The construction of Zen windows had a superior quality than the other windows we interviewed. Installation by Marcos and his crew was efficient and professional. Window installation was quick, while making a difficult job look easy. While selecting for a window company can be daunting, we searched through the internet for window ratings and found Provia Endure Windows to be highly rated. Lifetime warranty for the windows and installation also were deciding factors for us. Curb appeal, value, comfort plus improving energy-efficiency and security added value to our house. 38 windows replaced by Zen Windows.

I'm a first-time homebuyer and purchased my house in March 2021. While the house was in great…read morecondition and had recently been renovated, it still had the original wooden windows that were installed when the house was built in the 1950's. While I appreciated their history, classic look and the fact that they were still in good shape, it was clear they needed to be updated. I contacted several window companies around town, both local and national establishments. After being put off by some of the high pressure, in person sales tactics other places had, I found the approach that Brian and his team at Zen Windows very refreshing. I also saw that they were voted Best in Charlotte by Charlotte Magazine in 2020, and I wanted to support a local business if I could. Brian was very generous with his time, and it only took a few phone calls with him and a quick visit from his installer to get measurements for them to have all the information they needed. I was impressed with how simple and straightforward the process was. Another huge selling point was that I wouldn't have to pay anything until the job was complete, a big difference from other companies. The turnaround took about three months for the windows to be built, but I would chalk that up to COVID, supply chain issues and increased demand for home projects because of the pandemic rather than anything on Zen's end. Quoted turnaround times at other businesses were similar. Once the windows were ready, Zen sent a simple three man crew to my home to perform the installation. Each gentleman on the crew probably had 30-40 years of window installation themselves, so as a team they were pretty capable. In just two quick morning sessions, my windows were complete! I'm extremely happy with the end result. The windows are fantastic, incredibly easy to use, they look great (black exterior FTW), and I can already tell they perform much better than the old ones. Brian and his team did an outstanding job, and I would recommend them to anyone looking to upgrade their windows!

Shawn at Heavenly Home Improvements worked on a power outlet, weatherstripping and a door…read moreinstallation for us. On the small projects, he did an excellent job and was very thorough. On the door installation, he had to leave for a family emergency and I agreed to finish the job with some paint and caulk. However, another builder subsequently inspected the job and found that the framing required extra wood shims and I had to hire someone else to fix it. The prices were a bit higher than other handyman services. Overall, I think Heavenly Home Improvements is a decent choice for small projects but buyers may wish to compare hourly rates first.

The first coat in the stairwell did not cover well; original paint could be seen in several places…read more They came back to roll a second coat, but did not "cut in" along the edges. Once dry, this left a visible jagged border along the ceiling lines, corners, under the railing, and into the family room at the bottom of the stairs. Apparently, the original gallon and the new gallon weren't mixed together for this project, so the tints were slightly off. So, the original work wasn't satisfactory, and their recommended fix created an even bigger problem - all the while assuring me that everything would dry evenly and that I would be satisfied. And all that, by the way, after I pre-paid for the work to be done. Their solution to the whole debacle was to make excuses and charge more money. After dealing with the frustration, and a lack of communication and timeliness, I did not agree to the extra expense. In all fairness, he did offer a bit of a discount to make everything right. Shawn is a nice guy and a member of our community, which makes this experience - and this review - all the more disappointing. On the bright side, the hallway and the ceiling look great. We're grateful for that.

Michael Sharpe, the owner, was honest about what I actually needed and never tried to upsell or use any high-pressure sales tactics. His price was very fair, and he took the time to explain everything so I felt confident in my decision.[yelp +2] The installation team showed up on time, worked efficiently, and the finished windows and doors look beautiful--truly beyond my expectations. The whole process was smooth and stress-free. If you need windows or doors replaced, make sure you call Window Source of Augusta. You'll be glad you did--this is a company you can trust with your home.

We chose The Window Source of Augusta, and a top-of-the-line Provia Signet fiberglass door. -- The Window Source of Augusta is an authorized dealer of Provia doors, which was a factor in our decision. - Michael and Steven came out to the house a couple times, and were patient and not pushy while I was tweaking the right choice of door and color scheme. - The door from Provia arrived about a month after it was ordered, and we are quite pleased with the new entry door we chose. The cherry fiberglass color we chose perfectly compliments the red brick of our home. Michael provided a lot of input into the design and kept in touch with us throughout the entire process and we are quite pleased with the overall door purchase and installation process!
