I've lived in Indy for a few years now, but…read morebeing from Chicago and having also lived in Baltimore and San Diego, one thing I really miss is the neighborhood culture those cities have. Each has a Little Italy and other neighborhoods where you can experience the food, traditions, and culture of different communities. That's probably one of my biggest complaints about Indianapolis, there just isn't anything. Then you find this little Italian market tucked away in a Bloomington strip mall. Being Sicilian and Italian, every time I head down to Lake Monroe to take the boat out, Little Italy Market has become a mandatory stop to fill the cooler. The Turkey and the Many Meats are my go-to sandwiches, and they never disappoint. Everything is fresh, the portions are huge, and these are easily some of the best deli sandwiches I've found anywhere in Indiana. I actually find myself craving them when I'm back home in Indy. If I lived in Bloomington, I'd definitely be a regular for the Italian grocery selection too. But for me, the sandwiches are the star of the show. The family running the place is always incredibly friendly, and they're more than happy to add or change anything on a sandwich to make it exactly how you want it. Little Italy Market is one of those locally owned places you hope sticks around forever. Great food, huge sandwiches, friendly people, and a little taste of the Italian neighborhood culture I miss. I'm literally writing this on a Friday morning waiting for noon to roll around so they can open before I head down to the lake. That probably says everything you need to know. Easy 9.3/10 If you're in Bloomington, this place is absolutely worth a stop.

I tried the falafel sandwich from Btown Gyros. It wasn't BAD but I thought it was pretty meh. The falafels were okay but the tzatziki and hummus were bland. I added some Dat's hot sauce from the condiment table about halfway through the sandwich but even that somehow did very little. I think I'll give them another try and get something else to see if I like one of the platters more. They actually have a pretty nice eating area inside and on the patio. I feel like if they put some music on and invested more in the presentation, it could be a nice place to go and eat. The guy taking orders had two airpods in, which seems a little rude to me. I am sympathetic that this is probably not very stimulating work, but I don't like having to speak over whatever they're listening to. Wouldn't hurt to leave one ear open at least.

This place is a hidden gem! There is one table inside (probably for waiting- but we used it to enjoy our food). The Saturday special was a brisket burger with green olive pasta salad and slaw. The burger was delicious- well seasoned and perfectly cooked. The pasta salad was salty and creamy and yummy! The slaw was yummy (green peppers added a nice flavor). I subbed cheese curds and they were great! We also tried a grilled ham and cheese (yummy- thick and cheesy) with the fries, that were also good. We took a toffee cake to go and it was so good. They also have a deli counter with sliced meats and cheese and smoked meats. The Dille family is very proud of their restaurant, as they should be! Nana was cooking, Grandpa was delivering, Grands were working, and everyone was so friendly! Can't wait to go back and give the pizza a try!

I'd give 2.5 stars if I could. The sushi isn't great but it's passable. Since my first visit I have…read morefound some rolls that I like more than what I got the first time. The raw fish is JUST acceptable for me; I am comfortable eating it, but I make sure to eat it right away, and this is pretty much the lowest quality of raw fish that I will gladly eat. It tastes fine but just seems like it should be colder and firmer. The rolls with cooked or ground fish are better. In the deep-fried rolls, the deep-frying seems to cook the fish. The sushi is sometimes wrapped poorly. The seaweed salad had an unpleasant, almost plasticky texture. Besides the seaweed salad, I haven't had anything that I hated. I really like the bubble tea place attached to it, so I honestly go here just to get something to eat with my drink rather than for the food itself. The positives are that it's inexpensive and quick. The staff here are polite and friendly enough, some don't speak perfect English but if you're patient with them, they will be patient with you and try to understand you. I haven't noticed the strong fishy smell again. There's a counter with a few seats inside and some picnic tables outside, but there are unfortunately people sometimes, not customers, who use the picnic tables to sit and smoke. So you will sometimes be lucky enough to get a seat inside or the outside seating will be clear, but it's more of a takeout place. I can't say I'd recommend this place if you're looking for great sushi, but if you're not picky and want something cheap it's just fine.
