It feels more like a walk-in freezer than a workout environment. It's impossible to break a sweat, warm up your muscles, or get a good workout when you're shivering the whole time. Great location with all the amenities you'd need in a gym. Full cardio, machines, and free weights. They additionally have an outdoor "exercise yard" with various pieces of equipment including large tractor tires and sledgehammers. They are open 24x7 so there's no excuses for missing a workout. There are also a number of classes available including cardio programs and early morning weight-based programs with a variety of stations similar to other popular programs. It has a low-key atmosphere and people are friendly. What I like most is I never feel constrained by lack of equipment or options that would prevent me from accomplishing my goals. In this way I feel it's a step above other local places and I can't ever complain about the rates for what is offered.

Advertise month-to-month membership but charge extra month. I tried to renew membership temporary for a summer (moving to Illinois) but they tried to charge all the extra months between now and time I canceled membership. Unbelievable. One of the worst experiences in the gym world. The best idea? To buy a treadmill at home and attend Pilates or Yoga elsewhere.

The facility at Be is great and the staff is fantastic. I've done two stints here over the years…read moreand Be is the nicest place in lake country if you don't mind the lack of a pool. That said, the problem with working out here is largely the clientele. Every gym has the imbecilic guys in the weight room who think that grunting and dropping heavy weights onto the floor somehow improves muscle tone--but Be also has a large contingent of local high school kids whose presence crowds the very small weight area to the point of making it unusable for long periods of time. Pros: -Be is always clean -The equipment is generally in good working order -The staff is courteous, professional, and knowledgeable -The basic membership is under $50/month Cons: -The lower rates have attracted "less than desirable" clientele -Large portions of the upstairs are underutilized, while the small weight room is jam-packed -The locker room is tiny -The parking lot is shared with the Delafield Hotel, Andrew's Restaurant, and a dance school--the soccer moms who pick up their daughters from dance class park willy-nilly, many of them are rude, obnoxious, and impervious when it comes to parking etiquette

The model is simple - come in for a 30 or 45 min class, of different formats, feel stronger, rinse and repeat. Never any shame in taking a different course - they'll keep riding until you're ready to join back in. Either way, you'll earn your Starbucks run or merch purchase after the ride. The facility is clean, the studio is well kept, and the bathrooms and showers are fully stocked. I was blown away by this location and the experience my mom and I had! The facilities/waiting area outside the studio are incredible. The shower/locker/lounge area is MASSIVE. The showers and sinks and bathrooms are also extremely clean and well stocked with hair tools and other things that you would need to freshen up after a workout. We did a ritual yin class on Sunday morning and we had a great experience. The hands on assists weren't rushed and helped to loosen my muscles before and after the yoga (sometimes the ones I've gotten in Chicago are quick since the classes are usually packed). The yin class itself was fine - I wish there had been more challenging poses like pigeon to help open up our hips, but overall it was a relaxing class I'd definitely recommend it after a harder work out or a long week.
