What a hidden little treasure. I was a little underwhelmed from the view outside/vibes however once we were seated and looked at the menu that changed. They have a lengthy menu from dim sum to traditional Chinese plates. We ordered one entree and noodles and were very satisfied. The sweet and sour chicken was spot on! More chicken than filling and the sauce was great. This was with rice. The noodles were also great texture and very flavorful. They accept visa here so need to bring cash. Just an fyi because this is Copenhagen you can expect this meal to be a little pricier than what you're use to. Also their hour on Google/Yelp might be off so worth a call or dropping by earlier in the evening if you want dinner here. read more

Wow, what a great find in Copenhagen! This place was a few steps from our hotel (The Phoenix). We walked by it 2 times while coming home in the evening, and sawbthrough the window some really happy faces, eating really great looking dishes. We decided to stop in on a Tues night finally. The menu is very large and diverse, having both Cantonese and Sichuan dishes They also do DimSum, and HotPot. We would normally be skeptical of these sort of "some of everything" places, but we asked about the chefs, and they have multiple, to specialize in the DimSum and Sichuan dishes. We order sea bass in chili oil. It was a while fresh sea bass, briefly deep fried to crisp the skin, then set to simmer in a big pan of Sichuan chilli s and veggies. The fish was melt-in-your-mouth tender, the vegetables were perfect and the chili not too spicy. We also ordered steam scallops in glass noodles which were all so delicious. And an appetizer of cucumbers Szechuan style with chilli and garlic. The garlic sauce on the cucumbers were actually the best we've ever had. We're quite happy to find this little gem here in. We were so are so happy in fact we came back again on Friday night for a quick dinner. This time we had stir-fried lamb in cumin; which unfortunately was way overcooked and dried up. We also ordered beef ho fun which was very delicious. So overall rating this place four stars; would have been five stars if the lamb was not ruined. read more

We were in Copenhagen and craving for Asian food and it so happened to be few yards away from our hotel, the menu and the pictures seem so appetizing. We ordered beef vegetables were very salty congee not much taste Singapore noodles has some spices pork buns were dry and not much pork. Peking duck wasn't so bad and the fried chicken was the best. Upon entering, the guy that seemed to me incharge looked passed us and walked to the kitchen in the back. The front of the place with the great natural light was filled with Asian diners. The hallway had tourists and the nicely appointed room in the back was populated by Asians. We got a dirty table opposite the bar beyond the hallway. The dim sum was pretty good except the spare ribs were not edible - fatty with splintered bone and tasteless. Service had no warmth or even an attempt at graciousness. Do NOT order from this places especially take away. We ordered 5 dishes. Fried pork with sweet and sour sauce it was basically a huge dump of dough without Meat. Horrible sweet and sour sauce disgusting fried pork "dough" . Also the Hongkong style duck seems like it was made 48 hours ago the Meat was insanely Hard and chewy! Had absolutely no taste.. Some other dishes was smashed with chili sauce and did not have Any taste at All. Even their Rice was very watery so it felt like we were eating porridge. Dimsum is what they market themselves on, but their Sichuan dishes is where it is at! I ordered Kou Shui Ji (mouth watering chicken). This is a cold dish that are chopped boiled chicken marinated in chili oil, vinegar, soy, and garlic. Delicious! The are also one of the only places serving real deal xiao long bao (soup dumplings) in Copenhagen. I had to dock them down one star for serving their dumplin in a aluminum tray, but the broth inside the dumpling was very clean. I would say better than Din Tai Fung in Glendale. Overall a great place for those who want authentic Chinese. read more

The Chinese waitress there does not want to serve English-speaking customers. She told me I had to finish my meal by 5:30pm, yet she left me there waiting for 25 minutes without tea or water, and she never brought me the appetizer I ordered. Her attitude was really bad toward Chinese and English speakers. She did everything to drive me out the door. I suppose she has some personal problems. But treating customers like that is unacceptable anywhere. It's Christmas Eve, I'm not going to let her ruin my holiday and vacation time. New open Cantonese restaurant ! Finally found my favorite Cantonese food restaurant ! Delicious dim-sums! Strongly recommend "Shrimp Toast" and "XiaoLongBao"(a kind of dumpling) hmm, taste like home! Very special and beautiful decoration in the restaurant. Chinese style painting on the wall with strong color blend with Nordic design dinner tables and chairs! And with that price on menu! When we first walked in a little before 7pm, it was very quiet with only two diners sitting by the open patio doors. I had to walk almost all the way to the back of the restaurant to find someone working there to seat us. As we looked over the menu, I couldn't help but admire the interiors; definitely not what I expect when I go out to eat Chinese food or dim sum. Comfy designer chairs, detailed murals, HUGE square plates, and a giant hanging lamp. However, a conga line of Chinese tourists suddenly started coming in through the entrance and filled up the whole back room. This turned up the volume inside, in addition to the open patio doors letting in the noise from the street. The summer breeze was nice, but quite a few trucks and motorcycles enjoyed speeding through that street and I had to shout to speak a few times. To make things worse, some customers went out to smoke by the patio and the smell drifted in through the open doors. Luckily the food made up for this. Char siu bao: Small serving but great flavours and nice bun. We even ordered a second round! Tofu skin roll: Great texture with wood ear mushrooms inside. Shumai (listed as prawn and pork dumplings): Probably the best one I've tried in Copenhagen. The shrimp and pork are coarsely chopped so you get great texture instead of using mince. Black tiger prawn dumplings: Good, but I didn't like the sauce (mayo?). Prawn and scallop dumplings: Hands down the best dish we had here. The rice paper containing it was very well-made and the tobiko topping was nice. Cheung fun with prawn: Good. Very tidy presentation compared to other dim sum places. Deep fried bbq pork puffs: Our server suggested this and I'm glad we got it. The pastry looked beautiful but was very delicate and crumbled between our chopsticks. Best to just use your hands I guess. Tasty! Potstickers: Very nice. The menu says you get five but we got six. (: We also wanted to get the turnip cakes but they were unfortunately sold out. Overall the dim sum was good with some obvious standouts. The prices were comparable to Royal Garden. But I have to say, I prefer the ambiance there or at Fu Hao. This place looks upscale but service can be too laid-back and the noise/smoke from the street annoyed me throughout the meal. I would like to come back for the prawn and scallop dumplings and shumai at some point but I guess it will have to be after summer when they close the patio doors and there aren't so many tourists. read more

If you're looking for a decent Chinese restaurant in Copenhagen you probably won't be disappointed with Diamond Rice. Unfortunately your experience may vary depending on what you order. It's a bit of a hit or miss with the dim sum items but most of the entrees were good. It's probably more like a 3.5-4 star restaurant than a solid 4. read more

I'm going to begin my review by saying that it's very rarely that I step out of my comfort zone when it comes to dining. My experience at Diamond Rice began with the fact that our favorite dim sum restaurant Royal Garden was closed due to summer vacation *rolls eyes* and so off we went to find a nearby alternative which happened to be Diamond Rice. Location-wise, this place is very touristy, almost smacked right next to Nyhavn at Skt. Annæ Plads and we were proven right when busloads of (Chinese?) tourists came streaming to this place for dinner while we were there. It was somehow a catch-22 situation, since maybe it was a good thing that Chinese tourists were dining here, after all - they're Chinese and know their food? but it could mean a bad thing if this restaurant caters only to tourists. Putting skepticism aside, we placed our orders and our dim sum dishes turned out to be okay. Not spectacular but perfectly edible and some were surprisingly good, this can be due to the fact that I set my bar too low when entering this supposedly tourist trap. The char siu bao that could be used as a yardstick for dim sum places anywhere were good and so were the shiu mai. The prawn and scallop steamed dumplings were somewhat above the par. Excellent. I do however still fancy the same old tofu roll at Fu Hao compared to the one I had here. Service was polite and attentive albeit for one odd thing (that pulled one star down from supposedly a three-star review) that when I got up to take a picture of the food (duh, we are yelpers after all!), some waiter (possibly owner since he was dressed in just t-shirt and capri pants???) suddenly came grinning, bent his knees down by our table and posed with the food. WHAT. THE. F. He probably thought that he was being chummy with some jolly Chinese tourists (that came in group as previously stated), but I am no Chinese tourist and I am far from jolly when dealing with strangers. A quick death glare from my side to his awkward presence by our table quickly resolved the odd situation as he moved away pretty quick and behaved quite professional the rest of the night. Maybe it is asking too much, but I don't want my waiter to be all-pal with me throughout a dinner service. I expect service, not friendship, by the end of my meal and I definitely don't want his photo show up on my Instagram feed. ...and until then, I stick to my lovely Royal Garden and Fu Hao thank you very much. read more

The place is clean and atmosphere is nice and all positives of the restaurant are over at this point. I rarely give this kind of bad ratings but I have to. First issue is the lady working there was very loud and rude when we entered, yelled may I help you and put a face as if she is doing a big favor to us by allowing us to eat there and secondly she went on and on how they charged money for water and she didn't want any trouble for final bill etc. Also she insisted that the restaurant will be closed in hour and we do our business of eating quickly. At this point I was thinking myself that the food will be great and the bad taste in mouth will go away. No the lamb with cumin that I ordered is pretty average and my friend ordered braised tofu and that was average too. I only felt comfortable leaving this place. read more

I love this place, Ive been there over 5 times with my Family and we love it! My dad is Chinese, and says that all the food there reminds him of his life back in China! I especially love the hot wings, I could even say that they're better than the ones at KFC! The only thing I would recommend is maybe have some more desserts? For authentic dim sum (Chinese tapas) and Catonese duck, this is the place to get it. We didn't expect to fly all the way from the U.S. to grab Chinese food, but it was a pleasant surprise. It looked totally empty when we got there Saturday night around 5 p.m., but got slightly busier by the time we left. I ordered the prawn and pork dumplings (shui mai), which came out moist and perfect, and the duck noodle soup (Catonese duck with he fen noodles -- the thick, white, slippery noodles made from rice). It was more than enough food, but SO good. My friend ordered the seafood rice noodles dish (vermicelli) and loved it as well. She's never had octopus in her dishes before, which alarmed her, but it was easy to pick off. read more
