After reading information on their website, we pre-printed the necessary forms and brought in the requested paperwork hoping we could get a walk in. We came in on a weekday afternoon and was welcomed in by Alma. When we came in she was available to take us however they didn't have enough "tables" to take us in so we had to schedule an appointment in which they were readily available and open a month before taxes were due. Since we already looked online for the appropriate forms and documents, Alma treated our paperwork as a drop off and was able to take everything for us right there and then. I did ask her if we could keep our originals of our IDs, SSN cards, and birth certificates since it was our first time filing there and she was able to do it on the spot. Also she checked and verified that we had everything needed for filing purposes and to assist us getting the best return possible and she guided us for additional paperwork we didn't even think of including! She was very tentative to our questions as we were first time co home owners and also not yet married so we were concerned how it would affect our individual returns but she was so courteous and helpful with all of the answers she provided to us. By the time it was for our appointment, she had a cancelation prior to ours and offered for us to come earlier if we wanted to. She also had already inputting our numbers and did a "pre crunch" on the different types of filing on which would best benefit us as a whole for which the house should go under. Long story short, her numbers matched spot on and we went with our best choice of filing and got the most we've ever receieved on a return so far. We were there for only 30 minutes, signed the official documents and we were good to go! Going forward Alma will definitely be out tax person. We also both received our tax return via direct deposit for both federal and state within 2.5 weeks of filing with no issues.

So around 7 years ago on the recommendation of a friend, we started having our taxes prepared by Lisa and have always been very happy with her knowledge and professionalism on all things tax related. There were even some exemptions that she informed us about that we didn't know we could claim that helped us maximize our returns than if we were doing our own filing. Over the last few years, it's become just my return that needs to be prepared and they're a little less complicated but I still have Lisa prepare them. I have the utmost confidence in her and have no doubt her fees are worth every penny...not to mention it saves me many hours of hair pulling that I would probably be doing otherwise if I were trying to do them on my own.

Then we moved states and one of us kept Hawaii residency while the other changed residency and worked in Maryland full time while also working with the Maine Air National Guard. Yup, that's at least three state taxes minimum - four if we changed jobs in different states mid-year - along with federal annually. Add moves to Alabama, Massachusetts, and Virginia in there and we fully expected them to dump us as clients one day. Nope. If they didn't know they found out. They were always quick to respond and professional but friendly. We usually do everything over email. I finally got to meet Jodi today and it was a great experience!
