I HIGHLY recommend Roadway Moving! The experience with Roadway started off great! They were attentive, and the personal care for our move was so nice. We loved our movers and they took amazing care of our belongings! UNTIL... the moving truck hit the gate at my boyfriends apartment building. At first they were great about it. Someone reached out and took all the information, reached out to the management company of the building etc. The management company sent a quote to Roadway for the damage, and we thought everything was in the works, and all would be taken care of. Well, its been over a month since our move, and after MANY emails, texts and phone calls we have not heard a PEEP from Roadway. This is unbelievably unprofessional, frustrating, and SO disappointing after the move itself was such a great experience. I am writing this review to hopefully get the attention of someone at Roadway, and get this taken care of immediately. Understandably the building wants to get this fixed, and supposedly someone from Roadway is suppose to come and asses the damage...but we have never heard from anyone. They are holding my boyfriends security deposit, and now I am afraid that if they get it fixed without roadways physical assessment of the damage, that roadway won't cover the damages at all and we will get stuck paying for it. Why did I need additional insurance to make sure they did the basic job of moving my stuff and not stealing my couch????? They reimbursed me $1500. half of what they owed me. After I paid them more than $20k to move my stuff. BEYOND disappointing. After my review, they reached out and fully reimbursed me for the replacement cost. There were three sets of couches that were our main worry simply because of how annoying they were to carry them into the building in the first place. It was a sense of deja vu after having to load it back onto the truck too, but thankfully the movers knew some techniques to make the lift easier and they even had some tools which helped out. This company grossly underestimated the size of truck needed for our move, despite having detailed information about the contents of my home ahead of time. Because of their incompetence and lack of preparation, they left behind more than $30,000 worth of belongings. They even came 2 days before move days and assured me everything would fit. Among the items left behind were the ashes of my recently deceased husband -- something completely irreplaceable and deeply personal. The emotional distress this has caused is impossible to describe. No amount of excuses can justify treating a family's possessions, memories, and grief with such carelessness and disregard. Their credibility is a joke. At one point they said they recommended a 2nd truck and I responded that I'd have to check with my husband. Of course my response was "you mean the dead one"! Instead of taking accountability, communication was poor, solutions were inadequate, and I was left scrambling during an already emotional and stressful life transition.
