My fondest memories are of my young son swimming with Auburn Alum, Olympic medalist and TV commentator Rowdy Gaines at a week long camp directed by former Auburn Head Coach Brett Hawke. Parking can be a challenge for visitors. The closest areas are reserved for faculty and students. There is parking in the nearby football lot. The facility although dated to the mid 90's is in great condition. The primary pool and diving well is for Auburn swim and dive team. However, faculty and students can use the pool. The spectator area is marvelous and spans the entire length of the pool and well. The Olympic size pool is 50 meters with movable bulkhead, platform diving and well. The aquatic complex consist of approximately 145,000 gallons of swimming capability. The Long Course pool has eight lanes for competition with depths of 7-8 feet for greater speed. The facility is maintained to high standards and immaculate. Auburn is a fabulous city with the Auburn campus meshing into one big happy community. War Eagle!

I was a member of this pool as a child and I'm now a member of this pool as a father. Other than…read moreus saying good bye to the high dive years ago, not much has changed. This is a classic neighborhood pool with a family feel. You won't find the weekend warriors with a beer taking a dip a Shades Cliff. In fact, if I don't take the kids, I feel a bit out of place. Everything you would expect is offered here; swim and dive classes, water aerobics, a grilling area, adult swim, a baby pool, competent life guards, vending machines, etc... If there were any draw back, it would be the guest policies. I'm sure they are par for the course, I just wish a grandparent didn't have to pay when taking a member child. Lord knows, the kids could go more often if that were the case.

There were tons of roaches running around both the locker/dressing rooms, pool deck and even on the pool chairs. I am still afraid that I might have brought some home with me.
