With so many shops in Jewelers Row, it's somewhat of a mystery to me how anyone can find the right place to go. However, I'm assuming most of the business is by word of mouth, which is how my husband came upon Watson Jewelry after hearing about it from a friend. He got my engagement ring here (which I love), so we decided to come back when it was time to pick out our wedding bands.
This place is on the 10th floor of a somewhat big building. We came on a Saturday morning and signed in at the front desk and took the elevator up. Once you get up there, you have to ring the doorbell to be let in.
They have a really sweet selection of rings and other jewelry. There were a few rings that I really wanted because the stone was a really pretty color, but it wasn't the "traditional" wedding band and probably would have been too funky next to my engagement ring, but damn did I want it. *hint to my husband if he reads this*. I did end up finding a ring I really liked and went well with my engagement ring, even though it wasn't part of the same set, which is awesome because then you're not limited to what you can get. They had some neat dude rings too. My husband got a Tungsten ring that's pretty beefy and manly...and didn't bust my sad, sad budget.
We had to get our rings resized but it didn't take very long and while we were there, we got them cleaned for free. Seriously, this is a must. It's surprising how grimy your ring can get. Overall, we had a good experience here. The owner and his son were really helpful and not at all pushy the way some of the big box jewelers are. I'm sure if we had walked out of there with nothing, they would have been just as nice. read more
