ReStore (Habitat for Humanity) Maple Shade location This location, different from at least 4 others I've visited, has almost all new items. It's basically like the clearance section of box hardware or furniture stores. In the warehouse type room, they had a ton of brand new stuff: Bathtubs: overpriced IMO. They had soakers, corner units, special shapes and sizes, jetted or no, Kohler and other brands, but all fiberglass. Fiberglass standard tubs or soakers were $375 in various brands (jets and other tubs were much higher-priced). I'd prefer a steel tub ($220 to $320 at Depot/Lowe's) because I've had scratch, crack, and various other nightmares with fiberglass. Fiberglass for tubs dominates the market, but they are not made to last and I'm not the type to waste money renovating every few years. Also, jets and pumps break and those tubs aren't fun to clean. Been there, done it all with headache tubs! Plain old steel for me! Flooring: there were decent bathroom-size quantities of tile in ceramic or natural stone (but any natural stone was 4" square or smaller) and it was all 75% off when I visited. Wood, luxury vinyl or laminate flooring was there, but in quantities of maybe 280 sqft which would do a room or two, not enough to do a house. Rugs: These all looked like synthetic fiber area rugs, in trendy colors and styles. Sizes varied but 5x8' or 8x10' seemed the average size. Appliances: smaller stainless units priced $675 or more, some dented and still priced like the others. May be good deals depending on brands. I'd first check out outlets in Delaware with no tax. The ranges, washer/dryers etc. all same thing, basic models, some with scratch and dent or low-end models. Sinks: not many kitchen sinks but tons of bathroom sinks. All were priced about 10% less than Depot or Lowe's, which is not worth the risk of no warranty or return window IMO. However, it was 75% off sinks when I was there so that's a game changer, and definitely made bargains happen. However, the exact new model basic drop-in white ceramic bathroom sink I got at the Pennsauken store was priced $10 -75% off there, and $35 -75% off at this store. So yeah, prices are higher here! Windows / Doors: nothing exciting when I was there, though they were having a week-long 50% off sale for these and it was the last day when I visited, so slim pickins, but it's hit or miss. Furniture: current stuff that looks like floor samples and/or returns. Other locations have a mishmash of used furniture in various styles, vintages, and conditions, but the Maple Shade location has a lot of new furniture. The last thing I need is furniture but I did notice small sectionals were $675 and up. Idk if that is a bargain to people these days or not. Faucets: they had trendy kitchen faucets for $140 or so. I never heard of the brand. Could've been something from a design store, but that doesn't guarantee quality (as I've learned the hard way). They had 4" center set Kohler faucets for $90! Not a bargain. Kohler IME lasts 5 years, and $90 for the dinkiest, cheapie 4" compact little powder room style faucet is ridiculous! A lot of these shoppers are working class/middle class families who shouldn't be shelling out that kind of money on a 5-year powder room faucet! Especially when that's the cheapest fixture in the bathroom (among other bathrooms in their home)! Countertops: no loose sink vanity tops, but some faux stone kitchen vinyl tops. I didn't check price though. I wanted to buy a lampshade, was told it came with the lamp (that didn't match and was scratched ceramic, meaning worthless), no price tag nor sign to give pricing (this happened a lot in this store). Manager kinda thought a minute and said $45. It seemed like he was making up a price because how do I know where this logic came from? The shade was aesthetic but it was a poorly tack-welded steel lampshade with light coating of brass finish (looked like World Market). It was not going to hold up long without repair, so $45 was a no sale. It would help if they put prices on things, or a sign for item category prices like at other ReStores. As explained, the prices were not impressing me. I overheard other customers remarking about how things were give or take the same price at retail stores, so why chance it at ReStore without a warranty and box store return policy? Good point. ReStore is for a good cause, but having to haul big heavy things home, which might break, at your expense, is a big ask, and it needs to come with a bargain price. The manager who helped me with prices on a lot of unmarked stuff did tell me there are various discounts for all kinds of people: seniors, first responders, military, etc. so always ask about discounts before you pay. All in all, I didn't buy anything this trip. If they have more 50-75% discount sales, it's worth checking out if you need something on sale. Staff was all friendly and store was clean and organized despite very heavy traffic on a Saturday. read more

I would give it a 3.5 stars. Truly well organized and GREAT items, however the prices for furniture is sadly overpriced. I understand they are almost new but where is decent pieces for decent prices. I believe the rugs are fairly priced imo. read more

After my visit to this store, I was surprised by the low ratings. Granted, I did not end up purchasing anything, but I was overall impressed by the organization, selection and staff helpfulness. I learned that this particular Restore gets a lot of inventory from Ashley's furniture, so I found that there were a lot of quality, new items. I was searching for a buffet / credenza. I didn't find what I needed, but they had a good selection of coffee tables, couches, and even hardware type things like scrap materials and paint. I will say that the pricing was higher than I expected on many items, but again, they also seemed like higher quality items than you might find at a thrift store or equivalent. *They also are accepting Bed, Bath and Beyond coupons until September 1st! read more

I came specifically to look for large area rugs as my future home will have beautiful, redone wood floors that need to be protected. We wandered to the back and found a mountain of rugs. Immediately, there was one on top that I fell in love with and soon discovered the same rug was in different sizes underneath many layers of rugs. After inspecting the rugs, though in overall really good condition, we saw that had some defects, mostly some tears (probably a box cutter as they were straight, clean lines). You couldn't even tell unless the carpet was bent (which it won't be when lying flat). It was quite a team effort to try to haul out the two carpets I wanted. They were very heavy, so one of the guys went and recruited 2 more helpers, plus there were 3 of us, and then a bystander offered to help - so it took 6 of us to move the rugs around and get them out. PRO TIP: PERHAPS YOU SHOULD ACTUALLY USE THE RUG HANGERS THAT ALLOW PEOPLE TO SEE THE RUGS INDIVIDUALLY. Just sayin'. When it came to check out, I pointed out the cuts, and they graciously offered us a 20% discount. So I got two huge rugs for under $150. A quick look online when I got home saw the same 9x13 rug on Amazon for $715 and the 9 x 7 rug for $220! What a bargain. Also, amazingly, they had about 50 church pews for sale. Whoa. They also have a delivery service if you can't haul what you buy. read more

I recently took my fist trip to Habitat for Humanity expecting it to be similar to Good Will. It a lot of ways it was, used goods at really low prices. HFH had all the typical second hand goods you'd expect; lots of glassware and furniture. The furniture section was huge, but the majority of it was outdated and some of it was even broken. Unlike Good Will, HFH had a huge section targeted to contractors or home DIY projects. This section had everything from paintbrushes, to tiles, to bricks, they even had toilet bowls. This store wasn't my cup of tea, but maybe I'll be back if I need raw materials for a big DIY project. read more

I now see why my mother said she stop supporting this place over a year ago. They are supposed to be for the people but they're really not....At these prices it's best to just go to a regular furniture store. My husband and I were here about a week ago and just like that, they raised their prices apparently because it's income tax time. They can save that mess that they have there and at those ridiculous prices for the desperate people. I will never support Habitat for Humanity again and quite a few of my friends and I have always supported it. This store is a definite hit-or-miss experience but we had a great experience on Sunday. We came here looking for a couch and some various other items (dresser, bed frame, bookshelves, side tables) on Sunday. The front room had endless couches, in various conditions. We liked the look of a few, and all were decently priced in the $200 - $600 range. We found one that we loved, and cheap because it was a sectional that didn't include the extra section and it turns out it was on sale. We got it for $110. The other parts of the store are filled with various pieces of furniture, arranged by description. It has a big warehouse feel and you have to be open to looking at a lot of junk to find some good stuff. Most of the dressers we saw had broken doors which was disappointing. We got a great wood side table with minor blemishes that was marked from $10 to $3.50. When we checked out we called Joe, their third-party delivery man. He set up to take the couch the next day. In a spectacular turn of luck, we was actually able to deliver it later that evening. We live about 35 minutes away from the store and Joe charged $70 to deliver the couch. The staff was very helpful and accommodating, they were able to bring the side table to the front area for me and I saw some staff members helping people load furniture into their cars. read more

Kinda crazy to get to in your car Lots of cloverleafs and even with the gps on we ended up behind the place by the rock climbing gym. No guarantee on what they are going to have , but supplies (grout, paint, lumber, cabinets, paint) can be found often which is great for DIY and low-budget renovations and fixes that need to happen when you have a home and the standard furniture for every room is usually there. It's varied and things can be in a shape where some tlc will help but when prices range from 10-200 for most things so you can get outfitted on a tight budget. Overall I'm just glad that place is like this exist. The thing that are here will do well in the new home serving people who don't have like a friend or don't want to spend a lot and also don't want to see good things going to the landfill. The organization overall does good work and it's nice to know that this is another way that they are helping and that people can get help or get involved or support the organization. read more

Although I have visited habitat for humanity restore a few times, my first purchase was this past weekend. The entrance/location of this place is not the best because it is between a lane that is merging onto 38 as well as the lane exiting 38. You could easily drive by and miss this place. However, there are a lot of good deals in this store but there can be a high turnover rate and you really have to inspect what you are going to buy. The price tags usually have the date of when the item was brought in. I bought a desk hutch for $25 and I had seen online retail for about $200. The hutch at HFH was a little beat up but for that discount it was a steal. It took me a little while to get someone to help me carry the hutch but the volunteer loaded onto a cart and helped me put it in my car, which I appreciated. A friend of mine told me that they will bargain the prices with you here, especially if you are buying in bulk. Although its not a guarantee- HFH is worth checking out. read more

I have noticed since a new manager has taken over this store in Maple Shade the furniture has went to crap because most of their furniture is cracked , chipped , scratched all up , to make matters worse the price of this crap that should go in the trash is the same price as new furniture , the furniture is not ever going to sell because consumers know how much items should cost so this manager is trying to get over on people by ripping them off. Habitat is suppose to be an affordable place so customers can donate to Habitat's cause of helping people get homes who could not afford them. Now it seems like this store is trying to get rich and has lost the whole meaning to the program. Sell more , charge less should be the motto not overcharge ripping the public off and getting rich. This store will be going out of business by not selling anything and losing customers unless a head corporate supervisor gets involved ASAP! I donated two beautiful antique oak chairs. I paid at least $75 for one in an antique store. Drove them to store in Maple Shade and told the young man they were antiques. He put them out on the floor immediately. I heard a man ask about the nicest one and the young man said $3. I told him it was an antique and not to do that. He repeated $3. I told the manager what happened and he said sorry. It wasn't worth my gas and time to drive them over there. Next time I will sell them on line. I thought I was helping out. For $3 I would have put them in the trash or handed them over in the parking lot. I will never ever donate there again and I hope the gentleman enjoys his bargain chair. read more

The executive director is extremely unpolished and crass and is the main reason other than the board of directors since they allow her to act this way. But I would go to another Restore in the area, most counties have one and it's the Burlington County Greater Trenton -Princeton that has the worst reputation in the tri state area. I use to LOVE shopping here. We would come almost every weekend and usually walked away with something awesome. However we've noticed a downward trend in the store(s) lately. There is never anyone to help you, and if you can find someone they are completely clueless and walk away saying they will find someone to help and never return. The aisles are cluttered and littered with debris making it hazardous to walk around. In the new area for furniture you literally have to walk through a maze to see a piece you like. The rugs are piled and crumpled on top of each other making a mountain of rugs. No possible way to even look at them.... Also their prices are getting out of hand. The kicker was this weekend we went and saw a stack of picture frames marked for $20 dollars even (each). Every one of them was broken in some way, and they all still had the original store price tag of $19.99 on them. WHY IN THE WORLD would I pay MORE for something that is broken than it was originally priced in the store??? You use to be able to get nice furniture and DIY materials for a REASONABLE price. We stop here from time to time on our way to visit our daughter who's rehabbing her house. My husband always checks out the building supplies and often finds something he can use at a reasonable price. They have the building materials in a separate building from the furniture, so there's a lot to look at. The furniture can be dated or have a "hotel" room look, but sometimes there are some gems among the offerings. Recently, we got a lovely red leather Lazy Boy recliner/rocker for $100. The wood arms had some scraping/scratches, which shouldn't be too hard to touch up, and it was missing the power supply attachment. For about another $25 we should be able to replace. Considering the chair retails for over $1100, I'd say we did all right. You just have to keep an open mind. You probably won't be able to find exactly what you're looking for, but you might be surprised at what catches your eye. read more
