After close to two years of frustration, numerous meetings and not seeing any changes I met with Sunrise. I decided to move my mom to sunrise even though we were in the middle of COVID. If was the best thing I ever did. Not just according to me but also according to my mom. Sunrise has it dialed in and all the things that used to frustrate me are gone. The CNA,s have spent time getting to know her. My mom says she feels like they really take an interest in getting to know her. My advise to anyone who is looking for assisted living in the area, don't be fooled by the shiny penny. It is the concern and care for the family member that is most important. Everyone is very caring about all of their residents. The rooms are very spacious and quiet, we could not hear any other residents around us. We were able to dine with my mom the first few days.The dining room menu has multiple selections at every meal . Our loved one was plopped into an old metal bed that didn't even hold him. He was falling off the side of the bed. They had to search and Try and find a pillow to prop his arm up. You are warmly greeted by the front desk manager, Andre, when you enter the facility. Several of the nurses said they work there because they love taking care of people, especially older people. Their intake coordinator and social worker were always available to answer questions. We spoke with the head of nursing, after hours, on more than one occasion. The nutritionists and cook did their best to accommodate special requests. The physical therapist would not take no for an answer which was necessary. I needed someone to stay at the hospital during the procedure and then take me home after. I met with Ryan who took all my information and matched me with one of their care givers, Daria. Daria was fabulous. My procedure meant I needed to be at the hospital at 5:30am. Ugh. We left my home at 4:30am and Daria didn't bat an eye at the time. Afterward, Daria pulled the car up to the hospital door, helped me in and took me to Target to help me get the one lens from my glasses removed that corresponded with the eye that just had surgery. Unfortunately, I was in a tremendous amount of pain and Daria was there every step of the way. I have already requested her for my second cataract surgery. I cannot say enough praise for Comfort Keepers and especially for Daria.
