I've been filing my taxes at H&R Block for maybe 10+ years now but this has been my first time at this San Ramon location. Making an appointment online is nice and easy and I love that they have my information stored. I made an in-office appointment for Carolyn but Yogapriya helped me instead. While I would have preferred to have my appointment when the person that I scheduled it for, or at least given a heads up, Yogapriya was amazing and had us in and out in about an hour. She even went above and beyond to get us a tax credit for the home energy renovations that we did last year. Overall, I had a positive experience here yesterday and even made sure to schedule an appointment next year with Yogapriya. My wife and I celebrated yesterday because this year was the first year that we will get a refund since we've been married. Hopefully, this becomes an annual celebration. read more

Bad customer service. After completing my filing, I needed to speak with my tax preparer -- only to find out she was no longer with the company. I was then transferred to a call center and told that "someone would call me back within the hour". That never happened, then I later received an email stating I had an appointment the next day at a time that I hadn't agreed to. read more

Unbelievably unprofessional and actually shocking they allow the people who work here to deal with sensitive personal and financial information. I had a video appointment at 3pm with Vaishnavi Ramakrishnan, who failed to show up to the video call and 25 minutes of waiting later I called their location, only for my tax preparer to nonchalantly say that the video option is not working (which I never got a call for or any heads up about). I asked why she did not call me to tell me this, and told her I had taken time off of my busy job to make this appointment. She did not care, provided no explanation as to why she would just completely ignore a scheduled appointment with a client, and kept asking me "how can I help you?" I was baffled and said, what do you mean how can you help me? We had an appointment and you failed to show up! She did not care and kept asking me "how can I help you?" Spoke very poor English and clearly didn't give a shit that people take time out of their day to make appointments. She couldn't care less. Will never try to use H&R block again. COMPLETELY inappropriate way to handle this situation. I reported the tax agent to their customer support. read more

My husband and I needed to have our taxes completed this year and wanted someone with experience with military. While doing research we found our preparer, Thilaka, who had 15 years of tax preparation experience to include military preparation. We hate doing taxes ourselves and she made the experience quick and painless. We were in and out of the office in less then an hour which is always a plus. Who wants to spend a lot of time doing or getting their taxes done? I have been a loyal customer to H&R Block San Ramon Branch for many years and have always provided positive feedback and have referred family and friends over the years. On Feb 23 2023 I was charged twice for services. The service agent had me run my debit card twice stating it didn't go through the first time. This resulted in a double charge of $270 to my checking account. I've spent countless hours and lost work time trying to resolve the matter. The branch manager Jim Frair was aware of the overcharge and assured me it would be taken care of with 24hours. Well it's March 17 and the escalations dept rep Judy Berry claims they don't see the extra charge in their system but as a "service gesture" they'll issue a check for the $270 on or around March 20 nearly a month after the transaction. I asked for some type of accommodation for my lost time and wages and was denied. Terrible customer service for a longtime customer who often responded with high marks in regards to customer service. That being said I will be taking my tax services elsewhere moving forward. read more

Simply fabulous! Vaishnavi at H&R Block is wonderful and took very good care if us FAST! She treats you like a family and is very efficient and smart when it comes to doing your taxes.. moms tax person sat on her taxes for 4 weeks and did nothing so we picked them up and brought them to Vaishnavi and she had them completed and submitted unless then an hour! We will defiantly be using her services again next year and recommend her to anyone looking to get taxes done fast and for a fair fee.. A true gem of a person with a very sweet personality and she truly cares about her clients and her job.. We consider her a friend now and so will you! 6 stars out of 5 in our book! I love H&R ! They make the tax return process so simple. Obviously not as cheap as do it yourself but they're pretty much know what's up with taxes.. so you don't need to worry. Super friendly and patient. Plus they'll check your previous years' return for free. read more

Came here while I was living in San Ramon to get my taxes done. The lady that did my taxes put in the wrong account information. Didn't receive my tax return till the following year!! Wouldn't recommend to anyone lot of people that are seasonal and don't know what they are doing. read more

i called h&r block before go there and told them three w-2 she said it will be $80 each. then went there the lady who was preparing for our tax does not speak english. my son ask question she does not know the answer. she does not know what is roth ira and back door etc. anyways she took 1 hour and said done and charged me $295 when i ask her it suppose to be $80 she start laughing. i dont know what that means? than she said to my son your tax will be next week keep calling no response. finalely she was on email and ask for $295. she also charged my son $295. horrible people no knowledge what they are doing just typing figure in software and does not know what is the meaing of that. first time went to h&r bolck in 40 years no more. even cpa who has all the knowledge of taxes dont charge you $600. never go this place its in newark ca. but look like all the places same. lady tax consultant yan gao. read more

Not a professional service as they advertise. I know a bit about tax return but wanted to do it quickly since I was busy. Went to guy who was pretty much clueless about taxes , so instead helping me , i pretty much help him to file return.In about six month ,accidentally, I checked my return back. It turned out that this guy butchered my tax return, he did not include my two dependents.Filed complain, no answer as promised to respond within one week.Took the matter in my own hands . I went to Dublin H&R. Asian Lady fixed mistakes and re-filled tax with extra credit $2600.What is funny I was charged around $25 extra and had to send amendment by myself. What a joke. Finally today(2013-08-19) H&R representative replayed. He right away assumed that I did submit correct info. while filling original tax return. I told him that I have sheet stamped by tax preparer showing correctly all my dependents. He admitted that if tax was done incorrectly i should not be charged extra. Overall H&R representative handling complaint pretty useless and unhelpful . He did not offer extra charge refund , he did even said I am sorry.
