I absolutely LOVE my owl tattoo! I'm so happy with how it turned out. The whole experience was amazing from beginning to end. The attention to detail, creativity, and care that went into the tattoo truly made the experience special. The owl has a very meaningful and personal symbolism for me, so finding the right artist was really important. I feel like the final result captured exactly what I had envisioned--and even better than I imagined! Izzy was very professional and I definitely recommend her. read more

Black Panther by Nova. Through the process I felt a warm energy around the shop as other sessions were occurring while people filtered in and out. As the session went on, other artists took a peak for themselves or helped me by leaving me with a smile. Nova helped me through the planning and design with no problem and welcomed my alterations. I felt immensely uncomfortable during the front ribs but the support and laughs provided by Nova and staff distracted me to help keep me going. Huge shoutout to the adjacent artists (I never got their names) who helped distract and provide support towards the end. Will be returning for another session. read more

I had such an amazing experience with Lina at Guru Tattoo! She did an incredible job on my tattoo and I couldn't be happier with how it turned out. From the beginning, she really listened to what I wanted, made me feel completely comfortable, and took the time to make sure everything was just right. Not only is her work absolutely beautiful, but she was also so much fun to hang out with. Spending several hours getting tattooed could easily feel like a long day, but with Lina it genuinely felt like hanging out with a friend. She made the whole experience fun, relaxed, and memorable. I'm absolutely in love with my tattoo and would 100% recommend Lina to anyone looking for an amazing artist and an awesome experience. Thank you, Lina! read more

I waited until I was 55 years old to get a tattoo and was admittedly a bit nervous due to a previous failed attempt at another location (hated the design so never had it done). I had a fabulous experience with Guru, and specifically with Sophia. She gladly answered all my questions, no matter how ridiculous they were. She listened to all my ideas of what I was looking for and created amazing designs for both of the tattoos that just nailed it. The shop is clean, comfortable, and everyone I dealt with there was super nice. Sophia put me at ease and it was a great experience for a first (and second) tattoo. I am SO. HAPPY. with Sophia's work - she's an amazing artist. If you're on the fence about a tattoo, find previous work that you like from one of their many artists (they have a great website) and talk to them. Check out Sophia's work - you won't be disappointed! Thank you Guru and thank you Sophia! read more

I was excited to work with this artist on a large back tattoo, but unfortunately, the process ended up being disorganized and frustrating. I booked well in advance, had a consultation, and paid a deposit -- but the artist forgot about both the consultation and the actual appointment date when I followed up shortly before. When I asked to see a sketch ahead of time so I could give feedback (which seems pretty reasonable for a large, permanent piece - and when I made the appt a month prior he said he would send over a week or two before the appt), I was told I'd get a sketch 2 days before the session -- and that most clients don't see the design until the day of. When I expressed concern about not having time to process or make changes, I was brushed off with "That enough time." It felt rushed and dismissive. This was a pretty large cover up and I was uncomfortable seeing it 1-2 days prior. In the end, I canceled the appointment and forfeited my deposit because I didn't feel confident moving forward -- not because of the art, but because of the lack of communication, planning, and respect for my input. For something as personal and permanent as a tattoo, I expected a more professional approach. If you're someone who wants to feel involved and informed in the process, I'd recommend looking elsewhere. read more

Shoutout to Bean for doing an absolutely amazing job once again! He freehanded a beautiful tiger lily and puzzle piece on my arm and did such an amazing job with the shading and linework. The puzzle piece is something very important to me and I loved the design he came up with for it. I just tell him what I want with not much instruction and he's able to execute it better than I could've imagined. He's also just a fun, chill guy to chat with during the whole process. The place itself is pretty big and has a nice setup, large windows and is, most importantly, very clean. The rest of the staff is really friendly and helpful and just all around great to chat with. There's always a few artists working at once and a lot of them will be visiting from other states or countries. read more

Morgan rules. She helped turn my mix of ideas for a tropical jungle cat inspired design into something amazing. I recommend to go to Guru tattoo, they exceeded my expectations for this tattoo. I responded to an ad on IG from a tattoo artist named Bryan. He was a special guest from South Africa and was tattooing at Guru. this tattoo was very meaningful for me. I lost my dog of 11 years, my best friend, my family member and I really wanted a tattoo to memorize him. I took an ink print of his paw after he passed and was really hoping that the details of his paw would come through and Bryan exceeded my expectations. He took his time and traced over every line from the ink picture I brought in for a reference. The tattoo looks so lively and I couldn't be more happy to be able to carry my pet with me forever. The shop was so clean, they played good music, and all of the staff from the other tattoo artist to the front counter receptionist were so kind and welcoming. From the moment I walked in, you can just feel the atmosphere and everything was so calm and it made it really easy to relax. I definitely will be coming here in the future for my next tattoo. while I was there, I was able to add on this tiny palm tree too, sometimes finger tattoos can be a little difficult to execute, but mine came out great , perfect size and just enough detail for me. read more

I got a tattoo yesterday by a guest artist @tattoosbybryan on instagram and everything from the second I walked in was so much different from the previous two shops I have gotten tattoos at. I was at the Little Italy location and they have multiple levels and it's so clean and fancy in there. I was highly highly impressed. Everyone was so professional and even the other artists with whom I interacted were kind and I could tell how proud they were of their work. I absolutely adore my tattoo and Bryan for all the amazing work he did. I truly felt special and like he wanted to not only bring my vision to life but also wanted to create something he was proud of and I could tell he was proud of his work. All in all, if you want a clean studio where the artists are passionate, and you can feel safe and respected then this is definitely the shop for you! read more
