HEB has reclaimed their "good" status in my book. I decided to be the bigger "man" and get a Texas Driver's License to avoid any future confrontations resulting with uneasy feelings. It's an alright HEB, definitely better ones out there. They have a good natural health section. Cashiers are friendly. However the baggers on the other hand can use A LOT of training. For the floral department: Pat Otto and Miranda were amazing! They helped me with my wedding flowers and helped me plan every detail. Pat patiently listened and met with me several times, and was extremely helpful. When she was out on leave Miranda stepped in and helped me out as well. I had a beautiful cascading bouquet of black and red roses for my wedding with matching bridesmaid bouquets and boutonnieres. Even though they had so many other weddings to prepare for they treated me like I was the only wedding they were prepping for. read more

The meat is not always priced, so you have to ask. I will not buy any more marked down meat there, as it is usually stinky and bad. Even when you get regularly priced meat, it can be bad the very next day when you go to cook it. Organic produce is just never in good shape. Kroger's organic produce always looks so fresh, not beat up looking and scraggly (if they even have what you are looking for). This HEB was one of the best many years ago, but has steadily been going down hill for about 10 to 12 years now. And, I can't find most things in the store. They keep redoing everything and the same item of different brands may be in 3 different places. Also, they run out of nuts (pecans) in the "healthy living" section often. read more

I love this heb it's the best besides central market . It always has what my family needs on top of samples and tons of recipe cards that we always snatch up to make something new . Produce is always fresh and the women in that area are on point guys ;) .(yoga pants ) . We have tried other stores in the area and nothing compares . I like that they have their central market line alternative, and organically available canned and jarred goods. BUT their organic produce?? It's crap. Theirs is almost null and void. I am from Austin where HEB has everything and then some where organic produce is concerned. I'm super disappointed. I talked to the produce manager and they said the demand isn't there. Come on! This is friendswood. People have money here! And what is there is sad. Some apples, strawberries, and a few greens. Oh and the zucchini that's shrink wrapped and $2.57...great. So I shop at Kroger. I was going to The HEB on Pearland parkway, but this one is so much better and worth the little extra drive. They have an excellent cheese dept and they have the hot deli here. I love the salads and chicken dishes that are quick and easy to pick up. The lay out seems to flow so much better as well. Great and friendly place to shop. Everyone there is so great to my two young children. My only complaint is that sometimes they run out of items in the bulk bin section, and they often don't have the deli hummus (which is delicious!). I have been living in Galveston for 4 years and discovering this HEB has been like a dream come true!!! Having just been hired by a company across the street from this store, I am no longer subjected to Galveston's two choices of Randalls ($$$) or Kroger (Ghetto customers and tourists from Seawall Blvd). I have nothing negative to say about this HEB. I am there every morning for donuts for the office and lunch for me, and occasionally in the evenings for household items, groceries, and the like. It doesn't have a self-check line, but if that is the only drawback, I have to give this store 5 stars!! read more

I have lived in Texas since 2000 and this has always been my supermarket. Maggie, Sherry, and Victoria are always very pleasant to my children and me and they are a big reason I return. I do not see them as much and they seem to have been replaced by much younger associates who do not even say hello and have trouble scanning the markdowns and yellow coupons. Yes. I have that item that matches the yellow coupon. No. You don't have to dig through everyone of my bags to find it. They rearranged all of the aisles and it's hard to find things anymore. There are always workers moving things around and last week I heard a very eye-opening account of one girl's very intoxicated filthy weekend when I had to excuse myself through two of them to get some bacon. Glad my children were in school. I used to go every week and look forward to it, they usually have everything I need but I find myself going less often and supplementing with the Neighborhood Walmart across the street just to avoid some of the newly unpleasantness there. Has there been a management change here? Please fix it. I miss it. The stars are in hopes they bring my checkers back. read more

I love HEB as much as the next Texan, but this location has to be the weakest link in the chain, particularly when it comes to their ability to keep items in stock and on the shelves. Each time I visit this location, they're out of at least 1 item on my list. It's why I try to avoid shopping at this location, in favor of other HEB's around the area. read more

Traveling through the Texas Hill Country, I look for HEB gas stations where I can fill up. I stopped at the HEB in Hondo, TX recently and saw the sign about the $.12 discount on gas when using the HEB gift card. I purchased a gift card that would cover several fill ups. I returned to Houston, drove out of my way to get to an HEB gas station, and discovered , much to my dismay, that the promotion is not recognized in the "Houston area". Then to add insult to injury, I found that the "Houston area" includes College Station and Beaumont. That is a really large part of Texas. They should have their signage more specific as to areas where it is recognized. read more

Ok first off I just want to say I like this particular HEB store. It's really nice and has a little bit of everything. The gas station and car wash leaves a little but to be desired unfortunately. I went to the car wash today and I was waiting on the car in front of me to finish their wash. As I'm watching them the arm that dispenses the soap and watch came off of the track and hit the car it was washing. The car was able to pull out of the car wash but I'm sure it had some kind of damage. Of course I backed out of the lane you wait in and went to the teller at the gas station and told him what happened. He actually told me that was suppose to happen and he would reset it so I should go back through. I laughed at him and said I don't think so I just need a refund. He said he doesn't give refunds so I went into the store and talked to a manager. They didn't give me a refund just an HEB card for the amount. I guess that's good enough. Just thought I would warn anyone thinking about using that car wash. Use at your own risk. read more

Compared to some of the stores in Galveston, this one is great if you are already up in the Dickinson/Friendswood area. They have a ton of options and usually it's a little bit cheaper than some other grocery stores. The first time I came here, the produce section was A+. Everything I bought was fresh and delicious. This experience made me want to come back and shop here again, even if it is a little out of the way. The second time was not so great. A staple on my grocery list is fresh fruit and vegetables. Yes, I eat normal food too but the green items usually take over my cart. The raspberries were smashed. Every single carton. Most of the strawberries were moldy and smashed, and the blueberries were also. I don't like making two different trips to two different grocery stores after work for my grocery store staples. I will try HEB again, but just check the produce, especially the fruits! read more

Don't go there on the weekend. It's very busy. They run out of many items. It's quite crowded. The lines get long. In the evening when they stuck up they block The aisles. I've been to better HEB's. read more

We lived in Corpus Christi for years & their HEB's are awesome, so I was happy to find one in Friendswood. That said, this one I have found fault with over the years and have actually made suggestions/ complaints. I've complained several time over them replacing name brands w/ store brands--while I understand the practice--leaving some of the name brand in-store would be appreciated. This has driven me to split my shopping between here and Kroger. I've been very displeased when I've found bad items/ out of date/ punctured, etc and brought to their attention or brought back. If a customer finds an item in-store that appears defective and brings to their attention, they should be grateful...not act like it is my fault. Some of their staff are very nice, but overall--some of the strategy at this location has me confused. read more

Love this HEB. IOt is my local store and so much better than either Kroger. I love the guys doing the demonstrations, there food is always excellent, the recipes are simple and clear. They will steam any sea for you free of charge. I often get the shrimp, once or twice (out of maybe 50 times) it has been over cooked when I get it home. Took it back and got a refund, no problem. They sometime run out of some fresh vegetables late on the weekend - just because they are so popular. read more

This HEB has way too many expired items and they are very RUDE about it. Manager of this store told me that he can still sell milk for 2 weeks after an expiration date. So please CHECK the DATE on everything you purchase at this store. read more

The Friendswood store started off as an awsome store. I was so glad to leave Kroger and move to the HEB, then in the last couple of years, they rearranged everything and deleted a lot of things that I really like. Seems now that every time I go shopping there is another item that I have bought for years is no longer there. Common things like Quaker yellow quick grits! My husband and I have noticed that everything there is going south. The checkers and stockers are great. Management doesn't seem to care and are aloof. I seem to be gravitating back to Krogers, its further and sometimes costs more but at least I will get fresher items and the staple things (not no name brand) that I am used to and like. Also, would like to see more MADE IN USA products , especially dog treats. Wish I could say that it makes me feel better to get this off my chest but it doesn't, read more
