Then explained how the paint would be applied, safely and efficently all in a way we could understand. Chris and Mallory and Mr. Kilgore arrived on time, did the days work, organized their tools and supplies picked up all loose paper tape any thing out of the ordinary before leaving for the day. They were friendly courteous, the whole team deserves this 5 Star gold rating. They were a pleasure to work with. Thank you all. G / B Jones

This is not a review that I wanted to write. Will Kilgore is a lovely, well-meaning man…read more Unfortunately, my experience with his company was, well, terrible. The short story: The painters did not show up as scheduled; I did not get the work that I was promised; I had to do part of the job myself and did not get a discount for it; they broke my television; I had to spend another $95 to replace the paint they had ruined. The long story: My sister was moving in with me in November and I needed to get her room painted and ready before Thanksgiving. I had given the walls 1 coat of paint, but felt it needed another coat. I also wanted two coats on the room's cathedral ceiling and one coat on my cathedral den ceiling. Will came by to eyeball the project. He said that he saw "flashing" on the walls and recommended two more coats of paint on the walls. He also said that the 3 gallons of yellow paint that I had would not be enough for the two coats. He gave me an estimate for the following work: 1 coat of paint on the den ceiling; 2 coats on the bedroom ceiling; 2 coats of paint on the bedroom walls; 1 coat on the bathroom walls, spray painting the 2 AC returns in the bedroom. He assured me that he would be on site during the entire project supervising his crew. I felt that his estimate was high ($1,200) and reminded him that only 1/2 of the bathroom walls needed to be painted. I had done the rest. He agreed to reduce his price by $150. Even though I thought the price was still a bit steep, I retained him anyway and made arrangements for him and his crew to come by on Wednesday or Thursday of the following week. They never showed up or called to say they weren't coming. Because I was in a time crunch, I began painting the room myself. I had just given the bedroom ceiling one coat, except for a small part over the high plant ledge (and I had also missed two spots lower down) when Will contacted me. He had gotten me confused with another client and that is why the painters didn't show. He apologized. I thanked him but told him that I had started the project myself and would finish it, but no hard feelings. His response: "make me an offer." I offered him $700 to do the remainder of the work that he had originally outlined, minus the first ceiling coat. When I arrived home and saw the work, I was taken aback. The bedroom ceiling clearly hadn't been given a second coat because I could clearly see to the two spots that I had missed. While they did finish the bathroom and den ceiling, the painters had not applied the two coats that were promised in the bedroom. You could still see through paint where I had stopped painting on one of the walls. What's more, instead of being short of paint I had nearly 2 full cans left over. The AC returns had not been painted and had been put back up dirty. Finally, Will had not stayed on site to supervise the work, as he had promised. I told Will about the bedroom ceiling, his painter admitted that he had merely finished the first coat over the plant ledge. He said he "didn't think it needed a second coat," even though I was paying for 2 coats. To his credit, Will personally gave the ceiling a second coat that day. I contacted will again because his painters had broken my television when they were moving it. I also told Will that the walls looked uneven, probably because his crew did not give them the two coats that I had paid for. He apologized again and said he would fix the TV and be back to personally apply the second coat. When he came the following week, he went to pour the remaining yellow paint into a 5 gallon bucket. Unfortunately, he grabbed a can of white paint instead and added it to the yellow paint, thereby ruining both gallons of paint. He'd have to come back on another day. That weekend, I had to buy 2 more gallons of yellow paint, costing me $95 dollars. I also started painting the walls in my sister's bedroom because her furniture started to arrive. A few days later, Will came by and finished the bedrooms that I had not gotten to. He fixed the television. In our email correspondence, Will was very apologetic but did not reply to my request for a reimbursement for the paint that he had spoiled. He also did not give me a refund for 2nd coat of paint that I had applied to the bedroom walls. Will is a nice guy, but I would not use his painters again nor can I recommend them.

As a military veteran we received a discount that brought their bid closer to others. Upon closer review Shore Up was providing more piling locations that in turn had provided more stability. Date was selected. They called to see if they could start a day early. Was completed a day early. Our techs were Patrick, Alex and Hunter. They could not have been more professional or pleasant during the numerous interactions over the two days. At the end of the day, it was a pleasant experience. When they were finished you could not tell they were here. It was that clean. Thank you Shore Up. Ed & Faye Hoover

Although the experience of a foundation problem is not good, the experience with the team at Shore…read moreUp Foundation was very good. Branden was our first contact, and he was very thorough and provided us a plan of action to resolve the issue. We were scheduled in a very reasonable amount of time and the staff performing the work were prompt, very polite, efficient and professional. We are not foundation experts, but we questioned the actual "fix" because we didn't feel it was performed as described in the initial meeting/plan which still left us with a small issue in our subfloor. We expressed our concern with Adlai and he was quick to respond since it was time-sensitive due to other work we had scheduled on our home. He came on a weekend to resolve the issue and took care of our needs. Shore Up's pricing was fair and in line with (less than) a second quote we received. We chose them because we like to support locally owned businesses when we have the opportunity. We just completed our follow-up visit for a remeasure and small adjustments and everything is looking good. The rating for experience is not necessarily for the actual work performed because we aren't knowledgeable when it comes to foundation issues and must trust the professionals, but we do feel the Shore Up team is striving to provide an exceptional service at a fair price.

From the very first consultation to the final walkthrough, Chad's professionalism, knowledge, and attention to detail were evident every step of the way. The team was prompt, respectful, and kept everything clean and organized throughout the process. More importantly, the quality of the work was top-notch. The encapsulation was thorough and cleanly executed, and the mold issue was completely resolved. Chad is, without a doubt, the most honest and knowledgeable foundation and mold remediation specialist I know. I trust him completely--not only with my clients' homes but with my own as well. This isn't the first job he's done for my clients, and what sticks with me is the jobs he has consulted with us on and didn't try to sell the clients on something that they didn't need and directed us to other solutions. It's a breath of fresh air when any contractor tells you theres and easier way, and gives an alternative that's best for you and your situation. If you're looking for someone who will do the job right, treat your home with care, and provide real expertise and integrity, Chad and Foundation Resq are the ones to call. Highly recommended!

Crawl Space Moisture and mold remediation and protection repair…read more Chad and his crew at Foundation RESQ were amazing to work with. We have an old house here in Tallahassee. It needed a little love under the crawl space. We wanted to make sure we could have any mold cleaned and then have protection put in place afterwards. Chad came to our house and met with us. He personally went under our house, examined the condition of the crawl space. Then, he went over everything he recommended to remediate any concerns he identified. He was very thorough and made sure we fully understood his recommendations. He made sure we understood why it was important to take care of our home's crawl space. His knowledge of water intrusion elements, government regulations regarding water intrusion clean up was extensive. The ways he recommended we protect our crawl space were practical and made sense to us. We eventually had Chad and his team replace our old Vapor Barrier, remediate any mold areas and then seal the crawl space with an EPA breathable anti-microbial sealant for future protection. When it was time to perform the work, his team was always on time, they completed the work within the estimated schedule and they were neat and efficient with the clean-up. I highly recommend Foundation RESQ for any of foundation, crawl space repairs, water and mold remediation. I don't normally post reviews, but Chad and his company deserved one. Thank you! Bonnie S.
