$15 out the door for this.

One extra star for the nice customer service and 2 for the food. This food has NO flavor. I should have known by the color of the chow mien The beef on the beef and broccoli was all fatty. I am so disappointed. The decent thing was the orange chicken and that's it. It's a small place with a few tables but no one was there around dinner time on a busy Saturday. Like I mentioned the lady was super sweet. It's been really hard to find decent Chinese food in the Central Valley. Won't be going back again.

I wish I had an emptier stomach their flavors are so good! Random stop turned into a regular stop when I am passing through Visalia. Noodles 10/10, protein 10/10, pot stickers 100/10 - perfectly fried outside - juicy inside

Chow Main , and egg flower soup..

If you're looking for a place to unwind with delicious food that tastes like it was made with love, Gumbo Kitchen is an absolute must-visit. Whether you're here for a casual meal or a special night out, the comfort and flavor will leave you wanting more. I came to eat with my family, and we couldn't get enough!

Good and flavorful. Service was really nice. I tried the eggrolls and those were fine. I wouldn't eat inside as it was humid, they had a swamp cooler, and not as clean as it could be. It just felt sticky in there all around. But quality of food and portions is well done.

Came back for a couple lunch specials and everything was fresh and delicious. The broccoli chicken was super flavorful and the sweet n sour chicken was crispy and so good! Service was great, the woman at the front register is so friendly.

    * BEST Sweet and Sour Pork in town, be sure to have veggies (onions, carrots, bell pepper) added. * Wonton soup was good. * Beef Broccoli & Chicken with Black Bean Sauce were ok. * Kung Pao Chicken was spicy. Good spot for cheap lunch at only $7.50. They give good portions and better than $15 fast food... + Friendly customer service.

WHY IS THIS PLACE UNDERRATED?! Someone pls upload the newest menu! holy cow! The serving portions are generous - obviously bigger than that panda spot. So glad I decided to support a local spot! All of the food was delicious, well flavored & well seasoned! Not too greasy/just right! In this economy these spots are very worth your while! The cashew chicken - wow let me tell you this felt like a clean meal with white rice, two portions worth at least! And from 11-3 it's at their killer deal pricing. There was less sauce on this compared to other places but I'm happy with it because the flavor was allll there. The variety of veggies I got mushrooms, Celery, carrots, water chestnuts & onions really delivered. My new go-to favorite! The combo plate - I love when each entree has its own distinct flavoring. Wow they do use jalapeños and red chiles so feel free to poke them out and then enjoy (the flavor coming from the chili's was incredible and well appreciated - I just won't eat the red ones! Made that mistake as a child) the sauce was incredible for both kung pao and Mongolian. Also- you can add chicken to your fried rice and or chicken chow mein, or pan fried noodles for a little more! So worth it for added protein :) BONUS ! They don't make anything until you order it so all your food is equally very warm and fresh! Will be returning! Also my mans said the lady was so nice as everyone mentioned and she packed everything into a box for easier carrying! Talk about customer service. Phone order went smoothly too. Thank you gumbo kitchen! People who seem to upset and rate this spot with less stars appear to want much much more than what they pay for or appear IMO

Delicious typical Chinese food. The orange chicken is the staple of it . Order ahead looks like it usually one person cooking.

Chinese Kitchen - Fried Shrimp and Pot Stickers

    Chinese Kitchen

On a recent trip to Visalia, we got the craving for Chinese food and after searching Yelp we…read morediscovered Chinese Kitchen was one of our best local options. The target customer demographic in this area isn't generally Asian, so we tempered our expectations before dining here. We were impressed by the extensive menu offerings and after some deliberation, we settled on the Dinner for Two which started with a Won Ton Soup and fried shrimp and pot stickers as appetizers. The entree included sizzling rice wor bar, Peking pork and pork fried rice (we substituted for pork chow mein). The restaurant was very traditional in closing the meal out with fortune cookies. Our favorite due to its flavor was the Peking pork, and we also enjoyed the fried shrimp, pot stickers and sizzling rice wor bar. The only misses were the Won Ton Soup (we felt the flavor of the broth was not quite right) and the pork chow mein (it arrived lukewarm and lacking in flavor but it was an improvement after dousing it in chili sauce). Chinese Kitchen doesn't appear to be located in the best neighborhood, but it is easy to tell that this establishment has been around for quite some time. The best part of our dining experience was the service. Our greeter and server welcomed us, took our order and checked in on us multiple times. We also had the opportunity to chat with the owner and she is very welcoming and helpful. If you're in Visalia and have a craving for Chinese cuisine, Chinese Kitchen is as good an option as any!

But my friends who recommended it they've came but only for the drinks on the Lum Lums side. Hong Kong is the the food side apparently. So I ordered the Shrimp Fu Yung. I got stir fried shrimp with veggies over a clump of breaded onion. The shrimp was over cooked veggies were fine. The breaded onion seemed like it might have been reheated from a previous unused dish. If it wasn't for the gravy it wouldn't have rehydrated. Wasn't this an Egg Foo Yung dish, instead it was a clump of breaded onions. That's how bad it was. This place was busy but don't know why. The other people I was with ordered lemon chicken, orange chicken, fried rice, fried plain wontons, sweet and sour chicken. They all seem to enjoy it. They received a lot of food. But a lot was taken home as leftovers. My friends are also non-Asian and not a big foodie like me. So take that however you want. It's sad when businesses close but to make a highly traditional dish like egg foo yung terrible, that is a sign.

I saw the Dinner Combo plates menu here and the decent price so we decided to try it out! The service was friendly and the ambiance was dull and environment is dated. Let's talk about the food! We ordered the Daily Special which is now $16.50(?)-ish as of 5/2024. It came with orange chicken, broccoli beef, pork fried rice, pork chow mein, fried shrimp, fried chicken wings, and fried wontons. A LOT of food , RIGHT?! We were super eager to get our food! The parking lot was empty when we got there and there were no customers at the time. We purchased our order and drove home. Upon opening our box, everything looked like your ordinary Chinese food. All the fried stuff was extremely fried. They did not look appetizing at all. Super dry. The wontons were plain and flat. I thought we were going to get the wontons with stuffing inside, but no. Fried shrimp ? Shrimp was pretty non-existent. The fried chicken wings..we didn't even try it because it looked like mystery meat to us (bleh). We enjoyed the orange chicken, beef and broccoli, and chow mein. The pork fried rice was eh. Nothing special about it. The rice was a little dry and lifeless too. I don't think it needed the pork. Too much meat in one meal. Overall, we gave this place a solid 3. All the fried extras weren't edible. We felt like it was just leftovers they're trying to get rid of. Would choose Panda Express over this place any day.
