Great store! Coupon app is amazing! Great employees and always nice at checkout. Pharmacy is also great. Once The pharmacist pulled up a coupon for my one time no generic prescription and saved me $30. The staff is caring and personal. I only gave a 4 start because many times I go, the lines are long and I wish they had more checkout lanes open. read more

In most cities I've lived in there are usually 2 huge chains of grocery stores. Like St. Louis there was Dierbergs and Schnucks. (Dierbergs was my choice for their fresh foods to go and produce). In South Florida people pick Publix or Winn Dixie. I've been a bigger fan for Publix for the same reason I liked Dierbergs it was always fresher. Well welcome to Texas where everything is bigger in Texas. No room for a #2 store in San Antonio when you have a HEB. This place has everything from garden stuff, jewelry a few small toys, employees cooking or doing the wine area, free sushi samples (most of the time), huge area of fresh meats, veggies, cheese, and wines. The company really has thought out convenience. They have cup holders on the carts, disinfectant wipes in the cart area, a restaurant at this location, the meat department is awesome and fast. Best part of my trip when I bring my daughter is HEB bucks. They give your child a few pieces of fake money to put in the wheel to spin (think Wheel of Fortune) and they get points to go towards a prize. I'm not above telling my daughter if she's a hot mess in the store, she isn't getting her HEB bucks. So yes HEB you rock. I'm a huge fan and if I have to ever move again the other stores have big shoes to fill like the size of Texas. read more

Love the HEB products, great quality and cheaper than national brands. It gets crazy during rush hour so I avoid that but what do you expect in Schertz the capital of the world? Normally I go after 10pm and the whole store is MINE MINE MINE hahaha. - -Some reviewers hate crowds so they should avoid them. I go in and out at this time. I told the manager Alex, I wish they had the butter tortillas here like other HEB's and he took my number. Alex called me days later to tell me they now make some butter tortillas daytime. This is a great store, extremely busy. The only complaint I have is not enough help on the floor. When I am there it is hard to find someone to help, nearly impossible to find someone glad to help. So this time, I called, and waited even on the phone for a while. When I did get someone they were rude about doing a price check then hung up. At least I tried customer service both ways. Still disappointed with in store and phone customer service. Be happy people that you have work to go to. read more

This store is the worst. I drove thru parking lot while they force us to pass thru construction area where workers have left out trash that damaged my vehicle HEB took no effort to clean up mess and said they were not liable for the trash there construction team left out. I am now having to sue them in Small Claims court. read more

My review is simply for the wonderful florist at this HEB Blooms. I had my wedding flowers done here as it was the closest HEB to my venue and the women in the florist shop were an absolute delight. From the very first meeting about my design concepts all the way to the delivery the day of my wedding! I was kept in the loop if anything changed, and they were always so friendly. This location is terrible with Curbside! I'm wasting money with you guys buy either not receiving my items or items going bad and I'm having to replace them. I picked up my grocery order yesterday today I come home from work and want to start cooking dinner for my family and I pull out the ground turkey that I purchased a day ago and it's bad!! My house smells like death and once again I'm tossing meat from HEB. I've worked a long day of work, I do not want to go into the store because that is a total nightmare!! It's always packed and not enough registers open! So now I have to spend more money and order pizza for my family. Unfortunately this is not the 1st, 2nd or 3rd time this is happened to me but I'm pretty forgiving and understanding but now being dooped again by bad meat and missing items I'm done. The order prior I was missing 5 of my items, 5! I tried to log into my order and it wasn't registering my previous order so I couldn't dispute it right away. I had to call up to the location and tell them the items that were missing, they invited me to come in (wasting gas) and they will give those items back to me which is fine but it is a huge inconvenience when this should of been done right the first time. Your system is flawed. Can I get a refund for the pizza I had to order and the extra gas to drive back up to the location? LOL....terrible. Now I will just continue my shopping elsewhere and our local meat markets where I have never received bad meat or missing items. read more

This used to be a great store. I went almost every day. Since the "upgrade," I avoid it as much as possible. Just getting through the parking lot is hazardous. The store is poorly laid out (who puts canned goods and baking supplies on the same aisle and the rest of the baking goods on another aisle?). Customer service, which was one of the best things about the store, has all but completely disappeared. People now come from other cities to go to this store. I've been using HEB curbside and delivery for months. Recently, it's gone downhill to the point that I may never use them again. I just spent 45 minutes in the parking lot at curbside. I tried repeatedly to get a manager on the phone and was denied, my substitutions didn't show up in the system, nor was I asked about them. They simply didn't substitute them due to pure laziness. I essentially paid $12 to sit in my car with the gas running in the rain to get shorted on groceries bag I needed. I could have gone in and been out at that rate. A month ago I received rotten avocados, salmon bundled in a ball with no skin, among other things. When I complained they immediately apologized and promised to credit the account. They never created the account, so I switched stores. Today was the last straw. read more

The only reason in giving them 4 stars is because the parking lot is always full and it's a hassle to park. They recently converted this store into an HEB plus. It was kind of annoying to shop there during the construction because things were always being moved around... But that's understandable so I'm not taking it into consideration when rating them. Since its conversion the wait time at check out has drastically improved. The service is usually friendly and courteous. Before the conversion I would always have produce items rung up incorrectly and snotty cashiers but since they expanded I have seen lots of improvement. Since I have a 5 year old I am occasionally having to run I to their restroom and there has not been a time where its been messy. It's ALWAYS been clean and neat... Also the soap dispenser is always full. read more

Now, the parking is horrible, I have to chase people leaving the store so I can take their spot when they leave. the layout is the worst, they put everything you want at the back of the store, in hope you will buy the crap at the front of the store. While I throughly enjoy my HEB experience from the moment I walk in the door... till the time I'm checked with a smile; this particular recommendation is for the floral department. I purchase flowers here quite frequently but the past two visits have been beyond even their normal exceptional customer experience. Both instances I found myself in a hurry, wanting something quite specific, and working on a budget. The ladies came to my rescue with multiple options and a smile... I couldn't have asked for more!!! I used to do ALL of my grocery shopping at this HEB - but now have gone to the inconvenience of shopping at Costco & Walmart first. HEB just keeps dropping the brands that I like in favor of their own "in house" brands. I understand the difference in pricing and the attendant larger profit margins, but maybe they just don't care about chasing customers away. read more

This review is for the Curbside service at this specific location. We ordered (and paid for!) the imported Proscuitto ($25+ per lb) at one visit and rec'd (the properly labeled) $15+ per lb Boar's Head brand prosciutto... After much back and forth, we got that situation fixed. On the next order, we ordered (and paid for!) the imported Proscuitto ($25+ per lb) and received the $15+ per lb Boar's Head brand Proscuitto (that was labeled as the $25+ per lb imported Proscuitto, unfortunately, and cut waaaay too thick...) I'm guessing the deli meat department has no idea there is ACTUALLY a difference in the two Proscuittos. The Boar's Head brand is tough, very salty, and NOWHERE near as good as the imported Proscuitto. If you want the imported (much better!) Proscuitto... go in person and watch them slice it (shaved!) to get the best result. We won't be ordering it from the Curbside service anymore given their twice-in-a-row failure to deliver the ordered item correctly. Very disappointing... read more

This HEB is old looking inside and small. It is also so busy you just try to get out of there without getting into a verbal altercation. They are always out of items and don't give you very many choices. I think this is what happens when you don't have any competition. read more

This is an incredible grocery store. It has everything and their prices are very, very reasonable.

I often shop HEB Supermarkets because they are most convenient to my home location. I do have a word to the wise for those shopping in their fish department. I have purchased salmon at the Schertz HEB and have overheard the 30+ yr old manager telling his newly hired helper to give the minorities (much better wording than what he said) the left over scraps of fish in their orders as a means to get rid of the fish scraps that they are unable to sell. I purchased my salmon slab cut and sure enough there was some scrap fish cuts (unsaleable) added that I was charged for because of the additional weight. I will continue to shop at HEB, because of locations and do not have problems with other departments or products there. But I will NEVER order from their fish department again especially at the Schertz HEB. read more

Parking lot still crap, busiest traffic corner in the area, prices highest even though they claim low! Car wash is awfull, the don't seem to realize that spot free since is low pressure and there is no wax??? Valero next door is much better! All in all, HEB is steeling compared to brand name items at Walmart and Target! In the time that HEB started this expansion in an small corner destroying any sense of spatial awareness, Walmart has planned and built another store 2 miles away! read more

I like HEB and even though they are a little high end I don't mind paying a little more if the quality is reasonable. I've been to this HEB and liked the different foods they carry. Once in awhile I drop by to pick up some fresh sushi. Having lived in California for 19 years I've become a big fan of sushi though good fresh sushi is hard to find in the Schertz area. I get it that if one goes looking for sushi for dinner and sushi makers are not making it right then and there then it's going to not be so fresh but the sushi I bought today was terrible. I at least expected it to be eatable but I wouldn't sale that sushi at 7 Eleven. HEB if you're going to sale $10 dollar old sushi at least make it eatable. I'll never buy sushi from HEB again. read more

Curbside pick up pricing is deceiving. They used to provide a trial offer and waive the pick up fee. Now they tack on a "3% personal shopper fee" to every item and also charge a pick up fee... Walmart is cheaper, closer, and provide the service free of charge. I'll go back to using them until HEB becomes more competitive. read more

Contrary to some of the other commenters regarding the Deli, I love the Deli staff.I never feel rushed even though I order small amounts of several cold cuts & cheeses.I go back more than twice a week to purchase deli because the brand I use goes bad fast & my kids don`t always eat the cuts right away.The staff may not always greet me. But hey,I`m not in a restaurant. If I need help & nobody is at the counter,I simply say, excuse me, & someone gives me their attention.If I forget to take a #tag & get helped after another person whose arrived after me, well too bad for me. The service is not the fastest,however, the manner in which they wrap up what they have just sliced is important.I appreciate their efforts in attempting to keep the items fresh.Perhaps they need to hire more people.Employees are human. We cannot expect perfection. Perhaps people in a rush need to realize not everyone is in a rush & is not going to slack off or pause their plans for them. I do not care for the parking lo & the fact that drivers speed through the lanes like they have an emergency, ALL THE TIME. I think good amount of a speed bump would help a lot! I don`t give 5 stars because not every place or person is perfect! Remember that when you are in the deli or the meat market or sushi area or bakery. Keep in mind you are shopping in a public place that is busy & employees should not have to rush or have sore jaws from fake smiling. You never know what someone else is going through. Sick child with cancer, sick child, loss of a family member or friend, divorce, abusive spouse or boyfriend, debt! You just never know what might be on someone`s mind. Whether they work in public place or not, they are human, like you. HEB corporate office, know that you do have customers who appreciate the hard work your employees put forth. I cannot understand why people are complaining about the Deli employees. However, I can understand people make mistakes & cannot always be as cheerful as Chick Fil A employees. read more

I can not stand this H-E-B. Parking is HORRIBLE!!!! There are so many one way aisles and it is always packed. Then you get inside and it's so crowded. I look for healthy foods and read the nutrition labels. There is no room and people get irritated if you stand in the aisle for too long. I'm not claustrophobic but I can't stand how many people are crammed inside. They do have food that is hard to find like Halo Top ice cream but now I will drive further rather than trying to find parking and being crammed inside of the store. I do not recommend this location due to parking and the crowd. read more
