Great place to get my taxes done! The front office was friendly, knowledgeable, and made the whole process easy. It's also super convenient and close to home. Highly recommend! read more

Had my taxes done this year with Susan at H&R Block in Sunland. The office was very friendly. Susan got my taxes done around my weird schedule and was super professional. Cindy used to do my Mom's taxes and my Mom loved her too. It's a great office and they definitely have great customer service. I highly recommend them. read more

I had made an appointment to get my taxes done at the Sunland office, I showed up early like I always do and they had me sit and wait until my schedule time of 11:00 am and then Mr Lee informed me that he doesn't do Corporation's and therefore couldn't do my taxes for me. He then tried calling the Glendale office but they were fully booked and then he had me call the North Hollywood location and asked me not to say anything about him, the lady that answered the phone is actually in another state and informed me that I already had a scheduled appointment in Sunland and then I had to tell her that I was at that office and that Mr. Lee could not help me. She then scheduled me an appointment for 1:00pm and since it was 11:00 suggested that I get some lunch so I live about a block and a half away from the Sunland location and so I went back home and had something to eat for lunch and then I drove to North Hollywood and when I got about a block from the North Hollywood office someone called me and said they had to cancel me out cause someone had called in sick, I was like when did that person call in sick and they told me that morning and I said well I was scheduled around 11:00 to come in and why wouldn't you know who is or isn't in the office? The lady on the phone then told me it was my fault for scheduling at the last minute and I had to inform her that I had an scheduled appointment at the Sunland office at 11:00 am and that they had screwed up and scheduled me at the wrong office, she never said she was sorry and then said she could schedule me for Sunday at 1:00pm and I said okay. I then called my friend and he called his mother in law and got her to handle my taxes at the last minute, she is a certified CPA and a Book Keeper, when H&R Block finally sent me a text the following day then I called and let them know the events that happened to me and canceled them out. I also put in a complaint about what had happened to me. I Do Not recommend this tax company at this time. read more

I am only giving this place 1 star only because they were able to help with 1 item when it came to my taxes. I went in because I had some complications with 2021 tax returns, and I wanted to get it fixed. I go in there with my 2022 files and 2021 1040x forms and last years taxes. I was with Mr. Lee (Stay away from him) I specifically asked him "How much will everything costs" he begins to mumble some things about this that and the other I asked again "How much will it all cost so I will know whether to bring cash or just use my Credit Card" He perks up and tells me 295. I say great and I would have to come back the next day. The next day comes and my 2021 is all fixed up he tells me everything he did and i Sign then he brings out my 2022 and tries to make me sign without going over it with me. come to find out he is trying to charge an extra $259 on top of the $295 that we agreed upon. They have a classic Bait and Switch, at this location. I will be reporting to the BBB as well and if they have any Dignity they will contact and process my 2022 with the agreed upon price. NEVER SIGN without reading and seeing what they are charging. At the end of the day I paid for my 2021 tax return but not the 2022 due to the fact they tried to charge an extra amount without contacting me and letting me know the prices or how much anything extra would cost. read more

This tax firm is run by old women who probably know the tax codes of the 1950s. I saw Cindy and instead of helping me do my taxes, she acted like I was trying to conl her about something. Horrible tax preparer. Surely this firm can hire better more currently experienced people with better attitudes. I decided to do my taxes myself and I'm sure I did better than her who did nothing but put up roadblocks about all my legal and just deductions. read more

I had the misfortune of getting an appointment with a woman named Cindy who was not only ill informed but condescending throughout my 10 minute experience. I am not a tax professional which is why I needed her services. I did not need to be demeaned or be spoken to in an ironic fashion. A total fuddy fuddy who needs to be home baking cookies not dealing with the public read more

Incompetent and inept all in the same place. Took these idiots nearly 4 hours to due my taxes over 2 separate appointments. The first person could not figure out how to set up the second appointment, and the second one could not figure out how to enter my mileage nor could she find the address for the Franchise Tax Board in Fresno, California. Avoid these people. You are better off with a 5 year old, a crayola, and scratch paper. read more

Easy & fast service. Kacie C. helped me with my back taxes and she was super friendly and explained everything in simple terms since it's my first time doing my taxes. Got an amazing refund on all years, which i wasn't expecting. Kacie was super warm and inviting, made everything more relaxing. Definitely coming back next year! read more

THE WORST!!! We decided to go with this H&R Block last year since we had a little more complicated taxes (working in multiple states). We thought it was strange that we were having to pay $2,500 in CA & Federal taxes when we did everything the same as previous years and those years we received refunds. Well, about 3 months later, we received tax bills from 2 different states saying we owed $3,000 to each. Mind you, I only worked in each of those states for less then a week. One of the states said my wife owed the money when she never set foot in that state! After several attempts to find out what happened, we found out our tax preparer (SG) put that we were residents in those states and all the money we jointly made in 2016 was made in those states, as well as California. We went back to H&R Block and they were not very helpful or sympathetic. After several trips to the open locations (they closed several after tax day, so we had to drive way out of our way to find a open location), they gave us a document that was supposed to clear up the problem. Turns out that they AGAIN gave us the wrong document and we received treating letters from those states saying they were going to put lien's on our home and assists if we didn't pay. Several more trips and calls to H&R Block and they still weren't helping. They didn't even want to give us a refund for THEIR MISTAKES. We ended up having to contact these states ourselves and find and submit the proper paperwork. Six months later(!), WE cleared up THEIR MISTAKES. Do yourself a favor - there are plenty of good, competent Tax Preparers out there. Don't waste your time and money on H&R Block. They won't help you when they screw you over! read more
