I've had H&R Block do my taxes for a number of years. Since I move around with work I've been to a few locations. Mr. Wilkinson helped me today and he was great. 3 states in one year is a lot to sift through. He was thorough and kind. I usually have a good experience when they do my paperwork but my only issue is how expensive they are! I think this will be my last time going to H&R Block because if you're a repeat customer they should give a small discount... I tried to use the $25 coupon and it's for new clients only yet they send you a ton of emails. Take care of your customers that give you repeat business and they will come back. Common sense right? I paid $368 with them to file and last year wasn't better... at the very least give SOME discount as a kind gesture. Customer service seems to be a dying art form... GEEZ! read more

Let me start by being fair, I had a horrible experience. I do know some friends who have good experiences with H&R Block in general. That's why I ended up going there. I have multiple forms that i could handle, but the only reason I went there was to incorporate a loss of income type form into my taxes. I have three family members that use this to lower their taxes from an inheritance. I dealt with Michael Wilkinson. A nice gentleman and when I explained my situation and the reason I am there he took the form, seemed to understand what I was having trouble with. This experience was very expensive, but I thought it was worth it to make sure I am getting the forms in that lower my taxes. So I go on my merry way thankful for the help. The next day I receive a phone call that there was a problem and the form I had given him was not correct and that I need to resign all my paperwork and now instead of getting a tax refund, I now owe taxes to federal and state. I want to be clear that I have three family members that use the exact same tax document and gives them a hefty break, but for some reason I can not according to the tax prep helper. So I wasted a few hundred dollars going to someone who said I had everything needed, but then after I paid, all the sudden they were not correct. What makes this even better is the I just received an IRS letter stating that I owe more money because there were mistakes in my tax filing. Again I would like to point out that I am sure my experience could be rare, but I will never let this company get anywhere near any of my tax forms ever again, and I would advise you do not use Michael Wilkinson. I began my tax experience with Leslie Arney. Dear God, avoid this woman at all costs. She didn't know the first thing about preparing taxes. After sitting an hour with her, she had some kind of software malfunction during our tax preparation and told us to come back a second time because she would have to call technical support. She seemed pretty adamant that we schedule our second appointment with her. When we rescheduled, we made sure to schedule with a different tax preparer. The second time around (1 week later), we scheduled with Julie Crist. Her knowledge of tax preparation was a breath of fresh air! She was so knowledgeable and, in the end, saved us $400.00 in deductions that Leslie has missed. I wholeheartedly recommend Julie Crist as a tax preparer. read more
