A lot of restaurants claim to be "family owned," but at Borgo, it's the real thing. The entire family is from Italy. The owner came over to welcome us personally and took our order with genuine warmth. His wife is the chef. His sister was checking on tables and making sure everything ran smoothly. The whole experience felt like stepping into a small trattoria in a small Italian town and I don't say that lightly. The food was exceptional. We started with the burrata with prosciutto and an arugula salad. Both were exquisite. The burrata tasted incredibly fresh and was served at the perfect temperature I don't know if it's homemade, but it certainly tasted like it. The arugula was vibrant and peppery, as if it had just been picked, and the dressing was beautifully balanced. For mains, we had the trout, the linguine with mushrooms, and the eggplant parm. Every dish was outstanding, but the eggplant parm stopped me in my tracks -- I literally closed my eyes after the first bite. It was that good. Dessert was tiramisu and the limoncello cheesecake, and both were flawless. Light, flavorful, and not overly sweet, exactly how they should be. And the service? Flawless. It took us 45 minutes to drive to Borgo and we cannot wait to go back. After three years of searching, we finally found a place that feels like the real deal.
