After talking with some friends we heard about Vince. He came to our home, listened to our ideas, and viewed our spaces. Within a few days we had his bids for each job. As a general contractor, with over 30 years in the construction business, we felt confident he would be the best person for our jobs. Vince started the day he said and finished all the projects within the time line given - 5 weeks. He brought drop clothes, trash cans, buckets and all the tools /materials needed for the job. We had pre-ordered all our bathroom fixtures, tile, fans, vanity, mirrors, but he bought what was needed for installation (or my husband went to our local Lowe's / Home Depot for him) which made the process easier. He added the materials bought to our invoices. His work was impeccable, we learned a lot along the way and in some places he was able to improve the infrastructure. Such as plumbing, ventilation and insulation. We would highly recommend him to anyone looking for a remodel big or small. He is a great contractor!

The project took just over 3 months to complete, and we were extremely impressed with the quality of the work done on our home. Faruk handled any issues (very few) that arose during the project so that we didn't need to worry or stress. We appreciate how direct and down to earth Faruk is. We know he and his band of experts care deeply about delivering top-notch quality workmanship. Mission accomplished with our project! The crew (Idan, Sergio, Mauro, Samir, Juan, Miguel, Jose, Antonio) that worked on our home were very competent, exceptionally skilled and exceedingly respectful. The New American Construction team surpassed our expectations and gave us a brand new home, which we are very proud to show off to our family and friends. We love our new home. Our deepest thanks to Faruk and crew for making our vision become a reality. Without a doubt, we would highly recommend New American Construction to our family and friends.

Faruk started a construction on a house/ADU on a cul-de-sac well over a year ago. (Note: This…read moreoverlaps with one of his reviews so I suspect some of the reviews are fakes.) They apparently don't have an actual place of business and/or construction yard so they use the neighborhood parking to store their construction equipment. They also don't have a construction yard so all their workers have to park their junky vehicles around the neighborhood. What kind of "construction" company doesn't have a construction yard and place of business to store their equipment and instead using the neighborhood they are working in? Faruk has gotten into multiple yelling fights with the neighbors. Completely rude. Last week started screaming at a 73 year old neighbor lady in the middle of the street causing all the neighbors to come out of their houses because they were concerned for her safety. He screamed at her that he "hoped she would die soon." What kind of monster says that? The construction seems to be taking 10x longer than it should and looks terrible so far. They also make a mess 7 days per week. I would be shocked if the other reviews are actually real as Faruk has repeatedly lied to the neighbors. Look on the other forums online as this is a common complaint by other people that have dealt with him. If you want your neighborhood to hate you, hire him.

DO NOT USE this company. I hired this company to complete a seemingly easy job of installing and…read morepreparing the necessary duct work and othere necessities including electricity for a new range hood. The job started off well with both Jessie and Bryan showing up to review the job and schedule the work. Jessie was identified as the person who would be doing the job. She did show up on time and with two other workers. They completed the job, or so I thought, quickly. However when it came time for the range hood to be installed, the installer noticed the wrong size ducting had been installed by Generations Remodeling. On further inspection, the installer identifed that the needed framing to support the range hood was not completed. Generations Remodelling were given the spec sheet of the range hood. They are the supposed licensed (more on that in a bit) experts. They were supposed to follow the instructions to identify and install any needed requirements for this very straightforward job. Well the range hood installer left giving me a list of things to accomplish before their return. I texted Bryan regarding this and his response that he was only responsible for the items on the invoice and if the wrong ducting was used he would have someone come out and replace it. The old saying 'fool me once shame on you fool me twice shame on me' lit up like a neon sign in my head. So I crawled into the attic to review the work they had done. That's when I noticed that the ducting was adhered to my roofing with a single piece of tape with daylight shining through (see pic). Additionally they left the old ducting in the attic (see pic). So now I need to have someone install the correct ducting, adhere it correctly to the roof and complete the needed framing. So much for a straightforward job. Additionally, I have just found out that the license printed on their business cards is cancelled (see pic). So would I receommend this company, NO.

Unfortunately, my most recent experience was deeply disappointing and has left me unpaid for the work I completed. David hired me to install flooring at a high-rise project. The job was already behind schedule when I arrived, and on top of that, the wrong flooring had been delivered, delaying the start by over a week. Despite these setbacks -- none of which were under my control -- I began work and was pressured by David to move quickly. I reminded him, as he knows from past jobs, that I focus on doing things correctly, not just quickly. Three days into the job, David informed me that painters were coming Monday. I couldn't work over the weekend due to building restrictions, so I waited to hear back from him about the next steps. After a week with no contact, I reached out -- only to be told that he had finished the job without me and that he felt I had "poor work ethic." This came as a shock and felt like I was being made the scapegoat for delays that were outside my control. When I asked to be paid for the work I had already done, David agreed on an amount and said he would mail me a check. A week passed, no check arrived. When I followed up again, he told me he'd pay in a "timely manner" -- and then threatened to involve the police if I contacted him again. To this day, I have not been paid for the labor I provided. This experience was disheartening and unprofessional. I'm sharing it in the hope that others in the trades -- or anyone hiring this company -- understand what kind of behavior they might be dealing with.

David came recommended to us through a friend who is an award winning decorator - she blessed us with David & his Better Life Construction business recommendation. We did not have formal "plans" - we had an awesome designer, Ben La-Haise w/Dixieline in Del Mar, put together our wishes (he did all the measuring and layout and worked with us to order custom cabinets, tile, sent us directly to the faucet & fixtures company, and ordered us the perfect medicine/mirror set up). David improved upon our design, found creative solutions to flush mount the mirror set-up, has the best glass contractor (our glass shower doors & walls are over 9 feet tall), and made sure that our triple closet door looked like it had always been there mounted flush with the floor and trimmed every area worked in perfectly. David and his crew also rolled all my carpet back in the master bedroom and got rid of all the squeaky spots in the 2nd story floor - wow! The finished product was so well put together, thought out, finished on time, within budget - no hidden expenses appearing - it was our easiest project ever. David & his crew were always on-time, notified us in advance of their schedule, working other jobs at the same time and keeping all of his customers happy. I almost don't want to share this information - I know he will just get more business and I have more projects haha David is a devoted family man, his employees & contractors are as respectful, responsible, and reliable as David.
