The restroom needed a little attention but they weren't horrible. They actually served as relief from the heat because it was really hot during my visit!!! Whew goodness!!!! Pool Liner install Nightmare…read more Paid to have a new liner installed. Let the nightmare begin. 6 weeks after paying half up front. Nick attempted to install the new liner. After removing the old liner and attempting to patch a couple of cracks where ground water was leaking in, he walked off the job being he didn't measure correctly the size of the pool. Hence liner didn't fit. After about 45 minutes of trying to install the liner, he said it didn't fit. He left the new liner hanging and walked away. The ground water leak wasn't fixed. Never in my life have I seen a contractor just up and quit in the middle of a job. Now we are stuck with winter coming and a pool that is messed up. Ground water filling up under the unfitted liner. Nick did however curse and kick the liner, this had to effect on making the liner fit the pool. He did give a full refund.

The gentleman that answered the phone said there was space and told us to try to be there before dark. We arrived at 6:30pm, which was after dark, and were told we couldn't camp because he had locked the gate. It would have been helpful if he had told me on the phone not to bother coming if we were going to be there 30 minutes after dark instead of saying "try to be here before dark". We are now in a hotel in Montgomery. Thanks a lot.

Jackson Lake Island is amazing, especially if you are a fan of Tim Burton's Big Fish…read more You enter through a gate, and there is an entire process for paying and then obtaining the gate code. Luckily, we paid, and were then calling the phone number to get the code, when someone who was camping pulled up behind us and put the code in for us. The small road bridge leading from the main land to the island was a little scary for me. Good thing there wasn't a car coming the other way, or I would have freaked out even more. This land is wonderful. I could see the appeal to kayak, fish, or have a picnic here, or even camp here. We stopped at the bathrooms first, and they are clean and provide running water. On our drive to the town of Spectre, we ran into the goats. We were driving down the road and all of the goats were coming at us. We put the car in park and enjoyed the goats. One goat even jumped up on my door to say hello. They are fabulous and very friendly. When we exited the vehicle at the Spectre movie set, a super friendly goat was charging at me, I immediately went into the car and the goat approached my boyfriend. All the goat wanted was some pets. And that's what he got. They are like large dogs. There are swing benches around the lake and it is nice to sit and enjoy the scenery. Watch out for goat poop. That is the only bad thing. The goats keep the island well manicured and provide the best entertainment and are adorable.

The monks are on their way to Washington, D.C. from Texas, and are walking every bit of the 2,300 miles. The park itself is very nice and spacious and well-maintained. There's a walking trail and a play area for kids. I didn't see where the restrooms were located but they are there near the play area. The park sits in a nice residential area and I can imagine that the locals are proud of this park. I also saw a few benches in the area where I was standing. There's a lot of parking near the entrance. Overall, it's an ideal park to take a nice stroll or run and to take the kiddies while school is out. Since I was attending an event here, my pictures reflect the event. Check the park out for yourself to get the full effect.

Fourth golf course on the RTJ golf trails - Capitol Hill …read more Legislator Course - challenging and fun. The hole surrounding the water are very peaceful. Greens are fast. Everything seemed easy after Ross Bridge. The long bridge or wooden cart path was interesting, almost like going on a baby roller coaster. At least the sounds of it. We ate at a couple RTJ restaurants. If I remember correctly, this is the only RTJ restaurant sprinkled cinnamon sugar on the sweet potato fries, giving it an extra oomph! So.Much.Fuuuuuuuuuun!!!!!…read more Did you see the movie ATL? Well, this place is like the Montgomery version of Cascade. You'll definitely have a great experience here if you like to have fun, you're social, and can laugh at yourself should you fall. Price: The price definitely depends on when you come. We came Friday night (didn't know it was college night), and paid $10/ea for entry and rental skates. Rental skates: These things get beat up, so don't expect them to complete your outfit. I think even Cinderella had better shoe wear as a chamber maid. Luckily, the kid who was passing them out understood that and let us swap them out a couple of times :) Skating: There are reeeeally good skaters here. However, even though they are, they're still really humble; they'll teach you if you want to be taught, too. Music: The music was kind of "trappy" in the beginning, but later in the night, the DJ started playing songs like "Roll Bounce" and "Set It Off". I still give the music 5/5! Would I recommend? Yup! Will I be back? Absolutely!

It's open to the public. Plus, the best part is for parents, it's a fenced area so kids won't wander off to streets or areas they shouldn't be in. It's in a historical neighborhood of Montgomery and there are several local independent businesses nearby like Cafe Louisa, Tomatinos, El Rey, Leroys, etc. Grab a nice lunch from there and enjoy a beautiful day here. The only downside is that, there are no public restrooms but I am not sure if the church has them or not. Thus, one star deduction for now but a totally safe place for kids to explore.
