Buc-ee's It's an absolute must!! This is our favorite road side stop! When we made the trip to the Midwest we enjoyed these in Texas. Now this one here in Kentucky. This store is right before Bowling Green! Stop and refuel, and get out of the car. They have a great selection of everything. If you need it; it's here. This was my Buc-ee's virgin experience and I had never been in one, until about a month ago. Everyone that has been tells me I must go, so I did. And, my Buc-ee's cherry has now officially been popped. The experience was truly a unique one and its like a gas station convenience store on steroids and I, of course, was completely overwhelmed. I came in here during the July 4th weekend and there were people everywhere. I think I probably have some level of social anxiety because all I was trying to do the entire time in the store was to get away from people, which proved almost impossible. I did wander the entire store and I probably spent close to an hour here. Talk about a place where it traps your money, this would be it. I ended up getting a jar of pickled okra (because I have never had this) and also a bag of fried cajun pecans. Both items were very good and still enjoying them back on the West Coast. I think I had one of their ready made brisket sandwich and it was ok, I'm not too much into BBQ so it wasn't like mindblowing for me. I had a potato salad too and that was good. I just wanted a diet soda for my 2 hour drive back and I guess Buc-ee's doesnt carry fountain diet. Does that make any sense? I was pretty impressed with their many many gas pumps which I believe is their claim to fame, but, what I needed was to clean my windshield from all the bugs and I could not seem to locate this windshield washing station that apparently exists. While it was good to experience a place like this, I think for me, it was sensory and capitalist overload for me. And, we wonder why we have an obesity and chronic disease epidemic...places like these enable us to be on our worst behavior and something felt inherently wrong for me to be in here. Call me a masochist, but I enjoy torturing myself running miles just to burn off enough calories in a day to not gain weight and a place like this conflicts with the workout junkie in me. Buc-ee's is the new Disney World, at least on road trips. It's a must do on family vacations, but I visited here on a business trip because some coworkers wanted to go at lunch. One coworker who is a local said it is usually the cheapest gas in the area, and he braves it for that reason. Pro Tip: If you are getting gas, please move your car from the pumps when you go into the store. Buc-ee's is sensory overload for me, so I was mainly here for the bathroom and to grab something to drink. The Smith's Grove Buc-ee's is our go-to roadtrip stop on the way from TN to OH. It's about an hour outside of Nashville, making it the perfect quick stop for a bathroom break, snacks, and a fuel-up. Buc-ee's is a road tripper's dream come true - with clean and expansive bathrooms, every snack you could imagine, and cheap gas prices. They even have an area for dogs to do their business, which makes traveling with our pups that much easier. This location does get busy (every Buc-ee's does), especially in the summer on weekends. Buc-ee's in Smiths Grove, Kentucky is wonderful! We came to Cave City for a few days and drove about 15 miles further south on 65 just to go to Buc-ee's. It was Sunday June 7, 2026 around 9:00 am when we arrived. It was a mad house. We turned in on the lane that takes you directly to the gas pumps. We were driving for a while and just decided to park so we could go in and use the restroom and get something to eat. After using the spotless restroom and cleaning up, we went to get our food. As I said, the place was an absolute madhouse, but it was good madness. To see so many people packed in one place with smiles and looks of joy on their faces. Great time's. I know it's just a rest stop but it's so much more. This place just makes people happy. It was still breakfast time so they were still serving the incredible brisket tacos. I absolutely love just the brisket taco with their green salsa. It's amazing! My taco was packed with brisket and comes on the fresh made tortillas they make right there in the store. My wife loves the brisket and egg taco just plain the way it comes. They are equally as good and also loaded with brisket and a good amount of egg. After getting our food, we went and got a few of the new Buc-ee's America 250 merchandise. We just got a couple of t-shirts and a fridge magnet. There is anything you can imagine in the merchandise section. After checking out, we went to our car to eat our food. Sitting there eating we just watched a non stop line of cars pulling in. It was like it was timed perfectly. Every vehicle seemed like they were spaced out the perfect distance from one another. It was like it was choreographed. We sat there for about a half hour watching this. It was hilarious. When we finished eating, we went to fuel up before getting back on the road. This particular day the gas was $3.47 a gallon. When we got back to Cave City, the gas was $3.74. Even with all of those cars coming in, there was no waiting to get to a gas pump. It's big! It's got clean bathrooms and lots of gas pumps. It's a Buc-ee's! We stopped at this Buc-ee's while traveling for gas, a bathroom break, and a chance to get out and stretch our legs. Buc-ee's was founded in Texas in 1982 and has grown from a small convenience store and gas station into a chain of enormous travel centers that have become destinations themselves. Even though there are still relatively few Buc-ee's locations compared with most major convenience store chains, the individual locations are much larger than the typical gas station. This one was easy to get to and, like the other Buc-ee's locations we have visited, had a huge number of gas pumps, so getting fuel was not a problem. Once inside, it was pretty crowded, but that seems to be normal for Buc-ee's because of their popularity. The staff we encountered was friendly, and the store was clean and well maintained. There is an enormous selection of food, including their well-known BBQ and brisket sandwiches, jerky, Beaver Nuggets, bakery items, snacks, drinks, and plenty of other choices if you are looking for something to eat along the road. There is also a huge selection of Buc-ee's merchandise, clothing, souvenirs, outdoor items, and other things that make it fun just to walk around and see what they have. Of course, one of the main reasons we like stopping at Buc-ee's is the restrooms, and these were large, clean, and lived up to the reputation. Overall, this was another very good Buc-ee's stop. It was a little crowded, but with plenty of gas pumps, great bathrooms, friendly staff, lots of food choices, and plenty of room to walk around and stretch your legs, it was exactly what we needed during our travels. Skip this rip off overcrowded overrated convience store. They charge you $1.99 to fill up your own water bottle with water!! To buy ice and water in a cup is $,79!. So they clearly are incentivizing buying disposable styrofoam containers that leech chemicals and end up in landfills. Employee cut right in front of me at the soda fountain to fill up her own cup. Night manager is worthless and wants to give ME the task of complaijiang about the fees to management. Go to a truck stop where they let you fill you water bottles for free and skip their expensive gas. Buc-ee's, where you can buy 16lvs of ice for $1.99 but they are going to charge you $1.99 to fill your own stainless steel water bottles with water. Make it make sense! read more

We've visited a lot of Buc-ee's, and I've never been tempted to post a review of one before. This location was nicely quiet(ish) on a Monday morning. Otherwise, it was Just what you expect of Buc-ee's - lots of gas pumps, clean restrooms, friendly staff, and walls of Jerry and candy. But we were hankering to grab something for an early lunch. The breakfast tacos were still out, so we got several of the brisket tacos. 5 stars for epicly simple brisket tacos. Just fresh excellent quality flour tortillas and a healthy scoop of diced brisket. Enjoyed without salsa or any accomplishments. The tortillas were so moist and delicious, it was like they'd just been made. The brisket, simply plain, was surprisingly moist and flavorful. Ate a second one after it'd been cooling to room temperature for an hour or so of driving, and it was still very good. A step down from freshly hot, but still a simple taco I'd grab again and again. Sometimes we avoid Buc-ee's because of the crowds, but next time I see one, all I'll be thinking of is the brisket tacos. read more

My first Buc-ee's experience. We needed gas & something to eat as we started our travel very early in the morning. It's a gas station/truck stop/ food court on Hyper-drive! I mean enormous! The number of gas pumps is impressive! And gas was cheaper for premium than area stations were selling regular! My SO bought us breakfast: Bacon, egg, cheese biscuits The biscuit was dry and yet oily. Not great flavor. She also got us an orange cranberry walnut muffin and a blueberry muffin. Both were more like cake than a muffin. Again, not a fan. The gas price was great and no waiting. Food prices were ok but we were not impressed with the quality. For a quick stop, it works! This Buc-ee's location is massive. We stopped for gas and grub on our way back from Nashville on Friday, 14 November 2025. There has to be over a 100 gas pumps! The gas pumps seems to stretch an entire block. It was very convenient and there was no waiting for a pump although it was seemingly full!! There was also ample parking near the entrance and behind the gas pumps. There was an employee working on a golf cart, driving around checking for cleanliness and I even noticed that she checked that a wet spot om the ground was not fuel. We walked inside and saw an expansive interior. It was crowded but because it was so big and the registers fully manned, there was hardly a wait for anything. The bathroom was also massive. Obviously, I went into the womens bathroom. There were a ton of stalls equipped with hand sanitizer and toilet seat cleaners. The soap and paper towels were also fully stocked. And it was clean. It's helpful that there was an employee tidying up after the guests. We got coffee and even at 130pm-ish it was still hot!! We got brisket, brisket burger, and chicken stripe with fries. This was definitely a fun place to stop. Tons of people coming in and out, but no issues getting a gas pump or a parking spot. The bathroom line was also really long, but might have moved faster than any bathroom line I've ever been in. They had someone in there, basically directing traffic, which made everything run really smoothly. The bathrooms were also really clean, which I really appreciate. The store itself is very cute with tons of food and snack options for everybody as well as lots of cute souvenir, clothing, toy, household, etc. options for everyone. The checkout lines initially looked long, but they moved so efficiently that it really wasn't an issue. I've heard the lore and the myth that is Buc-ee's. While I was visiting family we decided to go to the nearest one which is in Smiths Grove. Here is what I got. Candied Pecans and Cashews - Amazing. If they're warm it's pretty much addicting. This might be the best items at Buc-ee's. $5 each I believe. Cheesesteak Burrito - Phenomenal. Keep in mind this is still a gas station... they make their own tortillas on site. The tortillas are great. I wouldn't say true authentic Mexican but for being made fresh they are great and pari well with the peppers and brisket inside. This was my favorite thing by far. This was $8 or 9. But it's a steal. The fudge - Lots of different options. They have a box where it has all of their flavors. I was not a fan. It was more sugary than any other flavor and the consistency was meh. Brisket Sandwich - I got two of em and I got the XXL. These are good. Very good. Not my favorite as the burrito was just a amazing. I think the bbq sauce is pretty plain and kind of becomes gelatinous with the brisket after while. When I go back ill ask for the bbq sauce on the side if thats possible cause I think that would make it better. The brisket alone is great. $13 or 14 for the XXL Fresh Beef Jerky - I tried a few at the fresh counter. They aren heavily flavored. Which depending on your preferance could be good or bad. The best one was the bohemia garlic. It's not too haevy on the garlic and it's dry but not overly dry while the beef is manageable. Pricey coming in at $30/lb that goes for the pre-packed and fresh. Soda Wall - A lot of flavors. I'm a cream soda fan so this stood out and I was excited. They have a blue cream soda that was amazing. Beaver Chips - Ehh okay good. Fresh yes. Nothing amazing. Jalapeno and cream cheese dip - Pass. Its not spicy. Cream cheese is iunno not cream cheese? Tastes more like cream cheese with a jalapeno pepper jelly. Wasn't a fan. Fresh Fruit - Good and definitely get this if you feel like something natural. Buc-ees merch - Lots and lots of different swag from Buc-ee's. I got a lot of t-shirts which are good quality and only $13 each. Buc-ee's is great and a force to be reckoned with when it comes to gas stations. I couldn't keep count of all the gas pumps. I definitely had my doubts about getting off the highway to drive into this chaos but honestly........it's now my go to for stopping when traveling on the road. There's nothing better than being able to go to a gas station where you feel safe AND the bathrooms are actually clean. We usually tend to stop at truck stop gas stations while traveling the highways but now it's nice to have a more friendly family version to stop. This gas station truly has any and everything you can think of to have and you truly need to calm yourself down to not blow your travel money while stopping. It also makes very easy to stop with families and get food. There is something for everyone!!! My family can get picky on the road with figuring out what to eat but with Buc-ee's everyone is able to find something the want to eat. I personally enjoy the chopped brisket sandwich. I get the smaller one as I don't like a lot of meat and honestly the only thing that would make it better would be if I could put a sweet spicy BBQ sauce on the sandwich. The meat is soooooo tender which to me is hard to do. I even enjoyed the Buc-ee chips or something like that. They're neat the sandwiches and reminded me of potato chips but they're cut thicker. The access in and out of buc-ee's also set up beautifully so you're not just waiting around trying to get in and find a pump. I truly recommend getting off the highway and checking it out. Do not get overwhelmed with the amount of people that will be there or the amount of traffic. Just know it does flow smoothly and you will get in and out. Our first ever Buc-ee's experience, and it did NOT disappoint! I think when we both walked in, we were both in awe. We spent the most amount of time here, it being our first, because we had no idea that we would come across more on our travel down south. We stopped in on our way back north, too! Between the two visits to this particular store, we bought merch, fudge, jerky, a Key Lime pie cup, a brisket taco, and a fountain drink. All the food was delicious. The merchandise is not just Buc-ee's themed items. There are all sorts of kitchen items, home decor, clothing, toys, beach and other gear without the Buc-ee's brand anywhere on it. You can get regular stuff like Doritos and Hershey's bars, Cokes and Gatorades too. The Buc-ee's merch includes clothing, magnets, party items, wrapping paper(!), keychains, you name it, it's there somewhere. There is also a lot of Buc-ee's brand food, like nuggets, mints, jerky, salsa... Served fresh-made are tortillas, sandwiches, tacos, burritos, brisket, jerky, fudge, all sorts of stuff. The fountain drink area gives you tons of choices as well. The service is top notch and everyone is nice. They actually look like they enjoy their jobs, which makes me happy to support the business. The "convenient store" that has everything was filled with people from every corner of the building. This is Kentucky's 2nd Buc-ee's, just off I-65. I believe they currently have 3 locations. This one is in Smiths Grove, the smallest city in the country to house the popular gas station chain. The Texas based gas-station was well received. Being my first time inside a Buc-ee's I was excited to see what everyone was raving about... they have a large diverse food offerings and affordable menu. Loved the wallet-friendly prices! I've stopped at this Buc-ee's several times, one of several locations that I visit on my travels between Indianapolis and Florida. While this location features the same favorite items as the other locations it seems that they have fewer employees. There were long lines at the registers, with closed signs at several of the registers and only one employee at each counter. And the employee at my check out was grouchy. Unusual for Buc-ee's! Also, I was fairly shocked to find the restroom less than sparkling clean. A first for Buc-ee's! And I have visited many locations multiple times in several different states. It is giant, and crazy, and definitely an oddity. You can get clothes, home decorations and most importantly, a massive selection of food and drinks. I was there on a day where the weather was terrible so the place was jam packed with people. Maybe this affected my opinion of the place but to me, its just a standard highway stop, just on a much bigger scale. I bought a Brisket sandwich, which I really wasnt a fan of. The meat was salty, and the sauce used was too sweet. I was told I must get the beaver nuggets, and those were actually OK, they reminded me of Captain Crunch, if they offered a Cracker Jack flavor. The best thing I bought was the fudge, you can get a sample box of a bunch of different flavors, and the fudge is really good quality. I will say that they are a machine in terms of getting people in and out. I did not have to wait hardly at all at check out and all the fresh food was being replenished as soon as it was taken by customers. I will try it again next time I am in the area just to see if a calmer day changes my opinion but for right now its just a fun thing to say you stopped at and wasted time looking around. read more

I've been wanting to see this "cult " following Buc-ee's super store. I was driving to Nashville from Kentucky and totally missed the exit. There's no way to take a U-turn so I went 10 miles out of my way to circle back. I would suggest you add it as a stop in your gps. There was a line for the gas so I opted to go to a smaller gas station. That's just crazy because there's probably 50 gas pumps. Once we entered the store we could feel the chaos ! Everyone was looking around trying to figure out what beaver logo item they had to have. There's a huge sandwich shop, drink station and lots of jerky choices. It was a fun visit and probably would go again. Definitely worth the 10 mile circle back! read more
