I really love the food here. It's always good. However, there is a serious language barrier problem every single time. They don't seem to understand anything you say. It's been so bad that I just had to leave because after 20 minutes of try to get food since I clearly wasn't going to get what I wanted. (they just kept making whatever they chose and either wouldn't listen when I said no or would get mad at me bc they had to make it over) It would be extremely beneficial to have someone working there who can speak and understand English much better. I wish we could eat here more often but it's just too stressful to bother anymore. I've never seen anyone work else other than the same 4 guys there who could so I don't know if they refuse to hire new people or just want their own in there. Sad really because I could eat there every week if I could get what I wanted and not have to repeat things 20 times and still not get it. Someone else mentioned the bugs, yes. They are flying all over too. It's really not that hard to deal with flies/fruit flies if things are clean and you have traps. I hope they make some changes so we can return but until then I have to go down the street to get my gyro fix. read more

This place was so good! Our whole family loved everything we got. The service was awesome as well. The only thing I wish they had was a kids menu, but our kids were very happy to get gyro fries and quesadillas so it wasn't a big deal. So, the Gyro stop opened up awhile ago, and I've been waiting to try it out. I stopped in last night to grab a couple of gyros since my son has never had the pleasure of trying one. I walked in and the guy working the counter greeted me with not a ton of energy. Now I understand it was the end of his shift, but when a customer comes in regardless of what time it is, he needs to be a little more upbeat. Now for the Gyro, as he was preparing them, I noticed the lettuce was noticably brown. (I wouldn't of served it) I got them home and they were delicious despite the questionable lettuce. 3 stars for brown lettuce and lack of personality from the guy working the counter. First let me say that the Greek fries with garlic sauce and feta are to die for, however, the other day I ordered the chicken shawarma and was surprised to receive something that barely resembled chicken. It's ground SOMETHING with barely enough chicken mixed in to make it BARELY taste like chicken. I'll never order that again. It's more than likely something like satan or some other grain but I was not happy at all. Yes, I'll definitely go back for the Greek fries because you just can't fake that, but I refuse to spend my hard earned money on fake food. The people seem pretty nice there. Definitely need to work on food handling policies. Guy working the counter reeked of cigarette smoke, enough where I almost didn't order, but my husband really wanted a gyro. I paid then went next door to get a sandwich for myself and kids. While I was gone, my daughter who was waiting said that after I left the cashier was then helping wrapping my husbands food without washing his hands and im not just saying he put it in a bag, talking rolling up the gyro. disgusting. I live close by and enjoy good Greek food - due to the Covid issue, I'm not able to go in and sit down to eat but, then, they really have limited room for a sit-down meal, anyway - that said, the food is excellent - I've had Gyros and Gyro salads and, recently, I took a chance and tried their Chicken Shawarma Plate - it was every bit as good as the Beef Gyro Salad - I've tried their Baklava and, while it's not as moist as what I had in Athens, it passed my taste test - each time the food was well prepared and delicious - the guys are warm and friendly - I just printed off their menu so I can go back and sample some of the other food options - I'm sure glad they opened in Arlington read more

I first stopped by here a few weeks ago based on a bunch of possitve reviews I saw on a Facebook group page. Ordered the chicken shwarma wrap and was blown away with how good it was. It's really disappointing when you remind the clerk several times that you want chicken not gyro meat and they still give you the wrong thing only to find out once you get it home. It could be a language barrier or they just don't care what you want but the sals is basically tomatoes and they can't for the life of them get the order right. Stopped in for the first time today and after my wonderful experience it will definitely be a regular spot from now on!! I've had many gyros in my day and even make my own from scratch on occasion and the one I had today was one of the best! The young lady working the front was friendly, helpful, and paid attention to detail when preparing my beef and lamb gyro wrap. I especially love the fact that they pre-dice the tomato, cucumber, and onion and mix it with herbs instead of throwing huge chunks of veggies on top like most places. There are very few options for Greek food in Arlington. So when Gyro Stop opened I was thrilled and quickly added it to my noon-time rotation. As a gluten, and soy intolerant diner it's really hard to find fast food that I can eat. I was hopeful. First visit, the guy making up the food got bent out of shape when I asked for no feta. The portions were large and I had no complaint except he'd doused my salad with cheese. Second time, different server who was chatty and berating her co-worker but inattentive to detail. Same request for no feta. Ignored. Third time. Someone was huffy. I usually order the plate which comes with rice and salad. Made a point of draining off all the sauce from the shwarma. It was terribly dry. No pickle, no pepperoncini. No salad dressing. Fourth time, made a point of taking away food that was served. No dressing on salad. No pickle. In short, Gyro Stop could have made a great impression, but it is inconsistent. You might get lucky. You might not. But as I said, there aren't any other options besides sandwiches and Chinese. Maybe the owner will read this and get their staff trained. read more

The chicken was very good at other places around here the chicken is always over cooked but that's not the case here, it's very well seasoned and cooked perfectly. Seriously, I don't know how people are justifying giving this place good reviews. The one star is only because the food was good. I'm surprised they are not actually bankrupt already due to the service. We stopped in last night, having never been there, but as lovers of Greek food. Upon walking in, there were two men working there, and neither of them smiled, said hi, or had any other kind of welcoming greeting, only "what can I get you"? Upon stating this was our first time there, silence was what came next-no "well glad you are here, have you had Greek food before?, what questions can I answer"? etc. My husband was going to order the Souvlaki (grilled chicken kebabs) of which one of them said "we don't have them", and when my husband repeated, but in the form of a question, "you don't have them?", the answer was just a no, not I'm sorry, or any reason why, although my guess would be with our experience with these two so far, they were probably just too lazy to turn on the grill and actually cook (why would you be out of something on a Friday night?). We actually considering leaving at this point, but did really want to try the food, so we ordered and sat at one of the tables to dine in. We were the only ones in there at 5:00 on a Friday night, and were still the only ones eating there when we left. The two employees disappeared into the back room, never coming out to ask about our food-"I know this is your first time here-what do you think? how is your food?" A lady came in to place a to go order, also struggling with what to order, saying it was her first time there-again, she was also met with silence, while they just waited for her to order-she ordered and left, and neither one of them offered a "I know it was your first time here, I hope you enjoy our food and come see us again". We decided (don't really know why) to order a Baklava to split and I literally had to say "excuse me" to the two as they were in the back room, sitting and "playing" on their phones-they actually looked perturbed I interrupted them. When we left, of course nothing was said, let alone something along the lines of-"thank you for coming", "please come see us again"...We were needless to say beyond disappointed, as we had high hopes we had found a new, yummy place to eat in our neighborhood, but no matter how good the food is, we simply cannot get past this horrible service. read more
