I must say, I forgot how amazing H&M is. Doing some last minute Christmas shopping, my bestfriend and I ended up at H&M and somehow I ended up shopping for myself. Now, it wasn't my plan to shop for me, however, the selection, the sales, the way the clothes were calling my name... I had no choice but to shop. H&M provided an abundance of value for some very in-season fashion trends. There was no way I could pass this by. After I walked the entire mens section, I had to walk it again just to make sure I didn't miss anything. After my second walk through, I was satisfied and headed to the register. Be prepared to WORK at this location. You have to check yourself out!! I'm talking scanning your own items, removing the sensors, AND bagging everything yourself. I just left $100s worth of clothes and accessories because after an hour of shopping and trying on clothes for my new job (yay! ), I simply did not have the energy or mental capacity to then work the register too. I asked a sales associate if she could check me out. She said she could help me, but she couldn't actually do it for me. So I left everything and walked out. On my way out, I asked a manager if that was really their protocol, and she confirmed that it was. I think that's absolutely ridiculous. I went to Atlantic station H&M specifically for jeans. I had been looking online which prompted me to go in store. I'm writing this review based on poor customer service with two employees. I asked Employee #1 if they sold sizes above 12 in store or online only. She was continually walking and I had to restate my question twice to get her focus. When I got it she then says she doesn't know, I told her i didn't see any sizes past 12 so far so again wanted to know if larger sizes were online only. She said again that she did not know. And walked away. As she walked away, I asked her if she knew anyone else in store that I can ask such as a mgr , she said no then she told me I could try calling into the store which was completely dumb to me. Why would I call into the store when I'm in the store? I realize that I just did not have this young woman's focus. she also misinformed me as She told me all the jeans are in this specific section. On my own, I realized jeans were scattered throughout the entire store. But once again, I chopped it up as I just did not have her attention. After shopping around the store and trying on my items, I realized another employee was starting to block off a portion of the dressing room around. I asked this employee what time they close. She said she did not know. That's crazy to me to work somewhere and not know what time they close so you can tell your customers. This H&M is okay. There are two levels. Bottom level is all women's clothing, and second level is kids' and men's clothing. It's very hit or miss in this store. You don't really go here looking for anything, you kind of just go, and if you see something you like, then you get it. Almost every single time I have gone, they are never checking anyone out upstairs, you have to go downstairs. When I have had to make returns, I always get hit with a "Our machines can't process returns right now," which is quite frustrating. The staff here aren't too friendly either. They are always giving off an attitude of "Can't wait to clock-out of here." I don't go here too often anymore, just very sparingly. read more

Today about 6 PM. I tried to return an item that I purchased four days ago for $29.99. The cashier was not able to do it. The item kept coming up $14.99. she tried it but was not able to on giving me back my 29.99. I told her I would like to speak to the manager. She called him to the front desk. His name was kyle I told him what my problem was. He tried to read it up and said I'm only gonna be able to give you back the 14.99I told him why was that he tried to tell me that was the rule on the back of the receipt, I told him to show it to me. we are going back-and-forth. He told me I needed to contact customer service to get my full refund back. I did so spoke to they couldn't get him on the phone. I hung up got another customer service. She got him on the phone. They went back-and-forth. She told him that that was incorrect and that I needed to get back my full. I did not want to go back in the store because it was very unprofessional and I did not want to have any more confrontations with someone that doesn't know how to speak to people nor do they know how to use their registers going forward I think you should make sure that all management know how to. I had to pick up some extra clothing since my visit got extended. One of the better younger staff I've had the pleasure interacting with. The floor Associates were so helpful & the register staff was just as if not even friendlier. The store was in top shape, both cleaned & organized, making it simple to peruse. This may sound odd, yet the environment smelled fresh & not dirty or musty as some retail stores. Although most of my visits are for shopping for the family, I did sign up for their Rewards Program the Cashier Associate offered me. Gained popularity because any dead or dying mall it touches, it usually comes back to life. If probably the new main draw in the new fashion obsessed youngers. From your basic pieces, prints, jeans, khakis, slacks, shoes and fashion jewelry. It's a pretty good place to find all that stuff. Yes, their pieces are usually the pieces that you see in GQ and Vanity Fair. This store is actually pretty nice. It's very spacious and there are two floors. One gigantic space for the women of course and upstairs is the mens section,,, shares the same floor with the kids. You know,,, men don't have as much selection pieces as women. Really a just an awkward experience . Employee at noon in red button down was so stubborn. The type of Boy Scout nerd to give you weak scoops at chipotle like he owns the place and is saving himself money. The type of dude to ask the teacher if we have homework. I tried to return some pants that didn't fit but he wouldn't let me . He insisted that I wore them. He said I couldn't return them in this condition, but he can sell them to me in this condition? We get there at 11:20 and they say they decided to open at noon instead and just left us waiting in the rain. H&M has very affordable and stylish clothing at extremely reasonable prices. However, with that also comes lack of cashiers at this location. I have been to this location a few times, but I will probably stick with the Mall of Georgia location. The H&M Atlantic Station never has enough cashiers on hand. We stopped here Saturday around noon and the store was packed, yet they only had the downstairs register opened and had just two cashiers. I waited 17 minutes in line to buy a pair socks for my son. We original stopped here trying to find some shoes for my younger son, unfortunately they were not wide enough. However, the lady upstairs by the children's department was very friendly and helpful. Who shops here? Well that could be answered of course by the 20 people in line in front of me and my daughter Im sure...but really....who shops here? Im just not that impressed...two levels of nothingness IMO. At least once a week, my daughter is like oooooo....lets go to H&M...and Im like call me when you are ready to leave...Im going over to Dillards....which by the way is directly across from H&M. When I first heard this store was coming to Atlanta, I was semi-excited, because I'd visited the NYC location before and found some goodies...but not so much here at this Atlantic Station location. Even if I find something that I think I might like to go with something I already have...most times those 20 people watiting to be rung up by two cashiers when there are six other register not be utilized just kinda makes me mad, and I lay the item down..and cross the street to Dillards or Banana Republic and find something much better and the wait time is no where near what it is at H&M. Sometimes when I see the clothes on billboards and in catalogues, I think....oh...thats cute...but when I finally get to H&M....Im like....ewwww...it looks so cheap. I;ve seen on some of the clothing missed stitching, pulled threads and fabic pieces that are the same piece of clothing but somehow must have come from different dye lots. However, this store loses points because the music is insanely loud, the racks are disorganized (clothes are just laying everywhere), and it's hard to get around the store. H&M sells trendy and stylish apparel that is affordable and inexpensive. As others have mentioned, the clothing is of cheap quality. This brand is generally too hip and trendy for me, but I ran into a deal here which I could not pass up. All men's peacoats were on sale for 50% off while supplies lasted. H&M's peacoats are regularly priced at $99.00, which is already a good deal. Peacoats at other retailers easily run $200 to $300+, but I only paid $49.50 for my peacoat. I usually like to buy nicer quality clothes -- not high-end stuff, but nice clothes that are made from high quality materials and last a long time (e.g. Brooks Brothers). With clothes, you get what you pay for. The peacoat was inexpensive, but it doesn't look cheap. It looks like almost any other peacoat. The H&M peacoat has 4 pockets on the outside (2 are used as hand-warmers) and 2 pockets on the inside. It fits me well, for the most part. My only complaints are that it's a little tight in the shoulder/armpit area and the coat picks up lint easily. Other than those issues, the peacoat is of respectable quality, especially for the price paid. There's polyester lining on the inside. A big part of the reason why the jacket was so cheap is because it's made of 60% recycled wool, 30% polyester, and 10% "other fibers." I checked out the peacoat at Brooks Brothers at Lenox Square ($700) and I could definitely feel a difference in the materials, but the look was not significantly different. Certainly not $600-650 different. The nicer peacoats do feel a lot softer and I'm willing to bet they keep you warmer too. As far as the jacket attracting lint, I'm not sure if that is a normal thing. I have a topcoat/overcoat from Banana Republic that is made out of wool and it does not pick up hair and lint like my H&M peacoat does. The H&M peacoat should come with a lint roller. The Banana Republic coat also feels a lot softer and almost velvety at times. Regardless, I have been pleased with my peacoat from H&M. This particular H&M store location in Atlantic Station is very popular. It's two stories and has expanded from its original space. I think H&M was a great addition to Atlantic Station. However, it's an absolute zoo in here. Many times, clothes are strewn all over the place, including the floor. Despite checkout registers on both floors, long lines are the norm. Even the "Have a nice day" I received as I left seemed too forced and had no energy. Anyway... This location has two levels with the main entrance area (level 1) being dedicated to the ladies' apparel. The store was pretty well organized. Even though some areas were overcrowded/jammed pack with clothes & accessories, overall, the store was neat and orderly. This was a good store by location, my first trip to Atlantic station, but do have to give points for price points on items- very competitive and big selection for the right people. Seems to have more items for the more fortunate of fit people, lots of slim shirts, pants- where I need a bit more meat to the bones My daughter was able to find a cute jacket in her size quick, she's tiny, and was excited for her. Virtually no staff to call on you and the check out was a bit long and "uncomfortable" - an almost closed line effect leading to the registers. This is H&M if you know them, shop around and sure you'll find what you want from the plethora of stock. Lots and lots- sometimes of the same thing in one pile- but if its what you want- good for you. While my most recent trip to H&M netted me some awesome fall pieces for not a whole lot of cash (including one particular dress for FIVE DOLLARS), I still left the place annoyed. During my few laps around the store, I stepped over at least 12 items that were strewn on the floor, untangled just as many hangers from delicate dresses, and altogether gave up on dealing with the fitting rooms. They had one cash register open while the queue was at least 5 customers deep. There were, of course, plenty of staffers scurrying about but they seemed to be focused on loading more merchandise on to the already overloaded racks rather than making the place look somewhat presentable. My first impression was WTF? I mean, I have been to H&M in numerous states and a few other countries, and I have never walked out empty handed. So why have I been to our new H&M twice and found nothing? Are they sending us the castoffs that other posh places wouldn't want? I want the edgy, NY/Paris/London clothes I have grown to love when visiting those places. Today I went so frog and I could find him something cool and cheap to wear to my cousin's wedding in Minnesota. They had NOTHING for guys. And like everyone else, I am wondering why the kid's section is so big (and silent since no one is even in there, employees or customers.) We found a pair of pants he liked, but there were only 3 pairs out, all the same big size. So I walked up to an intimidating group of employees who were gossiping to ask if they had more sizes in the back. The main girl (who is talking about some dude she likes) looks at me then continues her rant on her love for this dude, and when she is finally done looks at me and says, "did you want something?" UHH YEAH. I don't usually stand and stare at an employee of a store while holding a pair of men's slacks for no reason. There were maybe 50 employees today and 30 customers so I was really confused when I sat in line with 12-18 other people while I scanned the store and saw employees all over pretending to fold clothes. The weirdest part is that the only employee at the bank of registers wasn't calling anyone on the walkie to help her. She just slowly folded every item she was ringing up and didn't even seem panicked to get help when the line began to snake around the store. If I didn't need to get a gift card for my sister's birthday I would have left. When I finally got to the register I asked for a gift card and already had my Amex out. The employee said, "Oh, we don't take American Express. Sorry, bye!" BYE? Okay are you seriously dismissing me before I can whip out an alternate card? I did not wait in line for 20 minutes to be booted so easily. I told her I would use my Visa, tyvm. So, compared to every other H&M I have been to all over the world, this one has: 1. crappy service 2. poor choice in clothing (men and women) 3. not enough stock (just large sizes left in men's clothes) 4. crappy service. Hell is a place on earth. Its called H & M. Its where fashion is kidnapped, tortured and left to die. Its about as pleasurable shopping here as it is visiting the southeast asian sweat shops where these clothes are manufactured. Went to spend a $100 Gift Card from a client here. Had to wait in line to use a dressing room. (another aisle of dressing rooms completely unused, mind you). After waiting in line was told 7 items only. I decided to try on the shirts in front of a store mirror instead after trying on pants in the "dressing room." (note you have to return the clothes you try on back on the hanger or else!) An employee told me they needed to clean that area and I had to move. I dropped my clothes on the floor and said "here clean this up." I went downstairs to ring out what I had. Another line. 15 minutes this time. They ran out of bags so I had to carry what I had out in my hand. I gave the remaining amount on GC to the person in-line behind me. Clothes! Costumes! Loud music! Accessories! Baby Clothes! CHAOS! RUN! AHHH! That's the general vibe of H&M -- Like a nightclub with too many racks of clothes in the way for you to test out your best dance moves. We came in on a Sunday afternoon to look for some new clothes for my wife and she happened to find what she was looking for.... and there was much rejoicing throughout the land. The best part of this location is their baby section! Goodness they have a great selection of just about everything cool and everything totally uncool for babies. Luckily, the "cool" section was really awesome and we picked up some great booties, a few onsies, and a gnarly little pair of shoes for our baby boy. The best part of the baby section is that most of the newborn items come in packs of two or three and the prices match that of a single item. Pretty awesome. For the prices for some of the clothes here, I'm sure it is worth the trip. Is it worth the craziness and mobbed atmosphere? ....Maybe? I can say we will be back for baby clothes for sure. read more

I hit H&M today on the 2nd day open at Atlantic Station, which could have been a stupid idea, but it actually wasn't too busy when I was there. Unbelievably, I didn't buy anything (I did see some items that I want though). I love H&M but now that they are in Atlanta, I don't think I'll be shopping there as much. It was always so much fun to travel to other cities, including foreign cities, and shop at H&M and then bring your finds back to Atlanta and have everyone ask "Where did you get that?". Now, everyone will have that great find AND they'll realize how cheap it is. I do love H&M for my business clothes since I HATE spending money on stupid work clothes so I know I'll be shopping there for those items. The Atlantic Station store is 2 floors (women downstairs and men, children and more women upstairs). They have different departments (LOGG, H&M, Divided, etc) and the departments do not mingle. The store is set up pretty well but I wish it was bigger. For a flag ship store, they should have more space. Since there are so many racks of clothes, it makes it a tight fit when trying to navigate the store with a bunch of people trying to do the same thing. Also, they should have more dressing rooms. I think there are only 20 so the lines tend to be long and some people have resorted to trying on clothes on the sales floor (no comment). There are some basic things people who have never shopped at H&M should know. First, bring several sizes with you to the dressing room. Their clothes all kind of fit differently so you need to be prepared. While the floor staff will go get you that item that doesn't fit in another size, it's a pain in the butt for them and I think it's kind of rude especially considering the amount of items they have in that store. Second, this store has a ton of stock so if you don't see your size on the rack, ask a sales person if they can check the stock room -- odds are that they have it in the back in your size or if they don't, it will come in on the next truck. Finally, since everything is so cheap, you don't have to worry about spending all of your money in one place. Have fun shopping! read more

Since the initial sparkle has worn off, I can now evaluate H&M on an appropriate scale, instead of the "it's only available elsewhere and that makes it so much more special" scale. This H&M is always busy. There's always a line 18 deep for the downstairs dressing rooms. Even if everything I've found to try was on the first floor, I'll head upstairs to the dressing rooms there since the line is usually half as long upstairs. The staff here is cold and indifferent. They're not rude, but they're cooler than you, and consequently, not really friendly or helpful. Some are more efficient than others, but don't expect great service. And one pet peeve of mine is that I often have trouble finding the clothes on the mannequins. I'll see something that I like, and then have to go hunting to find it, since the mannequin displaying it will be in a different section. Atlantic Station is pretty tragic to begin with, and the 'hollas' and 'don't I know you from somewhere?' antics, when I'm just trying to buy a shift dress so that I don't have to wear my tired old plaid shirt everywhere I go has got to stop! I'm so confused. I am a HUGE H&M fan. Tons of affordable, fun clothes and accessories. The quality isn't superb, but at these prices they're great for short-term fun. Ok, so I give a 2 Star! I just don't see what everyone sees in the place. People were soooooo excited when It finally came to Atlanta, that I got excited (psssssst, not even knowing what it was, lol). So, it opened and the 1st month, lines were around the corner. It looked as if they were giving away free $$$ the way people was packed in and how they had security at the exit doors LOL. My friend didn't want to wait in line, so we convinced the guard at the exit door to let us in. WHICH, I'm glad we did. When I 1st walked in some things definitely caught my eye. But after the progression to the rest of the store. It was a lost hope LOL. I just didn't understand the extreme excitement. I guess I'm ultimately giving it a 2 star because I was expecting fireworks! :( Maybe the other locations are better then the one in ATLANTIC STATION! read more
