But on January 2, while I was home and nursing a hangover, I looked over at my new oven and thought that the display was rather small. I walked over to it and did not see a clean button. So I got the instructions out to find out how to start the self cleaning function. This was $1000 oven, and there is no self cleaning function!!?? I had no idea they even made ovens nowadays that don't clean themselves. So I called the 800 number, and long story short they told me since it was past 48 hours, and I did not use a Lowe's credit card, and because it was installed, I am stuck with the oven I bought. I repeated to the rep on the phone, you're telling me that the oven I just bought and was delivered on December 30, three days ago, while the past two days have been a holiday is not returnable and there's nothing you can do? And he said yes, there is nothing I can do and said if he did start an exchange, he would potentially lose his job. So we ended the call, and I just accepted that I'm going to have to get down on my hands and knees and clean this oven like it's 1970. The installation guys did not use the gas piping that was purchased with the oven because they said mine was sufficient, so they told me I could take it back to the store for a refund. So I did. And when I mentioned to the girl at the return counter that I was shocked this oven did not have a cleaning function and I tried to return it, but was rejected, she said, let me get my manager for you. Within 15 minutes, Sara arranged delivery for a similar oven and also arranged for the one I purchased to be picked up. She didn't charge me a restocking fee. She didn't charge me another delivery fee. I just paid the difference for the oven which was about $70. When I called Lowe's customer service, they did not suggest that I check with my local store. I'm so glad that I did. I honestly didn't think it was going to make a difference, but I figured the worst they could say was no. And now I have a very similar oven that cleans itself. Although pleasant and friendly, she did not follow through on my order and also gave me incorrect delivery dates for both vanity and onyx top, allowing the contract with my very reliable labor crew to lapse before installation was completed. Fortunately, Evan Devine, Shilling's Service Manager was able to get " Custom Cal Homes Remodeling " to complete a perfect installation. I would advise all who order specific cabinetry to not only submit a picture of what they desire but also to sign the exact spec sheet of the Schilling building plan. in addition, before starting a major bath rehab which might demand a cast iron tub breakdown, I would advise waiting until "after" your vanity and top are delivered and accepted. I gave Schilling a 5 star review,not only for a great finished bath rehab, but also for employing stellar personal that was able to make that happen. PITIFUL! THEY DO NOT STAND BEHIND PRODUCTS SOLD!…read more I started rehabbing a house in 2017 and sparred no expense as I was looking to have the least maintenance in the future. I spent well over a 100 grand on windows framing lumber sheathing zipboard doors siding fixtures trim decking railings and so much more. I purchased LP siding in late 2018 and was installed into early 2019. I paid extra to have the siding double coated which was presented as a 50 year warranty. Within a couple of years I noticed the siding chalking and the trim opening up like a sponge. In early 2022 I presented this issue to Scott Czapar who was my salesperson that I had been dealing with since day one. Schillings had purchased the LP siding from Cedar Siding INC which has since gone out of business. I spoke to both Scott and Kyle who brought this to the attention of Dean Schillings. I paid 7500 dollars in labor and 1500 in materials to have my house repainted. I was asking Schillings to cover half the cost of materials which was 750 dollars in which they denied. They suggested that the warranty was from the company they bought the siding from. I bought the siding from Schillings not anywhere else. I will not spend 10 cents at their company ever again. Scott Czapar has never been the issue and has always gone above and beyond to address the many issues that came about. Also anyone reading this please go out and look at your siding and see if it has failed! I can guarantee that I am not the only person this has happened to.
