Daily you will find multiple staff for every department. The staff work well together to give prompt and gentle daily care for all residents. All residents are encouraged to be active in exercise groups if not here for therapy. Our goals are to keep your loved one as independent as possible for as long as possible. Maintaining their dignity and right to decide is very important for each plan of care. Daily activities run from 8am until 9pm daily. Multiple different courses offered at each meal for all diet types. Supervisors who are available to all staff 24 hours a day. Many who are here on their days off. When you look for employees who have "bought in" to their career, you will find them at Hillcrest in Round Lake Beach. I can personally say that we do and always will go above and beyond for our residents and staff. We are family, we do provide person centered care and will always provide a clean environment for your loved one. We encourage family to volunteer so they can see day to day operations! No more imcompatant doctors. No more nursing home rules they expect you to know. They are probably glad to see this smart, non compliant patient. Medical situations are addressed immediately. The grounds are very attractive and accessible to residents and visitors alike. The facility itself is well decorated and appointed. She has been a resident for more than seven years, having originally moved into the community with my grandfather who passed away a few years ago. Throughout that time, they have faithfully paid every bill and fulfilled every financial obligation. Yet, over the past three years, in addition to the customary annual increases, her fees have been raised dramatically, often with the bare minimum notice and seemingly without any meaningful consideration for the people expected to absorb these increases. What is particularly troubling is the complete disregard for correspondence questioning these decisions. Rather than engaging in a thoughtful conversation with the families who have entrusted them with the care of their loved ones, management simply implements the increases and moves forward as though the concerns raised are irrelevant. These increases are presented without any meaningful explanation tying them to inflation, actual operating expenses, or improvements in care. Instead, they appear to reflect little more than what management believes it can charge an elderly population with limited alternatives and time. All of this is done while the organization continues to promote its commitment to compassion, dignity, and respect. Perhaps most disappointing is the impersonal nature of the responses we do receive. They read like generic, AI-generated statements, devoid of genuine empathy or any indication that an actual person has considered the circumstances. At times, I genuinely wonder whether we are corresponding with human beings or robots. My grandmother is not an account number, a revenue opportunity, or simply another resident on a spreadsheet. She is a 100-year-old woman who has spent seven years making this community her home. At this stage of her life, she deserves stability, dignity, consideration, and a measure of loyalty from an organization to which she has given so much. Compassion is not something you demonstrate through marketing materials or carefully worded responses. It is demonstrated through the way you treat people, particularly those who are most vulnerable. Unfortunately, our family's experience has revealed a profound disconnect between the compassion this organization advertises and the compassion it actually practices. Forget the internet, their prices are the the same or very close to them. We tried what we could to keep him at home. Senior delivery meals were often found half eaten. The turnover with in-home care was so frequent we were never confident or comfortable having so many different people coming and going. He wasn't eating healthy meals, he wasn't staying hydrated, he was at risk for falls, and he was either sleeping or watching TV most of the day. His quality of life was gone. Life has changed for Dad. He is getting regular, "home-cooked" meals; he exercises daily, he participates in activities with other residents and keeps updated on current events. His Suite and the surrounding common areas are well-appointed, but homey. The number of suites is small enough that he knows all of his neighbors and the staff. Activity Director Robin has become a member of the family; Campus Nurse Sarah is attentive to anything that he needs. He remarks regularly on how quickly a staff member arrives when he calls - even if it is just to open the twist off cap off a drink. He has his own Suite decorated just as he likes it; the grounds are beautiful and provide an opportunity for bird watching and gardening. He is truly living in a community and I can't begin to say enough about his new home.

They seem to find a way to either covertly turn the blame around, make excuses or boast that despite your complaints that basically they are still the best assisted living facility in the area... if they are that is very sad. Our loved one was plopped into an old metal bed that didn't even hold him. He was falling off the side of the bed. They had to search and Try and find a pillow to prop his arm up. He lay there waiting to be attended to for hours! We observed "nurses"?? using the same pair of gloves for everything they did. I would not leave my dog there!! We had to call an ambulance and have him removed, and taken to a hospital. Warning!! NEVER USE THIS AWFUL FACILITY!!
