizer and toilet seat cleaners. The soap and paper towels were also fully stocked. And it was clean. It's helpful that there was an employee tidying up after the guests. We got coffee and even at 130pm-ish it was still hot!! We got brisket, brisket burger, and chicken stripe with fries. It was a bit pricey but everything was delicious. For "gas station food" I would go as far as saying that it was ahhhhmazing. Check it out if you have not. read more

Our first ever Buc-ee's experience, and it did NOT disappoint! I think when we both walked in, we were both in awe. We spent the most amount of time here, it being our first, because we had no idea that we would come across more on our travel down south. We stopped in on our way back north, too! Between the two visits to this particular store, we bought merch, fudge, jerky, a Key Lime pie cup, a brisket taco, and a fountain drink. All the food was delicious. The merchandise is not just Buc-ee's themed items. There are all sorts of kitchen items, home decor, clothing, toys, beach and other gear without the Buc-ee's brand anywhere on it. You can get regular stuff like Doritos and Hershey's bars, Cokes and Gatorades too. The Buc-ee's merch includes clothing, magnets, party items, wrapping paper(!), keychains, you name it, it's there somewhere. There is also a lot of Buc-ee's brand food, like nuggets, mints, jerky, salsa... Served fresh-made are tortillas, sandwiches, tacos, burritos, brisket, jerky, fudge, all sorts of stuff. The fountain drink area gives you tons of choices as well. The service is top notch and everyone is nice. They actually look like they enjoy their jobs, which makes me happy to support the business. "Clean, Friendly, and in Stock!" [Smiths Grove KY] Whoa, wow! This was my first time inside a Buc-ee's and it is cray-cray inside. The "convenient store" that has everything was filled with people from every corner of the building. This is Kentucky's 2nd Buc-ee's, just off I-65. I believe they currently have 3 locations. This one is in Smiths Grove, the smallest city in the country to house the popular gas station chain. The Texas based gas-station was well received. Being my first time inside a Buc-ee's I was excited to see what everyone was raving about... they have a large diverse food offerings and affordable menu. Loved the wallet-friendly prices! While this location features the same favorite items as the other locations it seems that they have fewer employees. There were long lines at the registers, with closed signs at several of the registers and only one employee at each counter. And the employee at my check out was grouchy. Unusual for Buc-ee's! Also, I was fairly shocked to find the restroom less than sparkling clean. A first for Buc-ee's! And I have visited many locations multiple times in several different states. Outside of when the fresh brisket hit the prep table, the employees are never cutting up and are friendly. I look forward to them yelling fresh brisket. Lol! Buc-ee's has truly changed to game when it comes to rest stops. This location was easy to navigate in and out from. The have a car wash station across the roadway from the main area. It nice to see that, so that you know you won't be caught in traffic when it gets busy. I've been wanting to see this "cult " following Buc-ee's super store. I was driving to Nashville from Kentucky and totally missed the exit. There's no way to take a U-turn so I went 10 miles out of my way to circle back. I would suggest you add it as a stop in your gps. There was a line for the gas so I opted to go to a smaller gas station. That's just crazy because there's probably 50 gas pumps. Once we entered the store we could feel the chaos ! Everyone was looking around trying to figure out what beaver logo item they had to have. There's a huge sandwich shop, drink station and lots of jerky choices. The Smiths Grove location is spotless, enormous, and staffed by folks friendlier than your grandma on Easter Sunday. The bathrooms? LEGENDARY. Buc-ee's banana pudding. Full stop. I'll put up with the demented crowds and traffic for Buc-ee's banana pudding. That's all I need from this place, but some people like Buc-ee's brisket sandwiches. I've been told to get the sliced brisket and not the chopped brisket. Noted! Back to the banana pudding. It's practically perfect in every way, except for one thing: the delicious swirl of whipped cream on top is, I think, not actually real whipped cream. So Buc-ee's banana pudding is a 9.5 instead of a 10, but I can live with that. One thing to note: They also have a coconut pudding that looks almost exactly like the banana pudding. I almost grabbed one of those! Imagine my horror when I realized my mistake. So, look sharp when you're in the refrigerated section. No shade to coconut, but get the heck out of here with your coconut. I'm not here for no dang coconut. We visited around lunch time, so I was on the hunt for something else to eat with my banana pudding. I noticed that they have burritos, so I spilt a brisket burrito with my youngest kid. The burrito was surprisingly really good! I kind of wish I had gotten my own burrito. The burrito had chopped brisket, refried beans, cheese, chipotle sauce and I think potatoes in it. The tortilla was great -- it was thin and floury, almost like a homemade tortilla. I would definitely come back and get another Buc-ee's burrito. Buc-ee's has great restrooms. Buc-ee's is a Texas-based (and Texas-supersized) gas and convenience store chain of approximately 74,707 square feet located off of Interstate 65 in Smiths Grove, where my partner, his family, and I visited yesterday. So far, there are 58 locations nationwide, where this location opened its doors back in May 2024. Upon arrival, a statue of the smiling beaver with a red cap greets visitors. First-timers like some of us would often start their trip by taking a photo with this icon. Upon entering the well-kept store, there are countless aisles for customers to get lost in. There's seasonal merchandise that dresses the Buc-ee's beaver in a seasonal costume or throws his gaping maw on a tie-dye T-shirt. There are so many food options, ranging from branded packaged snacks and fresh deli foods to their famous brisket sandwich at $8 and bakery items. Their trademark Beaver Nuggets are crunchy corn puffs coated in brown sugar, cinnamon, cheddar and habañero, white fudge, and other flavorings. By the fuel pumps, there are no squeegee and window-washing fluid holders. What is not to like in cheap gas, lots of gas pumps, and clean restrooms as a road destination that we can recommend? read more

Made a road trip to the Bowling Green area and a stop at Buc-ees was definitely on the intinerary. I've only been to a few locations but I find them all to be clean, bright and welcoming no matter the time of day. The people are friendly and the food options are limitless. The brisket sandwich had a great smokiness and when paired with the beaver chips, made for a delicious dinner. The only downside is that we didn't have enough time to peruse all the different departments. Be careful to allocate enough time to enjoy the experience. read more

Stopped each way on a recent round trip at this Buc-ee's. On the first leg of our trip (around 11 AM eastern on a weekday) it was amazingly not very busy by Buc-ee's standards. Was able to stop and easily navigate the store and grab a sandwich and hit the restroom. Due to the time of day (10 AM central) they were fully geared up for breakfast so they had limited lunch items which is what I wanted. Grabbed a brisket sandwich and drink and was on my way. Gas prices (at one of their seemingly hundreds of pumps) were great also. Restrooms if you can get in are very clean and well kept. They have what seems to be a bathroom stall to match every gas pump ;-) (so alot). On the way back (on a holiday and more middle of the day/afternoon) they were much busier and more like what I had experienced with other Buc-ee's in the past. Extremely busy, tough to navigate in the middle of the store due to crowds waiting for food, checkout lines and people aimlessly wandering and taking it in. Grabbed a BBQ sliced/smoked turkey sandwich and my traveling partner opted for the Texas brisket burrito. Turkey was good, but sauce tasted a bit different than I thought they had in the past and overall was not my favorite. The burrito was excellent and my traveling partner did not stop praising how good it was and how much meat was in it. Picked up a t-shirt for our daughter. Gas again had great pricing. Overall, it's an interesting place, but plan on huge crowds. If you have kids in your party, have a game plan communicated if you get separated (you will), as you peruse their buc-ee's merchandise. They also purposely don't place any seating to eat your purchases at either inside or out so you'll be eating in the car. I assume this is to encourage folks to buy and leave. I have heard about Buc-ee's for a long time and I was so glad that this new location was on our way from Louisville to Bowling Green. Located right off the interstate,this location opened in 2024. If you need gas (prices are fantastic) or go to the bathroom ( super clean) or need groceries and take out food,you have to stop at Buc-ee's. They sell souvenirs,all types of foods and even have a car wash. Of course we bought a variety of items plus I tried their brisket egg burrito which was all home made( even the tortilla) and it was amazing. The Gas Station That Moonlights as a Small Country I stopped at Buc-ee's twice -- once on the way out, once on the way back -- because apparently one visit isn't enough to truly grasp the majesty of this beaver-themed empire. Forget calling it a "gas station." Buc-ee's is what happens when a gas station, a grocery store, a BBQ joint, and a national park all have a wild weekend together. Charging Station: I drive electric, so while my car sipped electrons, I waded into this retail carnival. My EV was fully charged before I'd even made it past the jerky wall and the 400 people buying fudge. That's efficient -- or terrifying. Either way, I respect it. Brisket/Egg Taco: This is the real deal. Smoky, hearty, and somehow wrapped in pure happiness. It instantly made me question every breakfast decision I've made since birth. 10/10 would risk traffic again. Sweet & Spicy Jerky: "Sweet and Spicy" apparently means "politely flavored." It's fine, but if you're looking to set your taste buds on fire, this is more like lighting a candle. Fried Apple Pie: Hot. Gooey. Dangerous. Basically the dessert version of falling in love too fast. It's everything you want from a gas station pie, and that's saying something. Sausage Egg Cheese Biscuit: Biscuits so flaky they should come with a warning label: "Do not inhale near car interior." Tasty as heck though. One wrong bite and your lap looks like a snow globe. Coffee: Look, I'm not a coffee snob, but Buc-ee's brew was... serviceable. It's not bad -- it's just the coworker who "does their job" but never goes above and beyond. I still got it both times because I'm loyal like that. McDonald's and Starbucks still win my morning vote. Final Verdict: Buc-ee's isn't a stop -- it's an event. You come for the gas or charging station, and leave wondering if you should buy a 5-foot beaver plush or an entire smoker. It's chaotic, delicious, and a little dangerous for your wallet. read more

Busy and crowded on a Saturday morning, a number of folks had left their cars at the pumps (with the pumps running!) and we filled up the van. Buc-ee's doesn't always have the cheapest gas but they did today. After filling and moving to a proper parking spot, we went inside. Super clean restrooms, as is usual for Buc-ee's. Lots of people shopping, preparing drinks, choosing sandwiches. We got a cup of coconut pie, a brisket sandwich and some Beaver Nuggets. The sandwich was fresh and hot. The pie was sweet and satisfying. And now we have some nibbles for the road. East access back onto the interstate. I love Buc-ee's and I'm glad to visit a new (to me) one! I kept hearing, "Go to Buc-ee's!" whenever I've traveled anywhere that has one in, like, a 100-mile radius. I finally got to experience what can only be described as fairly organized pandemonium. SO many gas pumps, gas at great prices (though Im from California so the bar is low) and that interior? Omg. It's huge and has everything. EVERYTHING. Maybe not a pharmacy, but that's it. There's beans, greens, potatoes, tomatoes, probably lamb, rams, hog, maws, chicken, turkey, YOU NAME IT! Sensory overload alert! My first time visiting Buc-ee's was overwhelming at first, but I very quickly determined it is a 5-star gas station. The bathrooms are so clean! They have a light above each stall that's red or green to let you know if the stall is occupied or not. I had the brisket sandwich and it was delicious. Of the Buc-ee's locations I've been to it's not the best, however it's miles ahead of anything else out there and being not the best it's still really good. If you've been to a few, this one could be the best, and maybe I just had a not the best experience with their food the three visits I can remember. It was still good and nothing to complain about but not as good as another Buc-ee's. This one is also quite crowded. I mean, they all are, but it is, in all of my visits, more crowded that any I've been to. read more

Always a fun adventure. Was a bit surprised that they completely ran out of breakfast food before 9am. The warming shelves were empty. Because the food is so delicious and fresh, there was a crowd of people watching the staff happily preparing more breakfast wraps and sandwiches. On December 1, my fiancée and I had to travel back to Huntsville, Alabama, since her birthday weekend in Cincinnati had come to a close. On the way back home, she wanted to stop at the Buc-ee's in Bowling Green, Kentucky. This will be our third stop at a Bucee's.
