Made the trip to the store my first H-E-B store had heard a lot of great things. After walking through and looking at what was available I have to say I was a bit underwhelmed. Definitely better than Tom thumb or Kroger but I like Market Street better. Then there is the other brand by HEB Central market. This is by far the ultimate grocery store in the Dallas area for me. I had high hopes that a regular HEB store would be great but it really was not so I will continue going to Central Market. read more

I have been in the McKinney area for over 30 years. The grocery business here has been very dynamic. Back in the 1990s it changed dramatically when Walmart moved in. The marginal players died out fast. No more Food Lion or Piggly wiggly, or Safeway. Very few Albertsons, Tom Thumbs, or Wynn Dixie. No great loss. After killing off the competition, Walmart went down hill. They stopped stocking a lot of good products. They usually only have 1 or 2 checkout stations open. Walmart needed someone to staighten them out or put them our of business. That someone is HEB!!! I remarried in San Antonio in 2006 and lived with my wife there for 2 years. We did most of our shopping at HEB there. The Hill Country brand was always finest quality. The stores were well staffed and well stocked. We moved to my farm in Blue Ridge,TX in 2008. We sorely missed HEB. We were thrilled that they were expanding into the McKinney area. We waited a couple of weeks after the grand opening of the Frisco store to try it out. Even, then the parking lot was full in the middle of the week. The Good: 1. They stock Wagu Beef. Two grades of ground and lots of cuts. Delicious!! 2. Store brand Grapefruit Juice. They have it on the shelf (not so Kroger). 3. Store brand English Muffins. Big. Nice Texture. In stock (not so Kroger). 4. Plenty of variety. They stock more brands than any grocery store in the area. They keep it stocked. 5. Loss leaders. 25 Cent Pumpkins! 6. Well staffed. Plenty of people on the floor to answer and direct. 18 checkout stations manned. No more than 2 people in line. Havent seen that at Walmart for 20 years. Keep up the good work HEB! The Bad: 1. Filling station. Head banging music played 3 DB over the threshold of pain. No way that I found to mute it or change to decent genre. Prices are not competitive with Sams or Brookshires. I guess I will stay well clear of this cacophonic torture chamber. 2. No decent Natural Peanut Butter (One that has only peanuts and salt) . We will buy Brookshires store brand natural Peanut Butter or Kroger's that don't have sugar or palm oil. Kroger also carries a real natural Peanut Butter. 3. No Hill Country long spear canned asparagus. Kroger carries their store brand long spear made in the USA (not Peru) canned asparagus. 4. Parking. It is a long hike to the front door. Maybe a shuttle to make the trip easier. Maybe when more stores open in the area to traffic will ease up. Ain't success a drag? (LOL) 5. No ultra-pasturized whole milk. Only the lactose free kind. We love the Kroger ultra-pasturized milk in it's many types. It keeps for ever. Probably not good for us but we like it. We would like to see Hill Country Ultra pasturized whole milk and heavy whipping cream. 6. No Cherry wood smoked Bacon. Brookshires carry it. HEB comes the closest to One Stop Grocery Shopping of any store in our area. Cant wait to see the new stores open in McKinney and Melissa. Until then We will make a weekly pilgrimage to Frisco from Blue Ridge and fight the crowds. Welcome HEB! read more

The employees are very friendly and seem to care about you. The check out lines are not very long, but at some times it would be nice to have a few more check out lines open. The food selections is good. Produce is great. The store is very clean and well stocked. The ready meals are good for lunches. We will be back. read more

HEB is the best!!! Sooo glad to have you in north Texas! This location is beautiful and has everything we need (and more)! We love not having to drive to Burleson or Waxahachie anymore for all of our favorite products (anything HEB or Hill Country Fare brand is 100x better than the "name brand"). The produce is so fresh, the coupons, combo locos, and meal deals save us so much money, and everything about HEB is worth raving about (cough cough fresh tortillas, tamales, Bakery tres leches cake, and literally anything else HEB brand). Thank you HEB for finding a home in Frisco and blessing our lives with this beautiful store! read more

I have been to HEB before when I was in Houston and I like the store. I had a bad experience at the Frisco TX location Deli Counter. They don't have a ticketing/queueing system, as a result people were cutting in line (including a HEB employee from another dept.!! ) and the Deli employees have NOT been trained to ask Who's next? I would strongly recommend that they implement a ticket system (take a number) at this counter. Also the lady who finally served me did not know how to cut lower than a 1. I usually get a .75 cut on my deli meat. The Deli Dept needs some extra care from the store leadership. read more

Not a good experience at HEB today, won't go back asked at the meat counter for ground beef none in case the person said only steaks and brisket for the weekend. My shopping basket was full, so I took it back to someone and left the store. Most of employees are very pleasant but management needs to step up to the plate. I did have Steaks and chicken in my basket, but wanted ground beef! Not sure why they can afford to turn business away. read more

Worse service provided by the pharmacy. Who call to tell you the medicine is ready 30mins before they close. And once you show up - they won't service you. WTH?!? Who does this??? I wasted time and gas for nothing. Ugh. Never ever using them!!! read more

Finally went to this HEB which is only a mile from my house, what a disappointment. Store is fine, service is good, but the quality of the HEB brands and their produce was awful...with one exception, their flour tortillas. The sliced to order HEB smoked Turkey lunch meat which was pretty expensive, was nasty, rubbery, very processed and had a slimy quality. Had to throw it out. The avocados tasted bad and turned bad within a couple days. The HEB bagels are also very expensive and were terrible. Anyway, not sure what the hype is about, but there are and have been many better options in DFW. I do like Central Market (HEB owned), have had much better quality across the board there. read more

Should be MINUS 5 points!! Fraudulent advertising!! I had the wine manager at the Frisco store apologize and smirk for a misleading and misguided ad. Regarding wine sale Nov. 30-Dec.6 2022. I went day after purchase of 18 bottles of wine only getting 10% off when ad said 20% off 12 bottles or more but fine print above said 20% off "their" favorite wine, whatever that is. I am going to report them to the BBB because crap like this should not be happening in this nasty inflation. I will NEVER shop at HEB again. You idiots have lost my business forever. I shopped in the HEB store in Frisco and I was very disappointed. After spending almost $100 I took my food home and I had chips that was stale, powder drink mix that was hard as bricks and could not use. Then to top it off every day I thawed a pack of meat to cook dinner for my family it smelled spoiled and turned color. I ended up throwing away almost everything I brought from there. This was not the experience I hoped for with all the good things I heard about this store. read more
