This gym has become hands down one of my favorite places. I've never looked forward to going to the gym until I became a member here. Not much more expensive than the last place I was a member at, the facilities at GymIt are a thousand times better! The place is super clean, so I'm never afraid to take a shower here. The staff is so, so friendly! A couple of the ladies recognized me as a regular only a couple weeks after I started going and I always ask how I am. So sweet! They offer one complimentary personal training session to each member, which is great for newbies or even those who are looking to get the most out of their work out. They have a massive amount of cardio equipment, so I've never seen people wait for longer than a couple minutes for a machine. The gist: This place is no frills. You've got what I am assuming is a decent free weights area, a huge cardio area, circuit training area, and a good selection of equipment for toning those muscles (love!). The facilities are nice spa-level clean, the staff are cool people, and it is open late. All that for $19 a month with no commitment. Verdict? Look no further. GymIt is love. read more

When my membership to BU FitRec expired (due to graduation), I decided to head to Gym It to see what all those MBTA ads were talking about. For $20/month, this gym is AWESOME. There are tons of cardio machines and no matter what time of day I go, there are always free machines. They have a whole wall of flat screen TVs and there is always something good to watch when I'm rocking out on the elliptical. I guess there are classes you can take for extra $$, and that's fine with me if it keeps my membership cost down. The weight room area is easy to navigate and there is lots of space for everyone. Gym It is a great, no-fuss clean gym that I love. Although they don't have a pool (probably the only thing I miss about FitRec....) I don't find myself pining for the bigger-type gyms that are around Boston. read more

Joined this gym back in October, and for the price, it's simply unbeatable. There's a great atmosphere here, from the staff, patrons, and management. I've been in a few gym's before but often found it difficult to get into a routine, and be comfortable in the gym. I'd be eyeing the weights room in the mirror, checking to see if anybody is laughing at my poor form etc. Not in Gymit! As I've progressed a bit I would kinda like to see a squat rack and a bench press put in (There are three Smith Machines, but I don't believe they're perfect substitutes). Of note however is how they are constantly improving the place, since I've joined they've added a ton more flat screen tv's, a new smith machine, ez bars up to 110lbs, doubled the cable jungle, and added new benches that go decline as well as incline. Can't commend the friendly staff, and the ethos of the management enough. Fair play lads! read more

I am a big fan of Gym it. It has been the 5th gym I have gone to in the area and it is by far the best. They have a simple business plan, have nice equipment and make it very easy to sign up as well as cancel. It was very simple to sign up. I signed up using a kiosk while in the gym. I could have also signed up in a few minutes on their website. An additional nice part of signing up is that no one forced me to follow them on a tour and no one attempted to pressure me into purchasing additional services that some other local gyms do. My favorite part of the gym is the wall of hanging HDTVs. Its quite a sight to see. There are 20 tvs strung together and they are all connected to the cardio equipment. read more

This cheap gym is poor quality and some of the staff (Kayla the manager) are very unfriendly. The only positive about this negative gym is that it's often quiet and almost completely empty, so it's easy to get a low quality machine. I saw a rat at this gym once. Nasty, nasty, nassty! read more

Alright. So I've been here for a week now. I am finally falling back in love with the gym once again! I am a busy person. so this gym is PERFECT for my schedule. I can do a power workout comfortably in 30 mins and take a nice shower in a CLEAN facility. its so hard to find a cheap clean gym. plus, the people who are all there are super friendly! thus making it nice and comfortable to do ANY workout i want without fearing someone is judging me for doing it wrong. as long as it stays clean and cheap, ill be working out here a lot more than I originally planned! :) read more

I understand why people are bothered when the trainers come up to them, its awkward at first. However, after a few confrontations I realized that- A- They want to know if you're comfortable to take some criticism and B- They know what they're talking about and its best to know if you're doing something wrong. Earlier someone said something about insurance- they don't want injuries. Its a very east coast thing to stay reserved at all times out in public. There are definitely a few out going people, but when do you walk down the street and say "good afternoon" to the one other person walking in the opposite direction? I think part of the goal for this gym is to break that stigma and encourage people to open up and create a friendly/ comfortable environment. Prime function requires communication! I used to be a Gold's gym member, and as a puny female that kind of sucked. Maybe I'm still puny, but the gymit trainers encourage me to lift weights and rock out overhead squats/ deadlifts, whatever, you name it. It's only been one month, no personal training (yet) and I am already lifting twice as much as I did before starting. As for gold's, they can take their women's closed off workout area and shove it up their gluteus maximus! read more

I previously wrote a negative review about the cancellation policy, but Matt was extremely quick to respond, nice, and very helpful in solving my problem. Therefore, I am changing my review to a positive one! I signed up for GymIt during the summer for my summer internship. The facilities are nice and extremely clean. It's a great value considering how cheap the membership fee is! There is an open space, machines, treadmills, and free weights. However, there were only smith machines and they don't have barbells or power racks or squat racks for any weightlifters or powerlifters. But they pretty much have all that you need. The staff is also really nice and friendly, and great about showing you around or answering any questions. I really enjoyed it and would definitely start a membership again if I come back to Boston next summer! read more

I'm a lifelong couch potato who decided to make some serious lifestyle changes in 2011. I'm now 56 pounds lighter than I was last New Year's, and a huge part of that is GymIt. I love GymIt so much that I'm signing up for Yelp so I can talk about my feelings. First, I really can't emphasize how uncomfortable gyms usually make me. I've always hated indoor workouts, and when I was a BU undergrad back in the day, FitRec was filled with a large number of terrifyingly fit people who made it their business to glare at the fat lady on the elliptical. Gyms generally don't strike me as being comfortable, body-positive places, so I usually frittered my membership dollars away and stayed home. I joined GymIt because it was simply too cheap to pass up -- the membership fee is half the price of FitRec's, even with the BU employee discount. I figured that if I hated it, they at least made it easy to quit. GymIt is, hands-down, the best workout experience I could ask for. The staff is super-friendly and helpful, but they don't try to push anything on you. The trainers are always willing to explain how equipment works (I told you I was a newbie!), and the clientele is happily lacking in meatheads and mean girls. Everyone in there is just trying to get in a workout and get on with their life. I've never had to wait longer than 2 minutes for a machine, and the locker rooms are well-equipped for those dreaded early-morning exercise sessions. The ellipticals have iPod docks, and all the cardio machines are plugged into the giant span of 20 big-screen TVs. There's usually something on to distract me from imminent exhaustion (although I really want to know who on earth insists that at least two of those TVs must always play NCIS reruns on a loop), and the free Wi-Fi means that I can always just stream Parks & Recreation on my iPhone if nothing good is on TV. One of their slogans really sold me on their attitude: "Earn your mac and cheese tonight." I like what that connotes -- food's not evil, and you don't have to live on lentils and celery to be fit. I also appreciate any gym that recognizes how fundamentally important mac and cheese is to my continued existence. Parking is great -- I usually use a BU lot about a block away, but when the weather's terrible, I use the garage behind the building. Even when I make time for a long workout, I've never paid more than $1 with the validated rate. GymIt makes me actually want to work out, and I'm there anywhere from 4 to 7 times a week now. I look forward to dripping gross amounts of sweat there for quite some time to come. read more

I've just started going to GymIt, and it is the the least expensive gym I've been two (in the three cities I've lived in in the last five years--Philly, NYC, and Boston). It's also the cleanest and best-looking. There are tons of machines, which function really well, and the locker rooms are big. There are TVs showing about ten different channels (Food Network, FX, Bravo, CNN, etc.), and each of the cardio machines has an iPod/iPhone dock. All of this is meant to say that GymIt is a pretty fantastic deal. I'm not a gym person, but GymIt is a really pleasant place. The staff members I've interacted with have all been pleasant, the place is clean and well-decorated, and it isn't crowded at all in the early-to-mid afternoon, which is when I prefer to work out. At GymIt, it seems, you really are getting more than you paid for! My boyfriend just went through a terrible ordeal trying to cancel his membership at a $100/month gym in Manhattan. He had to send them a photograph of our new lease in Boston, and while he was on the phone he discovered that a woman who no longer works at that gym lied to him and signed him up for a 6-month commitment without his permission. In light of that experience in particular, it's really refreshing how up-front GymIt is about their fees and membership cancellation policies. It is absolutely impossible to miss that information on their website, as it appears in large font on one of the pages before you've actually given them any of your payment information. Their initiation fee is teensy compared to all others I've paid, and the maintenance fee seems more than fair considering the low monthly payment and the seemingly high standards they hold for quality of machines and overall cleanliness. This is the first gym I've ever not hated giving money to. read more

As far as Boston Gym's go, you just can't beat Gym IT based off price alone!! 20 bucks a month?? New Gym Smell?? Spacious and CLEAN work out space?? VALIDATED PARKING IN A GARAGE??? My favorite gym. Simple and functional. I am a trainer myself and refuse to workout at work, because that would mean I live at work ;-) I come here pretty much 7 days a week and very often twice a day. Staff is friendly, music is blasting (which is great, it's a gym, not church) strength floor is huge and love the amount of cable machines. Lots of cardio equipment, including arc trainers and of course treadmills (without the TVs- thank god!) Some are facing Comm Ave, which is really nice, bc cardio is boring as it is ;-) The lack of super heavy weights means lack of meatheads which is a huge perk when you're a girl! Bottom line, great, affordable, and clean. What's more to ask for? read more

First thing is first, this place is really, really cheap. I joined before they even opened so I paid no initiation or maintenance fees (for the first year anyway) so I am literally paying less than $20 bucks a month. For that money, it could be a big empty room with a single jumprope in the middle and you really couldn't complain about it. In fact, there are a ton of cardio machines. All sorts of them too. I mostly just use the ellipticals but if I decided to try something else, they are certainly available. Across the front of the room there are probably 20 TV's which you can elect to listen to or play music. Speaking of listening, they have some sort of iPhone app that lets you choose the music that's playing but the free wifi lets me use Pandora so that's what I do. I don't want to hear the latest auto-tuned slow jam and the rest of the people there don't want to hear Fu Manchu (even though they should) and I understand that. In the main cardio room they also have some sort of 30 minute workout circuit. I've never tried it. It's there and I see people doing it. The rooms is big and bright and clean. They also have 2 other rooms. First is a dance studio type of room with a hardwood floor and what I'd imagine a big loud speaker system. The only time I ever saw anyone in there was a kid brought in his laptop and was doing his PX90 workout along with the DVD. He looked ridiculous. I imagine they'll be doing classes in there at some point but for right now, it's mostly unused. The last room that abuts the locker rooms is the weight area. I wish they'd expand this a bit. There are plenty of universal-type machines and 2 giant racks of dumbbells. They also have a bunch of sit-up and other ab-crunch type things. They have a couple of bench press racks but the bar is tethered to the rack. I don't like these machines but if I intend to do bench presses, this is what I got. This place is not a lifting gym. I imagine they're not really going for that whole vibe of muscle-bound sweaty guys grunting out 7000 reps on a bench press rack with so many plates on it, that the bar bends in the middle. I'm able to accomplish what I need to with what they have there but it's a compromise sometimes. The locker room is big, well lit and is mostly clean. Sometimes the showers get a little funky but I invested 3 dollars in a pair of Old Navy flip-flops so my feet never need to come in direct contact with the funk. I get ready for work here and the sinks are clean enough that I don't mind brushing my teeth in them. All in all, the place is terrific. The staff is always cheerful and welcoming even when I'm grumpy that I'm at the gym at 6AM on a rainy Monday. The facilities are well ahead of what you have a right to expect for such short money and I have literally seen the GM Matt (who is also very nice) mopping the floor. If you don't need a ton of weight lifting gear and are willing to go without the Zumba classes you'll never actually go to, this gym is outstanding. read more

I love GymIt! It's clean, bright and has more than enough machines. The staff is super friendly, whoever is at the front desk always say hello when you come in and goodbye when you leave. I wish they offered more classes geared towards women, like Pilates or Barre, but a year ago they didn't offer any classes at all, so maybe it'll happen in the future. I convinced my boyfriend to join and he laments the fact they don't have a squat rack (whatever that is...). But I stick to the treadmill, elliptical and free weights so for me it's perfect. I live several blocks away from this gym and after the new year, I knew I wanted to join a gym and get in shape. I would run outside except Boston is freezing from Jan-mid April (so I've heard), and I am not that dedicated to run in 2 degree weather with a windchill that makes it feel like it's -16 outside. My friend at law school suggested this gym, and I came to quickly find out that many of my classmates who lived in the Allston/Brighton area work out here. First, the HUGE selling point is that it's only $20/month with no commitment. The gym itself is quite impressive; it's much bigger than I first thought it would be. Essentially, you walk up a flight of stairs to get to the gym and check in with your membership pass. Then, you can either take a left or a right. If you go to the right, that's where all of your cardio equipment will be located (everything from treadmills to ellipticals to bikes). To the left, is a who area dedicated to lifting. The back is where the men and women's restrooms are and there are showers too for those really busy people that need to get in and get out but having somewhere other than home to get to. The staff is extremely friendly; sometimes, I'll ask them to change the channel to Bravo (no judging) so I can watch the Real Housewives (hey I said no judging earlier remember?) while I work out. The other IMPORTANT thing to note is that because the BU gym is right across the street, this place doesn't get packed; that's a plus because even when you think it should be really busy, it won't be. One last thing I promise is that they are open from 5am-10/11PM every night. That means that if you're an early riser, you can hit the gym literally when no one else will be awake except for maybe the people that work for MBTA or go at 10/11PM if you're a night owl. read more

First workout after switching gyms from Bally in Brighton after they CLOSED DOWN WITHOUT NOTICE and made me want to stab someone. GymIt is so much better, I can't believe I didn't switch here in the first place. I have the $27 a month plan and can bring my boyfriend free with me every time. We both used the rowing machines and then split up for cardio/weights. Good workout, nice locker rooms, friendly people, and IPod chargers plugged directly into most cardio machines! I did not realize how great of a gym Gym It is until I had to go to another gym due to relocation. It is really the best gym around. Affordable, simple, no bullshit billing. You want to cancel, just cancel. Easy, how it should be. Great facilities. Bathrooms are always clean, as is the equipment. Staff is friendly, courteous and they know their shit. Great location. The gym was very inclusive of the diverse members. The atmosphere seemed focused on health rather than appearance (boston sports clubs) or cheapness (rockin fitness and planet fitness). I lived in Boston for 2 months and a half and I needed a cheap gym to workout but when I saw Gym It it was way more than a cheap gym, they have a great space and equipments (area to take a bath, change clothes, keep our stuffs secure). This is a 5 star place for some... and a 1 star place for others, including me. It depends on what you want. Therefore, 3 is a fair average. The place is very cheap, and they have some frills like iPod docking stations on the cardio equipment, wireless internet and vending machines with protein shakes, water, etc. The staff is very friendly. In all, I think the place makes membership very appealing to a lot of people who wouldn't otherwise join a gym, and really should do so for their health. So, cool. That being said, this place royally sucks for weight-lifters. There's no real bench setup, no squat rack and no free-weight barbells. The only substitute for these is three Smith Machines, which are very inferior (in general; this wasn't a pointed remark at GymIt's Smith Machines). The dumbbells only go up to 70 lbs. They have a total of eight 45-lb. plates. The ridiculous part was that they advertised some "improvements" they were making with the strength training area -- more mirrors and more plasma screen TVs! This was both hilarious and irritating. Screw the fundamentals, more frills! If you don't lift weights and you live relatively close by, go for it. If you do lift, definitely go elsewhere, because there are a number of gyms in the area that are so much more suited to your needs that any extra dollars you pay will be justified by the improvement in the quality of your workouts. If you're paying for a gym membership, you might as well get what you want, which you probably won't get at this place. read more

More industrious than warm and fuzzy. Tons of machines. Try to get in before/after the post-work rush. It's very busy around 6pm. Folks seem pretty focused about getting it done and getting out of there...not a whole lot of roaming and fraternizing, which I like. They don't have traditional classes but I've seen trainers lead a circuit training group of about 4-6 ppl. The price is cheap at $20 a month and you can bring a friend. read more

Unfortunately, Gym It did not notify me that I would be charged a 6 month membership fee. They also did not notify me that when I put my membership on a freeze that I would be charged an extra $5.00 every month. I wish they would have explained these processes to me up front. The customer service representative who I spoke with when I called them to explain the charges also did not seem very competent. UPDATE: I have updated this review because almost immediately after I wrote the review, the president of gymit contacted me via phone and email because he wanted to help me solve this problem. He explained the fee's to me and was very apologetic that they were not originally made clear. He obviously cares about his customers therefore I have updated my review and star rating. read more

Went here for a few years and mostly enjoyed it. The gym itself is nice, the staff are great (with one or two exceptions, see below), but the guests can be frustrating to share space/equipment with. Lots of people sitting on machines not using them or texting, oblivious to the fact that it's the only machine of its kind or that the others are actively being used. Staff will of course do something if you point it out to them, but not everyone is comfortable with that kind of confrontation. If you don't mind BU bros everywhere, and tend to go to the gym not at peak hours, you'll find this place valuable. One thing I want to mention is that if you do decide to cancel your membership, make sure you read their policy *and make sure the staff follows it too*. This past January I went in to cancel, as I wanted to find a gym closer to me. I spoke with a staff member and asked her if I'd still be charged the maintenance fee in March if I cancelled that day. She said that I'd only be charged for February, since their policy is that you give 30 days notice. No problem. I told her I'd like to cancel, she had me scan my card, then told me I was all set. Thinking I'd never step foot in that place again, I started trying out other gyms. Then March 1st comes around and I was charged the membership fee and the maintenance fee. I called and spoke with a manager, who said that there was no record of me cancelling. I told her exactly what happened. She asked if I signed anything when I cancelled, and I stated that I couldn't remember. She said that because there is no record of me signing it, they couldn't do anything. I stated that this was disappointing because it was her own employee's fault. She said that their employees are very well trained and would not make a mistake like that, effectively calling me a liar. Here's the thing: by the end of that conversation, I decided to switch to the Watertown location. I don't want a refund, because at this point there is nothing to refund me, since I am still a GymIt member. I just go to a different location now. Yet, even though I don't want a refund, here I am leaving a review stating that I spoke with a front desk employee who helped me cancel my account, and she messed up by not doing what she was supposed to do. If I don't want or expect a refund, why would I lie about my interaction with the front desk employee? So don't be afraid to be a little annoying about it. Make sure there's another staff member there at the front desk when you're cancelling. Make sure they have you sign something. Have them email you to confirm your cancellation. At most businesses, whatever your relationship with them, you can tell them that you want to stop doing business, and you can rely on them to follow through with your wish. Not at GymIt. They'll mess up and then suggest you're lying to them. *You* have to make sure *they* do *their* job correctly. This gym is a pretty good value. It's inexpensive and it gets the job done. My interactions with staff have been almost entirely positive. If it wasn't for that debacle with trying to cancel and being called a liar, I'd give this four stars. read more

Unless you have a discount through your employer, or access to a university gym, this gym is unbeatable in this part of Boston. Their equipment is top notch and they have everything a stereotypical cardio bunny or meat head would ever need. Should you fall somewhere between those two extremes you're in luck, because they have enough equipment that you too can have access to them. Locker rooms are clean and they also offer additional add-on services like personal training, locker rental, towels, and class passes. I'm a fan, thus 5 stars. read more

It's a good deal for where Gymit is located. It's next door to my job so I go twice a day, before work and on my lunch break. Very convenient and friendly staff . It's never crowded during the hours I go. They have nice big screen TVs where the exercise machines are located. There's always nice music playing on the speakers. This gym is always clean when I go. I don't know how clean it is during peak hours. I shower there after my morning workout. The stand up showers are always clean around that time. There are two private rooms in the ladies' locker room where you can use in private. There's a large mirror and a chair in each one of the private rooms. read more

This is the superior of the 2 gym-it's, although the parking/streets here are not convenient (walk, Bike, T). The main reasons I enjoy this gym more is because: A. Better AC & Air Flow - if you are one like myself who will sweat when working out in the snow, you tend to note where you can get the best cooling. Watertown is reliant on ceiling fans while this one has a nice HVAC system. B. Better treadmills. I generally prefer running outside, but the treadmills here are my favorite (should I ever buy one for personal use, I would want one of these). The belt is a couple inches wider than standard and they are more powerful despite being older than the Watertown ones. As I am 6'6 and over 260 lbs, this makes a huge difference in my runs. Being able to zone out while running without hitting the side bar on slight missteps adds to comfort, while the extra horse power ensures the belt doesn't stutter when I up the speed for sprint intervals. C. The population here is largely college kids, which makes it easy to find times when it is completely dead. It's even easier during the summer between semesters (we went at 2PM on a Saturday and it was a ghost town). An empty but full featured gym will equal a more relaxing yet intense workout. Less frustration with strangers = more workout. D. Super friendly and helpful staff, very often not your stereotypical gym rat working the front desk for a free membership. read more

I joined GymIt for the sole reason that it is the cheapest gym membership I've ever seen in my life (except in the midwest, though even then it's competitive). Facility is small, though very well-kept and clean. Staff is largely very good about being friendly and wanting to help if/when needed. Since it's only $20/month, you get what you pay for and not much more...yes there's plenty of cardio and weight machines, but not much space for using free weights. But, when a gym membership is as cheap as it is, it's hard to complain. read more

For a city gym I was impressed at how clean GymIt is. I'm not a huge gym snob (didn't play collegiate sports, not a body builder, etc...), and it has everything I need! It does not have classes though, so if that's you're thing then you're out of luck. They do have "sessions" though with the personal trainers that work there, and while I haven't participated in one they look like they would be rather effective. For the price, GymIt is pretty hard to beat. The only problem is that with such a low price, they have a large membership and working out at peak hours can be a nuisance, but such is city life I guess. read more

I went with a friend who has a members pass that allows him to bring a guest. It is very clean! They have no outdated equipment and everything is neat and new. The locker rooms are so clean it puts even Mr.Clean down! Many lockers to use. They are also HUGE! Tons of space and everything plus more you would ever need in a gym! Everyone is SUPER friendly! Everyone does not seem to judge and understands that people go to the gym for different reasons but the shared interest is in health. It is a comfortable place for anyone. I am not thin and felt safe and comfortable there. My friend who is much more fit and has been building on his muscles doesn't judge or feel judged. We both know people of all shapes and sizes who go here and enjoy it! read more

Been years since I signed onto Yelp (can't believe I remembered my pw!), anyways I thought it was fitting for my first review to be about a gym, since I do eat out multiple times daily. I love eating and don't really feel guilty about it (not really a good thing!). So let's kick it off with GYM IT! I joined simply because I am so tired of being cramped and crowded at the Oak Sq YMCA waiting for limited machines and weights. It's like when you turn around you're in someone's face. I totally took a risk and joined GYM IT without even checking it out, it was solely based on all these reviews and pics here on YELP! (Some may call me crazy, but I like to think I'm spontaneous like that haha) Signing up was a breeze online took all of 2 minutes and I was even able to print out a temporary id. I'm kinda from the area so finding the parking Garage wasn't hard at all (No GPS required) and the main entrance is right there on Comm. Ave, so can't really miss it. I parked my car on the 4th flr of the garage, where the entrance is to the gym and as soon as I walk in and took a look and I was impressed by it's cleanliness and modern look that surpasses the Y any day and Newton's BSC. I was then greeted at the desk by the staff, who can clearly tell it was my first time there and jokingly asked, "Are you sure you're at the right gym? Because Gold's is in Cambridge). I laughed and he had me set up really quickly and gave me a couple of guest passes and walked me to the locker room. It was refreshing to see a big clean space with dressing rooms (so you won't subject yourself to seeing naked old men walking around) I'd even consider showering at this place haha. The gym itself is big, which I love, plenty of cardio machines, tvs, and a decent weight room. I purposely went during peak hours from 6-8pm just to see how crowded it would be and yeah there are definitely people there, but nothing compared to my old gym (you try going to the Y during those hours.) I didn't have trouble finding equipment to use at all. This is what a gym should be, I don't do any classes or all the bells and whistles. I like to get in and get out. It is a bit further than the Y, but for 20 bucks a month compared to 50 at the Y, I'll drive any day. Speaking of driving, parking can be a little difficult on the street, but for people like me, who have no patience in looking for a spot, they do offer validated parking for $1 an hour. I'd give the gym 4 1/2 stars but I can't. This gym is for those who just need and want some type of physical activity during their busy day. This is not a spa like Equinox or those other fancy spots, but I prefer this over all. l'm going burn one of my guest passes when I take the gf here this weekend (because she's a fit freak), but until then I need to make this place my second home for all meals that await! read more

Gym It is a great value. I have never had a hard time getting on any of the cardio machines because it was too crowded. Sometimes the weight area gets pretty crowded but I have never really had to wait to use any of the weight equipment either. I will definitely keep my membership at Gym It for a long time. I wish they would have free classes though. read more

This is a Fantastic Place! I was working out one night and I overdid it and my entire abdominal region was in excruciating pain. I was limping towards the exit and fell to the ground. I waited on the ground in agonizing pain and Brendon, an employee with Gymit came to my aid. He offered me an energy drink (on the house) and diagnosed me. This guy was a nicer version of Dr. House. I can tell you for a fact that no other gym would have service like this one. As long as people like Brendon continue to assist Gymit, this place will thrive for its amazing service. The facilities are clean, and the TVs always have a wide variety of things to watch. I truly love this place. If I could give it 10 stars I would. read more

I see you there GymIt, across the street from the Boston University Fitness and Recreation Center. Just waiting to pounce on recent BU graduates who have no money, no gym, and no plans in life. I see how you keep your rate at $20/month with no commitment. Scooping up early twenty-somethings left and right aren't you? I also see you keeping it chill. I see dumbells galore but no squat racks. You're really not a good place for intense training. You also keep it extremely clean. I smelled that "fresh new gym smell" that you tout. You should. Just turned one in spring 2012 didn't you? Thanks for having so much equipment. I lifted and moved everything I wanted to move when I wanted to move it. BUT, where are the towels and classes? My girlfriend just got a membership here and I obviously tag along every gym trip now. This place is new, open, bright, and inviting. They dont ever give me a hard time about being a guest and the people behind the counter are amazing and so friendly. This Gym is epic. I like being left the hell alone when I work out so this place is perfect for me. The locker rooms are some of the nicest I've ever seen, and all of the equipment is state of the art. It's open great hours, and they've even started adding some classes like kickboxing- although classes are an additional fee, it's still a great value for only $19 a month. read more

This used to be a nice gym but someone stole my wallet on May 9th, 2018 from an unlocked locker. I have a member of this gym for four years and nothing like this has ever happened and IA left open lockers all the time. Trouble is they used to lend you a free lock but no more. People forget locks all the time so shouldn't they have loaner locks on hand? They are only $1 at Dollar Tree. Couldn't the gym afford to buy five and tap members' cards when they borrow one so they know who to charge if the lock is not returned? Why do they have to be so bitchy and cheap? In the meantime, my wallet is gone because when I asked at the front desk they told me they no longer lend out locks. Also, the TV programming is shitty no wonder I do not enjoy going there anymore.
