We also experienced penalties and additional stress due to mistakes that we felt should have been avoided. When we asked for clarification on completed vs. incomplete work and discussed reimbursement for unfinished services, communication largely stopped. We had hoped for a more professional and proactive experience. Unfortunately, we ended up needing to seek help elsewhere to get our records cleaned up and organized.

Further, we went weeks without communication and had to initiate follow-up several times, which is frustrating when turning to human tax professionals for support. Finally, to top off the blatant disregard for customer relationships, we were denied a meeting to discuss our concerns and request for a refund due to all of the challenges and poor services rendered. I'm disappointed in our experience this year and sad to have to take my business elsewhere.

If you've ever worked for yourself, or owned your own business, you know it requires multiple hat-wearing/juggling. The taxes are a HUGE stressor, and frankly I have a terminal "fog" over the details of my returns (certainly not my expertise). After a four-year-long go-around with the IRS as a result of incompetent advice, I recently turned to TaxWise for a "second opinion." After one consultation with Randy at TaxWise, I realized I'd never really gotten my money's worth from the CPAs I had paid in the past. To them I was just another "return" to file by the deadline. During my first visit to TaxWise, Randy actually took the time to ask me about my goals. He actually LISTENED to my answers. He made suggestions that seemed "obvious" once he said them, but no one had ever advised me like that before! He even gave me information to help with my situation. All in a single consultation. TaxWise seems to have a completely different approach to taxes (and business). They actually CARE about the success of my business. I am still in the throes of the IRS drama, but am just now, after working with Randy, mending the damage that was previously done. I wish TaxWise had been in Kansas City when I started out years ago. With the straight-forward advice Randy gave, I would have been way ahead of the game by now! At least I found them now, and will continue to recommend them to any small business owner I meet.

Firstly, it was like yanking teeth to try and get her to respond to emails. Very unprofessional and rude. It took MONTHS to finally get them done and this was after filing an extension so it wasn't even the busy time of year. I asked her SEVERAL TIMES what the cost would be and she NEVER RESPONDED. Stupidly, I thought it would be reasonable and proceeded. My dad does not have a large income and does not have super hard taxes or lots of forms. She charged us SO MUCH MONEY. Way more than I have ever paid and I have way more difficult taxes then my dad does. LASTLY, it turns out that he owed more money then what she said so we were surprised to receive a bill from the IRS almost a year later to pay in addition to what we had already paid via Block. Do not have Judith Burgess do your taxes. She is terrible and we will NEVER use this location of Block again. Truthfully, she should be fired as I have emails reflecting all of these claims.

The office was clean and bright and we got right in. The woman at the front desk was so nice and welcoming, and Judy Burgess, who prepared our taxes, was wonderful to work with- knowledgeable, quick, and pleasant. We will definitely go here again next year.
