Never did I think we would order pizza in Paris, but when we searched for restaurants around us on…read morethe Canal we couldn't help but be intrigued by all the positive reviews. I got a carnet of red wine and we split a Bolognese Pizza and the bill came to less than 20£. And I woukd agree this wood oven pizza was some of the best pizza I ever had. We opted for thin crust and we not disappointed.

Places have to do quite a bit to earn my enamorment (yes, I know that's not a word.) But this place. Wow. Pizza that you can go to your grave remembering. This is a pizza's pizza. It's not your typical Parisian pizza - thin crust, "personal" size. It's what we'd call in the US "Chicago-style", I think also known as "Sicilian-style". Super thick crust, baked in a brick oven, and big. You're served essentially 1/4 of a large pan of pizza. They cook their crusts first. Then, when you order, they make your individual "slice" as you want it by adding toppings to the crust and cooking it again. A taste sensation. We don't get a lot of food-love up here in the NE corner of the Paris nether-world. But this is a place to travel to. Make a day of it at Buttes Chaumont or the Parc de la Villette. Stay for the pizza.

This place is legit! We were tired of eating French traditional cuisine so we looked for a place…read morethat was good and not too far from where we were saying in La Villette. We settled on Ober Mamma, which had wonderful reviews. We got there, there was a line and it was raining. the chances of having a sit-down meal at this packed place were grilled, until they gave us the opportunity to sit outside. We immediately jumped not he opportunity, and immediately ordered. Franchesco came out with his wide happy smile and took our order. He a delight to have wait on us. We ordered the mortadella with pieces of parmigiano, a Smoking Hot pizza, and La Fameus Pate a la Truffe. We also ordered a nice bottle of wine from Sicily, Franchesco's homeland. The pizza and the pasta came out first, and we started eating right away. The pizza had the right amount of heat, and the pasta was not overwhelmed with truffles. Then came the mortadella which was delicious. We would have preferred the mortadella first, but we happy ate it. Inside, the place is huge, and loud. The ambiance is modern and feels upscale. As with all places in Europe, the temperature inside was hot- so we were actually happy to be sitting outside. Luckily we were not getting wet under the awning, but it was cold. Luckily, this place also provides blankets for your legs which we happily used. At the end of our meal, Franchesco brought us some Lomoncello and hung out with us telling us about Italy & France. We had an amazing evening, great food, and even better company. Give this place a try. You will not be sorry.

Open kitchen concept where you can see the chefs happily cooking or cooking all stressed out lol. Our server was Izaya very friendly, well spoken and caring. He ensured our allergies were taken care of. He was fast with his service and continuously checked up on us to ensure we had everything we needed. Now food, mama Margherita pizza was freshly made so you have to really wait it out before taking a bite to ensure you don't burn your mouth. Pizza was evenly baked and crust was even yummy. Mozzarella cheese bites were the winner of the evening. So good the crumbs that covered the cheese were just wow. So tasty we ordered 3 servings of it. We ordered a small salad which was a generous portion for all of us. Good variety of wine list and very reasonably priced. Tiramisu was one of the dessert options and every bite met all our expectations. Overall great experience here they do squeeze a lot of people in there so you could be elbowing your neighbor on another table.

The food was great, reasonable and fairly quick and the owner was incredibly friendly and accommodating to us despite the fact that we don't speak french. The owner speaks English and immediately spoke to us in English as soon as he realized we were tourists. The place also provides English translations on all of their menus which was really helpful and I was grateful not to have to have to ask for a special menu/translations. The food was quite good. Everything they serve can be done Kosher, but you don't HAVE to have it kosher if you don't want to (AKA you can get meat sauce with a cheese au gratin dish). My fiance had the nature gratin potatoes and I had the pasta bolongese gratin. Both were very tasty. The restaurant itself is small and has maybe 10 tables inside, but it wasn't too busy. IT seems like most customers do take-out which makes sense for the area. It was clean and comfortable, but not too exciting in terms of atmosphere (not that I was expecting anything, haha). Overall, I am really pleased with this find and I would 100% recommend it for anyone in the area, especially those visiting who don't speak french. They were so friendly and it was a great experience. Plus, there's no open patio seating so you don't need to deal with annoying smoke from smokers out front puffing into the restaurant.

If you're looking for a decent pizza to take with you back to your place or to eat along the Quai de la Loire then go here. If you're looking for high quality pizza go elsewhere ! This is definitely a "we're just okay with average pizza that has good flavor but not the best dough" kind of place.

We eat there our last 4 nights at the city of lights, they have a 13.90€ Menu for Antipasto and Primo piatto. We love the mozzarella tomato and the Lasagna bolognese. The service is fast and like you are family. Pros: only 2-3 other patrons eating, lots of tables, off the beaten path, opens late, friendly staff, lots of food for price, quality ingredients, speaks English and some Spanish, very good French bread basket, great food. Cons: only one brand of beer, opens only for dinner, no ice with drinks (ice=tourist, sorry i really like my coke with ice), at night the neighborhood fills with sketchy people (both noting to be affright, just use common sense). We really like this place and will come back in our next trip to Paris.
