I WILL NEVER GO BACK TO H&R BLOCK in Monroe, WA. Had my H&R Block accountant not been so smug while trying to imply that I was at fault, while she simply did not do her homework, I wouldn't press the issue. The fact is, I provided her with all of the info she needed from the get go. I even recall explaining to her that I attended our company's annual Etrade tax meeting to make sure I provided all of the required info. Again, I provided a printout of the G&L sheet originally; Laura just never used it. I had a feeling she didn't know what to do with the G&L sheet when I originally met with her to file my 2016 taxes. You should be able to look up some notes in my account and see that I specifically requested a new accountant to prepare my 2017 taxes, after your office tried to assign Laura to prep my 2017 taxes. I made the request specifically because I had no confidence in Laura's ability to do my taxes correctly. Clearly, my instincts were correct. When I met with her a couple of weeks ago, after she was done trying to explain to me how this was all my fault for not providing a 1009B, we figured out that she had a print out of the G&L sheet all along. I asked her if she cross-referenced this with the rest of the etrade docs that I provided. Her answer was no. I then asked her specifically if she had done that, would she have been able to determine that she needed a 1099B or if that doc would have given her the info she needed. Her answer was "well....maybe". I pressed her on that weak answer and this time she answered "I suppose so". Everyone makes mistakes, and I can accept that. But, when you're clearly at fault and you try to push your blame on me, that really rubs me the wrong way. It's just about the worst thing you can do to keep your customers coming back. It's not really about the (unspecified dollar amount) anyway, it's about the principal of the matter.
