I have been using Allen's service a few times since moved to Burnaby, and feel extremely satisfied…read morewith his service. We have 2 vehicles, while the 2nd one is rarely used. Early this year, I brought both vehicles to Allen's store for oil change. Allen checked the 2nd vehicle and told me that it didn't need an oil change. I insisted to do an oil change on that vehicle since it had been almost half year since last oil change. Allen went back having the vehicle checked again, he then told me that oil life percentage was about 80% and no oil change needed at all. He also told me that since the vehicle was not used that often, we didn't need to worry about it unless oil change reminder light is on. Few months later, I found a nail in one of the tires. I planed to have that tire replaced, but my neighbor told me that I should have all 4 tires replaced for safe purpose. So I went to Costco for a replacement but they were too busy to get it done that week. I then stopped by Allen's store to see if he could get them replaced. Allen checked and told me that patching the tire would be enough, and no replacement needed. After having that hole patched, Allen examined the whole tire again and found a small hole on the same tire. He went ahead patched the 2nd hole for me as well. There are also other small stories but I don't want to spend too much time writing everything. Throughout the years I had visited different auto shops, and Allen is definitely the best one. He is always very friendly and extremely honest. Allen helps to get problems resolved and save customers' money.

Really weird.

A recent trip to Whistler was an eye opener: one of our tire was popped and needed to be patched, and there was a funny sound when starting the car about to drive home on Sunday. By Tuesday of the same week, The Hubs said he can barely start the car. He took public transit to work while I looked for an auto shop to take my car in for the day. Called a couple of shops and they are full for the week. I randomly searched and came across this place on Google that is tucked away in the end of a long brown building. Walter picked up the phone and was genuinely concerned about my car and whether I can start it. He asked me some great questions that should be easy to answer, but I have no clue since The Hubs handles the maintenance. Walter was very patient with someone that has minimal knowledge about their car and gave great instructions to explain how to get to the shop and what to do once there. Once I figured out how to start the car, I drove over and drop off my car with Walter at 12pm, who also asked me if there's anything else they need to check for me. Informed him of the tire problem and he said he'll make sure someone take a look and torque it as well. Walter called at 2pm and let me know the diagnosis and what is needed to be repaired. Turns out battery is end of its life and needs a new one. Also, my tires are getting bare and needed some new treads - Walter said he can find and give me a few options. By 3:30pm, Walter called back and said the car is ready. Made my way back and explained the what they have done, how much it costs and also the tire options. The price is fair. I feel assured by their level of service and knowledge. I'm very glad I stumbled upon them. Overall: Walter & team is great. I have a great service, fair prices, and I will take my car to service there again.

I'm extremely disappointed after having this vehicle independently inspected…read more Before purchasing the car, I spoke directly with Tuan because he was the mechanic who had been servicing the vehicle. I was told that Tuan had actually inspected the car the DAY BEFORE I spoke with him, so I specifically asked him about the condition of the vehicle before making my decision to buy it. During our conversation, Tuan told me the car had a small exhaust leak. No other significant problems were mentioned to me. Given that I was speaking directly with the mechanic who had reportedly inspected this exact vehicle just the day before, I understandably put significant weight on what he told me. I was left with the impression that, aside from the small exhaust leak, there weren't any major issues I needed to be concerned about. Unfortunately, shortly after purchasing the car, I had it independently inspected and discovered a VERY different picture. The independent inspection found very worn control arm/subframe bushings, with the control arm issue considered urgent, front tires worn as low as 2/32", a coolant leak, a weak battery, old engine oil and a non-functioning centre brake light, among other maintenance concerns. Had Tuan not seen the vehicle recently, I could understand him not knowing its current condition. What concerns me is that I specifically contacted him because I was told he had inspected the car the previous day, yet the only issue mentioned to me was a small exhaust leak. I obviously cannot know exactly what was observed during that inspection or which issues Tuan was aware of, so I won't claim that I do. However, I find it extremely concerning that another inspection shortly afterward identified multiple problems--including an urgent suspension issue and front tires worn as low as 2/32"--that were never mentioned to me. Had I known about these issues, they absolutely would have affected my decision to purchase the vehicle and what I was willing to pay for it. Based on my experience, if you are considering purchasing a used vehicle that has been serviced or inspected here, I would strongly recommend getting an independent pre-purchase inspection before relying on the information you are given about its condition.

I found Kingsway Brake and muffler. So I called first and talked to one of their mechanics. Estimate was reasonable and they could get me in the next day. I got a call saying front brakes are in need of replacement, and quoted me just over $500 for parts and labour. It was done and ready that same day! Happy customer!!

I've never been so demeaned for being a woman. I called back for a refund after the refused to service me. Meanwhile Richard the owner sat in my car and googled codes he wasn't able to fix. The issue? My mechanic told me later that the tube they replaced in April was leaking, and that's what they refused to fix due to what I believe is incompetence. I called the following day for a refund and Allan told me to come in again and I said I didn't trust their work after coming in and waiting. Allan was extremely rude and dismissive after my long wait to an empty shop. If you aren't in an emergency, or a woman, AVOID this place. They add things to the bill without asking (my initial visit I was charged $100 for coolant I didn't want). Reported to BBB. Awful service. No one at Jiffy lube answered basic questions and in fact couldn't even find the leak! An appointment to fix the issue never happened. The owner, Richard, spent an entire hour sitting in my car Googling basic diagnostic codes on his personal cell phone. He did not know how to fix the issue, yet I was still charged [Insert amount if you want]. Falsely claiming we scheduled a follow-up is an attempt to cover up a complete lack of basic expertise and a rip-off. Future customers beware.
