We ordered the beef with housemade rice noodles, the sizzling chicken with veggies, and the beef fried noodles with veggies, along with the chicken hot and sour soup. EVERYTHING was delicious. The food ingredients were high quality and fresh and every dish was perfectly seasoned (just needed a little salt or soy sauce to taste). Then we shared the fried banana with ice cream for dessert! It was an absolutely wonderful way to end our meal. More great flavors.The waitstaff was kind, welcoming and accommodating. We didn't have reservations, but we were still able to easily get a table on a Sunday night at 7:00. The restaurant was filled with happy diners of couples, friends and families. And it's a very pretty and very comfortable place to relax and have a wonderful meal. We would certainly return and would highly recommend the Royal Garden. With the price of 60 kr for two baos, it's a little bit steep everywhere else but Denmark (well, maybe not Norway but I am not even sure if there are baos up there in the arctic circle) but I would definitely shut up and let them take my money. Very shocked and surprised to find shark fin soup in Denmark, a country that is usually quite well-informed and progressive in matters concerning conservation and animal protection. There are at least two other Chinese restaurants in this part of the city that do not feature shark fin soup, the nearest one being Nihao on Østerbrogade, literally just a few blocks from here. In case you don't know what my beef with shark fin soup is, the problem comes in the way the sharks are caught, and the fact that shark fins contain no flavour or nutritional value at all, they are entirely made up of cartilage. When sharks are fished for the fins, they are typically caught, their fins are cut off, and the still living, but slowly dying, shark is tossed back in the water. Won't be visiting this place, and I'd urge others to stay away, too.
