I contacted the pool installer to see if they could come give me tutorial on the equipment they installed but couldn't even get a call back. I contacted at-least 5 other pool companies for a tutorial/inspection and quote for weekly service. One told me to take pictures and come to their store (not helpful), 1 setup appointment but were no show. The other 3 wouldn't return calls or emails. First coast contacted me back within hours of my request and came out 2 days later. The owner was super friendly and explained everything to me and answered all my questions. Ended up setting up a weekly service to get pool under control. I may end up taking it over myself once I understand it more but they are so friendly I may just keep the weekly service. They have been here twice now, pool is clean, equipment is working and provide a email service report each week with photo of pool, chemical readings and summary of the chemicals added and services rendered. Highly recommend this growing company if you need pool service!!

Do not use this company. We hired them a few years ago to redo our entire pool deck. After about…read moreseveral months of absolutely no progress (I mean nobody showing up or calling for that entire period) they finally admitted they didn't have the equipment to complete the work. Then earlier this year, our warranty company assigned them as the contractor to replace our pool heater when it broke down. They sold us a unit at a discount because it was an older model but they promised it had never been taken out of the box. This new heater has not worked correctly since installation. It shuts off with error messages every time I run it. I contacted the manufacturer as it is still under warranty with them, but unfortunately they sent out Florida Leisure to "fix" it. First their technicians told me that the unit was too big for my system, in which case then why did they install that unit? But then they said it was a water flow issue and said there was nothing they could do to help. So that's it. I'm going to have to pay out-of-pocket for somebody to come and test the sensors, etc. Or I may have to replace the entire unit.

Just over a year after installation, the new pool coating is failing. There are numerous voids where the coating did not adhere to the pool shell. Those sections are now discolored, and calcium flakes are forming where air voids exist behind the coating. Best Florida Pool and Spas acid washed the surface earlier this year. This would have been an opportunity to identify the adhesion problem, but the issue was either not recognized or not communicated to me. Separately, Best Florida Pool and Spas installed a heater a few years ago that remains under warranty. The circuit board has failed. I have requested the purchase invoice needed to file a warranty claim, and they have not provided it. My recommendation to anyone considering this company: put a formal written contract in place before proceeding, so that you have clear documentation and legal recourse if problems arise.

I am extremely disappointed with our experience with SHIPP Shape Pool…read more My parents hired this company to professionally install their above-ground pool, and the installation was done incorrectly. The pool is not level, the water visibly leans to one side, it is buckling in several areas, and multiple support legs are not installed correctly. These are serious installation issues that have not been corrected. After contacting the owner, he acknowledged there was a problem, told my parents the installer was his brother, and said he had fired him. He also assured them that he would personally come inspect the pool and make it right. That never happened. Instead, he sent the same brother back out. Rather than fixing the installation, he simply piled dirt around the bottom of the pool. None of the actual problems were addressed. The pool is still not level, still buckling, the water still leans to one side, and the support legs are still improperly installed. There have been multiple conversations and multiple opportunities to make this right, but nothing has been resolved. At this point, the pool appears to need to be completely taken down, the ground properly leveled, and the pool reinstalled correctly. Based on our experience, I cannot recommend SHIPP Shape Pool. We expected a professional installation and for the company to stand behind its work, but neither has happened.

Bad leaks around my steps made it impossible to keep the pool full and over time the older liner was trashed. New liner installed, refreshed resealed the stepz, painted the deck. Most importantly, we had a ground water problem that required us to install a proper dewatering system near the main drain of the pool to help make sure there was no ground water in the bottom of the pool. It's a big deal to me when getting involved in a big project to know that the person handling it has what's best for YOU in mind, and not what's best for their wallet.
