The staff was super friendly and helpful. Lots of wiccan and/or pagan religion materials, charms, books and charms. Not our cup of tea, but there if that's your sort of thing. Definitely not upscale jewelry, more of what most would consider costume jewelry. There are a few nicer things there, like Larimar, from the Dominican Republic, which can be found everywhere in the Caribbean. An interesting place to browse for a few minutes, not someplace you should go out of your way to visit IMHO.

Went 2 days in a row, on the second day and left with an unpleasant taste after the 2nd visit. The shop attendant saw the headband bought the day before on my partner's head and we were back to get 2 more, and accused them passively aggressively of stealing. Instead of the 2 items presented, they asked so 3? No, 2! Sigh.

This place takes the whole souvenir game seriously. At 7ven Seas, everything is made in Puerto Rico. Instead, you'll stumble upon legit art, hand-painted canvases, soulful sketches, statement jewelry and mixed media pieces all created by Puerto Rican artists who actually live and breathe the culture. Imagine that. Hubs and I actually picked up some framed 5x7 and 8x10 Puerto Rican paintings to bring to family and my daughter. We also bought other items for coworkers and things. 7ven Seas Jewelry is more like a boutique-meets-gallery situation, where every item has a meaning. Basically, it's for people who'd rather bring home something beautiful and meaningful, instead of adding to their growing collection of sad fridge magnets. So if you want a souvenir that doesn't suck, 7ven Seas Jewelry has you covered. Service was wonderful and for purchases over $150, I got pearl button earrings.

I was a little surprised at how sort of beat up the place was. Carpets were very dirty. The restaurant is sort of in a strip mall right on Ridge Avenue. The host/waiter was very nice. Parking was really rough if you come at a crowded time. But I was told on the weekends after the bank closes next-door you can park there. I had the tandoori chicken which was cut into smaller pieces and again very bland. My friends took advantage of the samosas, the saag, the chicken tikka, and the rices. All of the accompaniments were provided as well. I especially liked the naan-bread and the raita. The rice was cooked perfectly and really enjoyed it. The buffet also included desserts. The host was very generous and letting us stay well beyond the midday closing. I was not permitted to use my entertainment discount because the buffet was already a discount.

There were a lot of souvenir stores around but I was looking for something authentic done by local artists. At first you wouldn't think that the Haitian Gallery would be a place to find Puerto Rico art but it is. It actually has a spectacular collection of different things that aren't just tacky souvenirs. When you first walk in, you'll see all your little souvenir knick knacks. They have key chains and magnets for those looking for something to bring back with them. As you walk further back, you'll see the painted art on the walls and the veijigantes (Puerto Rican masks) that artists have put together. You'll see a lot of these around, but the ones here are true works of art. They have beautiful detail and are sturdy meant to be included in an art collection. They are pricey but well worth it. They will be the center piece of your house. On the second floor, you'll find a lot of Haitian paintings by Haitian artists. Many of them modern but some were very traditional. I got the impression that a lot of people skipped this floor. Although I'm not an expert in art, I am confident that there are spectacular pieces here that could sell for a pretty penny but are overlooked. They will offer to send you your items if you buy something large or difficult to take back but they will also offer to pack something tight and break proof if you decide to hand carry. You can pay in cash or credit card. You can also talk to them about reducing your price if you bought something pricey or you bought a lot of things. Love this store and personally think it's the best place to get quality local goods.
