Review #1,045 Posted on 4.26.26…read more We stopped in here to grab a few items when in town in the PR for my buddies 50th birthday. This spot is right on the corner of an intersection near the church & tour guide map in downtown Old San Juan. They've got a big chair with the country flag painted on it that all tourists stop to take a photo sitting in. They've also got all kinds of souvenirs, magnets, stickers, trinkets, even drink cousies where they'll give you a beer if you buy one. Stop in here and grab some things while in area.

As I walked further into the store I say a whole wall full of colorful bucket hats. There was a big display of belts and other closing too and this place even sells dress up jewelry. The place was obviously brand new and there were two employees that had somewhat greeted us... Hey no harm done. Perhaps there was a language barrier? ....lol. Nonetheless, not an issue for us as I guess they assumed we spent all of our money in Montblanc and had none left for their store... Hehehe or perhaps all of our money on my Goyard bag that I was carrying ;) Side note: I hate to sound snooty and by all means I'm no where near that. I was looking to see IF they had anything different from our much larger Gucci store at home. Didn't buy any because I had just spent a good penny at home during their sale. (3 mule sandals and a pair boots) and nothing really stood out for me to even have it shipped back home. Ummm did happen to see clutch that was very nice on the way out. But perhaps next time....

I forgot a few things while I was on my vacation so I came here. Check-out was friendly and efficient. Next time I travel here, I may not pack as much. I'll just shop here and get a few items. They offer a lot more clothes catering to a tropical, warmer climate. Prices were identical to prices back home at the Marshalls in Virginia where shop from time to time.

I got my boyfriend's sister a cute halter top from the awesome sale section at the front of the store and scored myself some cute and super cheap earrings. The sales associate was warm and friendly and noticed bf's Cuban accent immediately. She asked us about our backgrounds (it is weird to some people to see an Asian girl speaking Spanish in a Cuban accent). When I go back to Puerto Rico, I hope I have time to stop by this shop to bring home some awesome clothes.

Someone in my party wanted to check it out so we went in and my initial thought was, "omg everything in here is beige. ughhhhh" but once I started looking around I saw some great finds at very reasonable prices hidden amongst the beige! I purchased a shorts-romper and a pants-romper (not sure what else to call these things lol). Most of their clothes are either casual or suitable for a semi-casual night out and the clothing quality is evident. Prices range from $22 - $70. Sizes range from Extra Small to Extra Large. The store is very clean and neat. Selection is limited but the online site has hundreds more cute items. Aside from the clothing, I am happy to support this business because the owners are two PR ladies who went to the US for college then came back to help contribute to their community! The company doesn't just 'talk the talk', they actually make a difference. They are committed to sustainability, have a 95% female management team, and support many local charities including helping younger children build gardens at their schools, installing water purification systems in secondary schools and providing funding to send local PR children to college. It feels good to support businesses like this. Check them out in Miami and PR or go online for the greatest selection!

@ Ashford Ave Location:…read more Unfortunately I was followed by the young sales associate in the store from the moment I walked in to the moment I checked out. At first I wanted to believe that I was getting superior customer service until I noticed that no one else was getting that kind of 'extra attention'. From closely monitoring every step I took, not wanting me to hold garments as I shopped for more than a minute, and quickly whisking them away to either the fitting room or behind the counter, the heavy-handed attentiveness was a bit of a let down and created some discomfort. As someone who is new to this retailer and gets excited about trying on unique pieces that I don't believe I could find elsewhere, it's just frustrating to think that someone would look at me and immediately think I want to steal. I ended up purchasing a cute outfit because I couldn't make up my mind about what was happening in the moment and also there was a part of me that felt like if I was right about what I was witnessing, then I could use this as a teachable moment because stealing isn't a racial problem, it's a character problem. All that said, I am debating whether I will return as a customer. There isn't a Valija in my hometown so I'd be shopping online, but I'd be lying if I said this initial experience in the store didn't leave a negative impression on me. Too bad.
